Red Carpet Fashion Awards

True to form Angelina Jolie wore black to “The Tourist” Berlin Premiere tonight.

Whilst I love the idea of her Versace velvet dress having built in gloves – for both style and comfort – I still can’t help wishing for that WOW factor I know is never coming.

For some reason this gothic-vibe she giving us feels really familiar.

Even the voluminous hair has a touch of de ja vu about it (“Mr. And Mrs. Smith” LA Premiere 2005).

I think what I’m trying to say that despite Donatella creating an amazing dress, Angelina doesn’t excite me wearing it.

Had this been worn by Christina Ricci or Megan Fox with red hot lips I think I would be drooling on my keyboard, but I’m not feeling that with Ange.

Angelina Jolie was joined by her husband Brad Pitt and her co-star Johnny Depp on the red carpet for the New York Premiere of her new movie “The Tourist” last night.

I’m truly thankful for many things, but mostly because she’s not wearing black.

She looked beautiful an Atelier Versace angora gown.

Her ivory white long sleeved gown was gathered on one side to reveal a thigh high split.

Through that split we can see her white Ferragamo pumps.

Angelina wore her hair in a half up and half down style, and kept her jewels to a minimum by just accessorized with rectangle shaped pendant earrings.

I really love this look, but I’m not really as blown away as I was hoping to be.

Maybe the white pumps are putting me off, as I’ve never been a fan of white shoes anywhere.

Do let me know if you think this is BDOTW worthy.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were also in France last night for the “Megamind” Paris Premiere.

The couple who really should rename themselves, “Couple In Black,” wore their favourite colour from head-to-toe on the red carpet.

Angelina wore an L’Agence look which included a velvet jacket, beaded top and velvet pants.

I don’t totally hate the look, but I don’t like the pairing of the jacket and pants which are jarring me because they are either two different shade of black or two slightly different velvet textures.

She looks beautiful, but there’s nothing here for me to get excited about.

Predictable black Ferragamo pumps completed her look.

Leighton Meester was your Best Dressed this week wearing a Nanette Lepore Lady Gambler printed dress.

I was surprised to learn that many of you were not happy about her inclusion in the poll because this look was an on-set look rather than a red carpet look.

I think Joy speaks for all those who voted for Leighton when she said, “All of the stars in the poll are styled by some stylist. Why would Rachel Zoe be different than Eric Daman?”

As much as I loved how Leighton’s tropical dress captured my eye, I was totally in love with Angelina Jolie this week.

Promoting “Salt” she gave us a variety of looks and managed to steer clear of black until the very end.

I had a huge internal battle between her Elie Saab dress and the Pamella Roland dress.

Roland wins because it was the most beautiful she looked all week.

She glowed as she took my breath away.

It was fun while it lasted, but Angelina Jolie has decided she’s given us enough to chew on so she returned back to her favourite colour – black.

The actress walked the black carpet at the “Salt” Berlin Premiere in Germany tonight glowing with gorgeousity wearing a black BCBG Max Azria Atelier gown.

It’s been a while since she wore a Max Azria gown.

There was a time when it seemed like she was wearing his looks exclusively.

I love way the gown drapes, but I not crazy about the black necklace.

We know you love black, but couldn’t you have at least picked some silver or gold jewels Ange?
