Lupita Nyong’o was your best dressed this week for the Christian Dior Couture gown she wore to the BAFTAs.
As much as I loved the gown and the colour against her skin, there was – much like her SAG Awards Ralph Lauren cape gown – a feeling of déjà vu.
Even without the déjà vu, I would’ve still crowned Carina Lau my favourite in her Ralph & Russo Couture pink cocktail dress, which was far more enticing and original in design. My runner up was Suki, also in Ralph & Russo.
Eddie Redmayne: Our Best Dressed Man of 2013 was one of the presenters on the night. He didn’t let us down looking very dapper wearing a Gucci black one button peak lapel Marseille tuxedo with a white evening shirt, black silk bow tie and black patent leather lace ups. His beautiful plus one, Hannah Bagshawe, was also decked out in Gucci Pre-Fall 2013.
Brad Pitt: The actor wore a Valentino tuxedo styled with a black bow-tie. Frankly, I prefer Angelina’s look over his. I don’t get the collarless shirt.
Eddie Redmayne continued to steal plenty of hearts this year, as he once again dominated the polls and secured the style prize of Best Dressed Man for 2013, continuing his winning streak from 2012.
It’s not hard to understand why.
The British charmer has a look that’s equal parts boyish cutie and handsome hottie—which is only increased by a wardrobe that favours fashionably tailored, yet still trendy ensembles from designers such as Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford, along with AllSaints.
He’s a shoo-in when it comes to trim tuxes and swoon-worthy, sharp suits—many in colourful shades. But he can just as easily saunter out casual, sometimes quirky looks that run the gamut from rugged to rock-star cool.
Not afraid to step outside the style box, he rarely misses a sartorial beat, striking a pose with those piercing baby blues, chiseled cheekbones, and a quiff that won’t quit. What’s not to adore?
The British actor suited up in a Gucci Fall 2013 ensemble, giving the look a red-carpet moment that was just as impactful (if not more so) as its runway debut.
Always proving himself a sartorial stud, Eddie dressed up the baby-blue-accented Prince of Wales check suit with a houndstooth black tie, white shirt and pocket square—all topped off with an intense, steely gaze.
It was a Mary Katrantzou double this week, as you voted for Diane Kruger wearing a look from the designer’s Resort 2014 collection and I picked Naomie Harris in a frock from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection.
I may have gone for Diane, as her dress has more of an interesting shape, but I couldn’t get past the hair.
When it came to the fellas, our choices differed. You selected the handsome Eddie Redmayne in his navy linen suit, while I was more enamoured with the pretty pink suit worn by RuPaul.
The boys of summer have been heating up the scene over the last few days, sauntering around in a variety of sartorial statements. From premieres to polo (and a flash of pink), take a peek at the lineup.
James Marsden: With a little bit of scruff and a lot of suave style, the actor donned an impeccably fitted, grey plaid Dior Homme suit, worn over a crisp white shirt and black tie, at the ’2 Guns’ New York premiere at SVA Theatre last night. But, let’s face it: With that chiseled stare, who’s looking at the suit.
RuPaul: The entertainer skipped the drag, but was still pretty in pink at Fergie’s ‘Gayby’ baby shower at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, California on Sunday. Only RuPaul could flaunt a slim, pastel tuxedo with white racing stripes down the legs and white strap-happy sandals. Tickled pink?
Eddie Redmayne: The British cutie joined Alice Eve at the Audi International Polo at Guards Polo Club in Egham, England on Sunday. The casual-cool vibe of this light denim-look suit and baby-blue button-down is undeniably refreshing, especially when polished up with the flourish of a pocket square. He also slid on a pair of matching Toms shoes, which were a perfect if not unexpected fit.
Noel Gallagher was spotted leaving the Groucho Club in London back in May wearing a dual-colour AllSaints Bleek leather bomber jacket with a complementary polo shirt, dark jeans and weathered sneakers.
Vanessa Hudgens gave the same look a female touch with Valentino studded pumps, a sexy scoop-neck tank top, distressed jeans and some necklaces while attending the MySpace Event the following month.
A few days later Eddie Redmayne gave this popular, now sold-out jacket its third run out while attending the Moet & Chandon Suite at the Aegon Championships Queen’s Club finals event in London.
Opting for a layered light-coloured shirt, camel sweater and navy pants, his cool accessories included shades and battered shoes.
Eddie wins for me as I love the well-thought-out yet effortless styling.
