Carey Mulligan In Preen – 2010 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards

When I saw Carey Mulligan on the red carpet at the 2010 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards I thought finally a youthful, fresh, interesting look.

Carey has long been dressing as if she’s much older, thus making it hard for many of us to relate to her or like her style.

Last night she became the first actress to wear a look from the recent Preen Spring 2011 collection.

I love this Preen beaded and bonded dress.

I would even go as far as saying her stone textured beaded sleeveless top and black A line skirt look better on Carey than the model.

Does Carey read my blog?

Because she wore an electric blue pair of YSL Palais pumps when black pumps would’ve been the most obvious-safest choice.

Either way I’m liking this new direction.

Sleek hair and flawless make-up completed her look.

Carey Mulligan In Giles – 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala

My first thought when I saw Carey Mulligan in this Giles Resort 2011 dress at the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala was, “How can Shia LaBeouf end his relationship with Carey when she’s 5 months pregnant?”

Her maroon draped Giles dress is incredibly unflattering, but I’m hoping it’s just the angle of the photo.

Either way me no likey as the dress does nothing for her.

A matching maroon clutch and violet Roger Vivier peep-toes complete this forgettable look.

2010 London Film Festival: “Never Let Me Go” Premiere – Carey Mulligan In Vionnet

Carey Mulligan looked beautiful on the red carpet for the 2010 London Film Festival Premiere for “Never Let Me Go”.

She also wore one of her favourite designers: Vionnet.

You may remember she wore this designer to the BAFTAs this year.

This time she wore a gorgeous Vionnet colour-block halter dress with Giuseppe Zanotti for Vionnet gold wedges from the Spring 2011 collection.

She’s lacking in energy here but her hair, dress and shoes are so beautiful that’s all I can focus on.

2010 London Film Festival: “Never Let Me Go” Photocall – Carey Mulligan In Proenza Schouler

Carey Mulligan attended the 2010 London Film Festival “Never Let Me Go” Photocall in the West End this lunchtime.

She looked radiant wearing a mustard pleated Proenza Schouler dress with black trims including a black belt.

I love the whole look and I don’t even mind her black YSL pumps.

The dress is a very pretty colour for her.

Like her co-star Keira Knightley, Carey sported some some mini waves in her hair and she also added a simple hair accessory.

I think both girls looked good. I was happy to see them having fun on the red carpet.

It reminds me of the time when Keira and Sienna Miller were inseparable on the red carpet during their promo tour for “The Edge Of Love.”

Carey Mulligan For Vogue US October 2010

Carey Mulligan is the October 2010 cover girl for American Vogue.

Grace Coddington styled the Peter Lindbergh shoot which sees Carey wearing Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Armani Privé and Valentino Couture Fall 2010 looks, plus a Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière peony-print jacquard dress and a Nina Ricci silk-tulle-and-lace dress with velvet sash.

Carey has two movies due for release soon. “Never Let Me Go” and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”, but she’d love to star in “Glee”.

Unfortunately she’s been told she’s not famous enough yet. Maybe her new films will change all that.

Despite being quite petite Carey complained that her Couture wardrobe was too small even for her.

Here are some extracts from her interview with her stunning Couture editorial below.

On attending events with Shia LaBeouf: “Posing on the red carpet feels like you’re selling something that has nothing to do with you. If you do it with someone else, it’s like we’re saying, ‘Oh! We come as a pair! Would you like to buy both of us? We’re available for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs!”Read More…

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” New York Premiere – Carey Mulligan In Nina Ricci

Carey Mulligan joined her co-stars Shia LaBeouf, Michael Douglas and Josh Brolin on the red carpet for the “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” New York Premiere last night.

Unlike TomKat who are glued to the hip on the red carpet, Carey and Shia refused to be photographed alone together.

Great news so I can get a full view of her Nina Ricci Fall 2010 ensemble.

I love the look and I’m glad yet again for a different silhouette, but I wish this look was more nipped in at the waist.

You maybe surprised to know that I think the black skirt works better on Carey as the silver may have washed her out.

Her hair is looking great, but the shoes…*deep sigh*

“Never Let Me Go” New York Premiere & Press Conference – Carey Mulligan In Elie Saab & Vionnet

After promoting her new movie “Never Let Me Go” at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival, Carey Mulligan’s next stop was New York.

She’s attended the premiere wearing an Elie Saab Fall 2010 dress.

The black lace and tulle cocktail dress with ribbon details is one of her best looks in a long while.

Not because she’s wearing my favourite designer, but because it’s such a refreshing change to see her wearing something that doesn’t age her.

I love the hair. It’s amazing how many styles she’s giving us with her blonde pixie cut.

We don’t usually see Carey wearing this much make-up, but the strong look works well for her.

She dazzled wearing Everlon Diamond Knot jewels.

Before leaving Toronto, Carey attended a press conference for “Never Let Me Go” at the Hyatt Regency.

She wore a Vionnet Resort 2011 brown crêpe de chine dress which she paired with leopard print Prada heels.

I’m not crazy about the hair and make-up (or lack thereof it) on this occasion, but I’m glad she removed the slashed sleeves.
