Red Carpet Fashion Awards

As I said earlier, Drew Barrymore’s Malandrino Resort 2010 gold brocade dress has been worn twice before.

Firstly by the designer herself Catherine Malandrino, and secondly by her BFF Mary J Blige.

Catherine wore her dress back in June when she attended the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards.

She paired her dress matching embellished ankle strap sandals and a clutch covered in silver paillette’s.

Mary hosted an ‘Evening at Cipriani’ in New York when she wore her Malandrino gown just 10 days after her friend.

The R&B singer paired her dress with YSL Tribute sandals, a silver clutch and diamond bracelet.

It’s unusual to see a celeb like Drew Barrymore wear a well worn gown, but she did at her “Going The Distance” LA Premiere last night.

As much as I didn’t like Drew’s Trib Two choice, I loved how her Balmain belt gave this dress a whole new look.

I’m not a fan of mixing metals and since Catherine and Mary both carried silver clutch with this gold dress, Drew wins for me.

All three ladies look like Grecian Goddesses in this floor length Malandrino Resort 2010 dress. Even the designer herself has chosen to wear this design.

Dita von Teese first wore this dress in October to the “Cointreau Party” in Brazil. I love how she’s made it look gothic and the high shine of this dress looks amazing against her skin.

Her standard red lips and nails really suit this dress, but I feel something is missing from the neckline though.

Cucu Diamente wore this dress in November to the “Person of the Year Honoring Juan Gabriel” in Las Vegas.

This dress looks amazing on her tiny frame, nipping her in at the right places but also giving her some hips.

Her diamond necklace and earrings are just stunning.

Catherine Malandrino wore her own design recently to the “New York City Ballet”. I just love that necklace and how it sweeps down into the plunging neckline.

This is not the first time Cucu and Catherine have been spotted in the same Malandrino dress. Back in May we noted that they wore the same Spring 2009 gown.

I like the way the way that all three ladies has opted to wear their hair down. I especially like the way that Catherine’s cascades over her shoulders.

I think I prefer the dress in silver as it’s more dramatic and for me Catherine is the winner in the styles stakes for her choice of jewelery.

We’re well aware the music and fashion go together, now we are seeing a trend of designers collaborating with car manufacturers.

Luisa Beccaria collaborated with Citroen, now we have the French born, New York based fashion designer Catherine Malandrino.

The designer stars in a new BMW national advertising campaign which is featured in the December issues of Condé Nast publications W, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, Bon Appetit, Condé Nast Traveler, The New Yorker, and if you are on Style.com as often as I’m you will have seen the adds pop up there.

The editorial tells a story of Catherine looking fabulous outside her Meatpacking District Flagship boutique, and on a weekend getaway at her country house in upstate NY.

It’s a portrait of her nomadic chic lifestyle with the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo as her ultimate companion.

Of course she’s dressed in her own designs from her Fall 2009 collection.

Natalie Portman arrived at the New York City Ballet opening night gala this week wearing a Vena Cava Spring 2010 navy and white printed dress.

I would’ve thought going to a ballet required a look more regal and elegant.

This look could just as easily have been worn to run errands in.

I love the dress, but not for this occasion.

Of course Catherine Malandrino gave me the glamour I was desperately missing from Natalie.

The designer wore a silver metallic gown with a deep plunge and draped hips of her own design from her Resort 2010 collection.

The gown was worn with a large statement necklace which complemented her gown perfectly.

As much as I miss her raven locks, this warmer auburn colour is just divine on her.

Dita von Teese wore this same dress in black recently.

Erin Fetherston’s pieces are always have a fantasy princess element to them, and this cute dress is no different.

What makes this particular piece interesting is the floral print and the sharp asymmetrical hem.

Mila Kunis gives us a rare smile wearing a Dolce & Gabbana grey ruched strapless cocktail dress, with a contrasting black waistband.

Her popular dress was worn with a black blazer and satin black pumps.

Catherine Malandrino was in London back in June to attend launch of her boutique within Harrods.

Looking as stunning as ever, the designer opted to wear this emerald pleated empire waist dress with ruffle sleeves from her 2009 Pre-Fall collection.

She could have opted for black heels but instead she wore satin lavender peep-toes which I adore.

Actress Christina Hendricks arrived at the 2009 TCA AMC cocktail reception in California wearing the same dress.

Gold was her colour of choice for her accessories, which complemented her dress well.

Catherine wins this for me as I love the green against her olive skin.

Eva Mendes combines timeless chic with modern elegance.

She looked sophisticated wearing a Michael Kors folded shift dress, with a gorgeous metallic fabric.

Her dress was paired with ultra-high black Casadei platform heels and a selection of the sponsors jewelery.

Gabrielle Union wore a silk chiffon strapless BCBG raspberry gown with a bejeweled detail on the empire waist.

The colour is stunning against her skin. She looks as beautiful as ever.

Fergie wore a taupe Max Azria sateen origami strapless dress, with black Walter Steiger heels.

What I love here is her corset-like belt, which give the dress a edgier look.

Fergie is never boring on the red carpet, and I love her for that.

Camilla And Marc Dinner

WOOOHoooo, we have a smile.

Many of you have noted that Ginnifer Goodwin never smiles. We get the odd smirk from time to time, but this is a full on grin.

The host of this dinner, wore a white one-shouldered white mini with black open-toe Mechante of London ankle boots.

It’s a shame she didn’t have enough time to press her dress though.

I’ve been a great admirer of Lynn Collins style since she burst onto the scene. I love her Camilla & Marc LBD, with the lace insert and tiered skirt, but the hair and make-up really let her down.

Also I’m tiring of booties with everything.

Catherine Malandrino Boutique Launch At Harrods, London

Catherine Malandrino was in London to launch her new boutique within Harrods departments store. The designer epitomizes everyday chic wearing a gorgeous green pleated empire waist dress from her own collection.

This dress is captivating with its ruffled sleeves. It’s the perfect day to night dress.

Elizabeth Hurley opted for a Catherine Malandrino black strapless dress with multi coloured embroidered rosettes at bust and multicolored banding at the waist.

I wouldn’t have had Liz down as a Malandrino girl as she is so high maintenance, but she looks great in this dress.
