Best Dressed Of The Week – Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab Couture & Liam Hemsworth In Dolce & Gabbana

Best Dressed Of The Week - Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab Couture & Liam Hemsworth In Dolce & Gabbana

I had a hard time narrowing down ten looks for best dressed this week, but you had no trouble picking a winner; Elizabeth Banks’ Elie Saab Couture gown, which she wore to the Berlin ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ premiere, was your winner by a country mile and I agreed with you.

Liam Hemsworth’s Dolce & Gabbana suit worn to the Rome premiere of ‘The Hunger Games’ charmed you this week. The actor had five great suits last week, and this sleek Italian suit stood out for me too.

Five looks down; two more (LA premiere (Monday) and New York premiere (Wednesday)) to go.

After a day’s grace from the red carpet, Elizabeth Banks was back with a bang for the Paris premiere of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ this evening.

The fashion gods heard my, not so silent, prayer and granted me Alexander McQueen for the evening.

Elizabeth’s black halter gown with decorative, colourful beaded neckline and waist, which was also festooned with feathers, is a commercial look from the Spring 2014 collection.

The look is very much on par with all of her other looks so far, so how will I choose a best of this tour?

A McQueen clutch, featuring the same beaded work as her frock, shoes by the same designer plus Baccarat jewels completed her look.

You will find me weeping in a corner on Thursday morning when this tour is over.

Which would you like to see up for BDOTW?

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab Couture & Jena Malone In Reem Acra – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Oslo Premiere

Premiere The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

After two days and several phone calls to Norway and Sweden I finally have the golden picture from the Oslo premiere of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, as I was not prepared to allow these two stunning gowns to go to waste or settle for grainy Instagram pictures or stolen pictures, as some other websites settled for.

Elizabeth Banks: The actress donned her second Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture dress in a row, wearing a striking emerald-green sleeveless embroidered fit-and-flare dress with a plunging neckline, which was styled with matching Jimmy Choo ‘Freya’ sandals, Irene Neuwirth emerald earrings, emerald rings from Marina B and Jacob & Co., plus she arrived at the event carrying a Charlotte Olympia Perspex clutch with a custom green pouch. It was another fairytale, heart-palpitating look; she can do no wrong in my eyes. Some may comment on the matchy-matchyness of the look, but I wouldn’t change a single thing.

Sam Claflin: Wedged between two beauties, the handsome actor is still going tieless, opting for a dark double-breasted jacket and navy trousers against his stark white shirt. A red pocket square and brow monk-strap shoes rounded out his less formal, yet still smart, approach to red-carpet dressing.

Jena Malone: After blowing me away at the London premiere, she wows once again wearing a Reem Acra Fall 2013 bugle-beaded long-sleeved gown, which she styled with black nail polish and smoky eyes, with no visible jewels to speak of. Wavy tresses and a glossy lip perfect her sexy, sleek look.

Hopefully both ladies will grace the red carpet alongside Jennifer Lawrence tonight at the Paris premiere before they all head back to California for the LA premiere on Monday.

I will be sad when it comes to an end.

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab Couture – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Berlin Premiere

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab Couture - 'The Hunger Games Catching Fire' Berlin Premiere

Elizabeth Banks sent a shiver down my spine while taking to the red carpet this evening for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Berlin premiere in Germany – this is why I love her.

Yes, it’s Elie Saab.

I only had two wishes for Elizabeth during this promo tour: some McQueen and some sparkle which we saw plenty of from the first promo tour, and you don’t get more bedazzlement than from the Bling King.

The Fall 2013 Couture gown was presented as a bridesmaid’s gown, but she was definitely not playing second fiddle to her co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

Her silver metallic fully embellished sweetheart strapless gown with silver ridged belt was styled with metallic Brian Atwood ‘Karin’ open-toe platform sandals, Demarco drop earrings, a Carla Amorim ring and a silver Kara Ross envelope clutch.

Wavy tresses completed her BDOTW-worthy look.

Which of Elizabeth’s looks do you prefer so far? The Jason Wu or this Saab stunner?

I will have to flip a coin at this point. I love that she doesn’t make these decisions easy for us.

Elizabeth Banks In Jason Wu – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ After-Party

Elizabeth Banks In Jason Wu - ‘The Hunger Games Catching Fire’ After-Party

Elizabeth Banks joined Jennifer Lawrence at the Royal Courts of Justice in London for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ after-party following the photocall and world premiere earlier in the day.

The actress, who you deemed best dressed at the premiere by an overwhelming majority, opted for Jason Wu again, swapping her ballgown for this party-perfect pale-sage metallic organza bias-draped layered frock from the Spring 2014 collection.

Opting to keep the same hairstyle, she decided upon a lighter lip colour on this occasion, selecting a shimmering nude hue which matched her Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps.

I already can’t wait to see what she wears to the Berlin premiere this evening.

Prior to ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ world premiere, Elizabeth Banks attended the photocall in London.

She wore an Alexander McQueen Resort 2014 floral-print mini dress with exaggerated patch pockets and a tonal belt which cinched in her waist.

Her legs seem to go on for days in this festive number.

Keeping her hair and makeup simple, she upped the ante a notch with her ponyskin Christian Louboutin ‘Malabar’ studded pumps.

Hopefully this won’t be the last time we seen her in McQueen during this promo tour.

Elizabeth Banks In Jason Wu - 2013 London Hunger Games Premiere

Elizabeth Banks brought a veritable ray of sunshine to the UK premiere of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ hosted this evening at Odeon Leicester Square in London.

The actress completely commanded the red carpet in her bold and beautiful, custom-made Jason Wu strapless confection, a yellow extravaganza of a glam ball gown that still served up sexy appeal with its peekaboo side cutouts.

But it was really the dress’s bright, zesty citron shade—a delicious lemon curd of a hue—that stole the show, so much so that too much added sparkle would have been an unnecessary distraction.

So, Elizabeth maintained a more minimal jewelry approach, wearing just an on-trend Gaydamak hand cuff and a Jacob & Co. ring, also accessorizing with a Nancy Gonzalez clutch and Brian Atwood heels. She polished off the look with a sleek, side-parted updo and a coral-red lip.
