Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear red carpet 21 october

Here is a quick rundown of some of the gentlemen who took to the red carpet yesterday (October 20) evening.

Ryan Reynolds: The actor joined his wife, Blake Lively, on the red carpet for the Angel Ball in New York City. Like Blake, he also wore Gucci, donning a Made to Order peak-lapel two-button Marseille tuxedo with a black evening shirt, navy silk bowtie and black leather lace-up shoes.

Eddie Redmayne: Making it a Gucci double, the British actor joined co-star Felicity Jones on the red carpet for ‘The Theory of Everything’ New York premiere decked out in a dark-blue Gucci Fall 2014 velvet ‘Dylan’ suit. We love the actor for his dabbling in colourful suits, but he looks just as good when he takes a walk on the dark side.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Keira Knightley In Michael Van Der Ham, Kate Bosworth In BOSS & Eddie Redmayne In Burberry Prorsum

bd2

Keira Knightley in Michael Van Der Ham and Kate Bosworth in BOSS were your best dressed this week.

You were swept away by the dark romance of Keira’s look – which saw her make a brief and welcome change from the expected – as much as you were blown away by Kate Bosworth’s matchy red ensemble, which was my personal favourite this week.

When it came to the gents there was no such competition, as the clear favourite was Eddie Redmayne in Burberry Prorsum. Even the suaveness of usual favourite Douglas Booth couldn’t come close to Eddie’s well-styled brightly coloured suit, which for some would be a risk, but this is standard practice for Eddie.

Eddie Redmayne In Alexander McQueen & Burberry – HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF Celebration & ‘Theory of Everything’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Eddie Redmayne In Alexander McQueen & Burberry - HFPA & InStyle's 2014 TIFF Celebration & 'Theory of Everything' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Eddie Redmayne attended the HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF Celebration on September 6 and the premiere of the film ‘The Theory of Everything’ on September 7 at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.

Party: An Alexander McQueen black and cream Prince of Wales check suit worn with a navy tie is a handsome, classic look, and the addition of the grey suede tassel slippers offers the perfect dash of fashion-forward whimsy.

Premiere: A teal, double-breasted Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 suit with a navy tie and pocket square is a sharp color combination, and classic patent shoes complete the modern look. I love how much fun Eddie has with fashion–he knows fashion isn’t only a woman’s game.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of all the guys who took to the red carpet for various events last weekend, including Comic-Con and the Young Hollywood Awards.

Douglas Booth: The handsome British actor wore a smart-casual Polo Ralph Lauren look consisting of a khaki linen sport jacket, mint-green chinos, and a simple white tee and pocket square. The contrasting pair of navy suede brogues don’t ruin the look, but some tan loafers would’ve been preferred here.

Ansel Elgort: Brown, auburn, cinnamon, mud… call Ansel’s Prada Uomo Fall 2014 two-button lapel suit whatever colour you like. I am only getting through this by focusing on the tie. He can do so much better.

Eddie Redmayne: The always impeccably dressed actor wore a micro-checked blue and white suit with navy accents, including slippers which I would’ve swapped out for those nice navy Alexander McQueen loafers he wore during awards season.

2014 Met Gala Menswear Roundup

Met Gala Men 1The dress code at the 2014 Met Ball, themed ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ was “white tie,” which meant the guys were on their best glam behavior—at least most of them. Tuxes were spotted at every turn among the handsome hunks on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 5). It takes a lot of sartorial strength to stand up to the rush of bustling, bold gowns that punctuate the evening, but let’s hear it for the men who made it work.

David Beckham: This hot topic was hotter than ever in a crisp, cool Ralph Lauren Black Label white shawl collar tuxedo jacket, black bow tie and black tuxedo pant. This is the way to rock formal wear, without a hit of fussiness. Swooning yet?

Douglas Booth
: The British actor took a regally traditional route, but put a refreshingly modern spin on his head-to-toe Burberry outing. He was positively dashing in a black tailcoat and dress trousers, worn with a white waistcoat, wing collar bib-front shirt, white bow tie and black loafers.

Andrew Garfield
: “The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ star looked sharp in silver, dressed in a Band of Outsiders metallic blazer with contrasting black shawl collar, paired with a white shirt, black bow tie and black tuxedo trousers. I love the touch of metal here.
