Summer Party On The Highline, Presented By Coach

Summer Party On The Highline, Presented By Coach

Last night, a bevy of ‘it-list’ beauties gathered for a carnival-themed Summer Party, presented by Coach, on New York City’s High Line. Here, some of the looks that weren’t all as light and luscious as I was anticipating.

Katie Holmes: The actress-cum-designer kept it cool in a white one-shoulder Chloé Resort 2013 dress, accented with a mauve Coach ‘Madison’ gathered twist clutch, brown Azzedine Alaïa gladiator sandals and black-lacquered nails. The silhouette could have been more flattering, as I don’t love what the gathered dropped waist is doing to her figure at this angle.

Naomi Watts: Pretty in light pink, Naomi wore a loose, button-down See by Chloé shirtdress with white Bruno Magli sandals. Her metallic-accented, leopard-print sunnies added some of the pop I was originally seeking. A Coach Poppy Mirror metallic flight bag completed her look.

Connie Britton: The ‘Nashville’ star stood out in a breezy, aqua-blue high-low dress, grounded with a pair of chocolate-brown platform sandals. She definitely wins the best hair award of the group, as it’s hard to argue with her effortless auburn waves.

Anna Kendrick: Seemingly neither ready for summer or for a festive party, the actress took a darker approach, which looked hot—literally. Black on top of black came with her skinny jeans, a leather vest, and a sheer, geometrically printed Joe’s blouse. She carried a chain-strap Coach Legacy flight bag . My feet hurt just a little seeing those heels at an event like this.

Anna Kendrick In Donna Karan Atelier – 2013 Tony Awards

Anna Kendrick In Donna Karan Atelier - 2013 Tony Awards

Anna Kendrick stunned on the red carpet for the 2013 Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday.

The actress looked gorgeous wearing a black-and-blue Donna Karan Atelier gown.

Her strapless black gown, which featured sheer inserts in the bodice, had a sweeping blue ruffle detail cascading to the hem of the train.

Anna styled her beautiful gown with an Edie Parker clutch and Amrapali jewels, which included a complementary sapphire-stone ring.

A chic updo and smoky eyes completed the look.

Despite this being in a fall hue, I adore the look. It’s a huge sidestep away from the twee dresses we’ve come to expect from Anna. I would go as far as to say this is one of her best looks.

Anna Kendrick In Thakoon – Vogue ‘Triple Threats’ Dinner

Anne Kendrick In Thakoon - Vogue 'Triple Threats' Dinner

Actress and Triple Threat video star Anna Kendrick joined fellow starlets the likes of Nikki Reed, Brittany Snow and Dianna Agron at Vogue’s ‘Triple Threat’ dinner, hosted by Sally Singer and Lisa Love, at Goldie’s in Los Angeles last week.

She also indulged in the evening’s pattern play with her dress from Thakoon’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

The glint of gold on the toe caps of Jerome Rousseau’s ‘Flicker’ suede heels provided just enough flash to make this standard black pump more palatable.

As for that gleaming gold choker necklace… I could have done without the fancy pup collar.

Anna Kendrick In Marissa Webb – ‘Drinking Buddies’ 2013 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival Premiere

Anna Kendrick In Marissa Webb - ‘Drinking Buddies’ 2013 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival Premiere

Anna Kendrick was one of many stars to make the trip to Austin, Texas for the 2013 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival, where she attended the premiere of her film, ‘Drinking Buddies’, at the Paramount Theater on Saturday.

Don’t adjust your computer screens; yes, this is Anna wearing a short-suit look from Marissa Webb’s Spring 2013 collection and not one of the nude, embellished, heavenly cocktail dresses we’ve come to associate her with.

She worked a grey tweed jacket with contrasting green trim and matching tweed shorts.

While Anna took inspiration from the model’s styling by wearing ankle-strap pumps instead of her favoured Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps, she opted to wear her jacket sans blouse.

Anna finished up her look with a dark-grey clutch, wavy locks and light makeup.

Anna Kendrick In Christian Dior – 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

Anna Kendrick In Christian Dior - 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala

I was shocked to see Anna Kendrick not wearing nude, blush or any neutral colour on the red carpet at 2nd Street Tunnel in California for the 2013 Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala.

Instead the ‘Twilight’ star donned a rich emerald-green Dior dress.

The satin frock with a bow accent was let down by some uninspiring styling.

A cute clutch, more interesting choice of heels and maybe a pretty lip colour would’ve lifted this look somewhat.

Chopard diamond spiral hair clips and matching earrings provided the finishing touches.

Alberta Ferretti And Vogue Limited Edition Collection Fashion Show & Dinner

Alberta Ferretti Lisa Love

The Alberta Ferretti and Vogue Limited Edition Collection 2013 show and dinner hosted at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California was what fashion dreams are made of. The chichi event brought out a crush of starlets, and we cannot help but be in love with their kaleidoscope of looks—at least most of them.

Kate Beckinsale: The stunning actress posed in a staggering twist on an LBD from Alberta Ferretti Fall 2012. The sexy and structured corset top matched with a solid black skirt, instead of the printed runway version, was the epitome of edgy glamour. So, too, were Kate’s Edie Parker clutch and State Room wavy feather diamond-encrusted earrings. Her Casadei black patent T-strap pumps with the signature ‘Blade’ heel were far better than the plain catwalk pump, too.

Selena Gomez: The newly single entertainer showed off her sultry appeal in a plunging blue cocktail frock plucked from the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 catwalk. She paired it with studded Giuseppe Zanotti nude heels and Melinda Maria jewels. The deep teal-blue shade with its wispy overlay looked all the more sophisticated with Selena’s searing red lip and slicked back updo.

Anna Kendrick: While the color of this starlet’s sheer, light emerald dress was completely on trend, unfortunately this look didn’t translate nearly as dynamically off the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 runway. The dress’s lining was too distracting, and Anna’s clunky Sergio Rossi bronze platforms were a horror, weighing down what should have been a diaphanous look.
