Get The Look: Katharine McPhee’s InStyle Golden Globes Party Makeup

16th Annual Warner Bros. And InStyle Post-Golden Globe Party - ArrivalsCelebrity makeup artist Kindra Mann worked with Katharine McPhee for the 2015 InStyle and Warner Bros 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards Post-Party on Sunday (January 11).

Kindra said, “We wanted a fun and fresh approach for the red carpet to complement Katharine’s Carolina Herrera dress. Its classic but playful feel was the perfect inspiration for the timeless natural makeup look I created.”

Here’s how to get the look.

She began by prepping her skin with Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield and La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream. She then enhanced her porcelain skin by applying Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation in #4. Using Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Glow, she highlighted and contoured Katharine’s skin and then applied Charlotte Tilbury Cream Blush in Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the cheeks.

For the eyes, she created a slightly neutral brown defused eye using Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Montaigne. A few coats of black Dior Show Mascara completed the eye look.

On the lips, she used Charlotte Tilbury Kissing Lips Lipstick in Bitch Perfect. The result was a soft, polished red carpet look that focused on Katharine’s natural beauty and glowing skin.

Get The Look: America Ferrera’s National Board of Review Gala Wavy Tresses & Dewy Glow

2014 National Board Of Review Gala - ArrivalsCelebrity hairstylist Leonardo Manetti and celebrity makeup artist Linda Hay worked with America Ferrera for the 2014 National Board of Review Gala on Tuesday (January 6).

HAIR

First up, Leonardo Manetti explains his hair inspiration: “We decided on classic curled waves for America at the National Board of Review Gala.”

Here’s how to get the look.

After applying a combination of Oribe Foundation Mist and Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray, he blew out America’s hair. Once dry, he separated the hair into sections (two in front, two on the sides and two in the back) and curled the hair using a one-inch curling iron.

To set, he used a bit of Oribe Impermeable Spray. Then he brushed out the curls into his desired shape and finished with Oribe Superfine Hairspray.

MAKEUP

“Inspired by America’s vintage Valentino dress, we went with a modern classic, the smokey eye and beige lip. It was a fresh complement to the sophisticated little black dress,” Linda said of her beauty inspiration.

Here’s how to get the look.

Linda kept the skin very sheer using Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight to add radiance. She also used Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate for a bit of contour. She then added a splash of blush on the apples of the cheeks using Armani Blush #506.

Next she used Charlotte Tilbury Black Eye Pencil to line the top lid and inside the water line on the bottom lid, blending the pencil line using the darkest shade from the YSL Palette #4. She then used the mid-tone shades of the palette to blend up and away. Linda also used the highlighter shade just under the brow and inside corner of the eye. Under the eye she applied a soft line of the medium shade, followed by heavy layers of L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara.

Linda finished with a nude lip to contrast the eye, using NARS Chubby Lip Pencil in Buenos Aires.
