At first I didn’t love the Prada ‘Lace’ Fall 2008 collection, but after seeing it on the red carpet, it grew on me very quickly. Somehow I don’t even think Cate Blanchett can make me fall in love with the Prada Fall 2009 collection.

The are a few nice pieces here and there, like the finale studded dresses, and the leather trench coats, but overall, it wasn’t to my taste.

The thigh-high fly fishing boots were bizarrely matched with winter shorts, and I can’t see the Captain Caveman fur look, being worn by the most fashion forward magazine editors.

The colour palette consisted of black, rich reds, browns and mustards colour.

I can’t wait to see who can make this work.

Eva Herzigova is the only one to really stand out at this event, because her Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 corset dress, is so different from her previous look earlier yesterday.

I really hated this dress on the runway, because it looked so bulky, but Eva rocks it.

Eva Mendes opted for a red Dolce & Gabbana dress, which was accented with the rosette belt, sans jewels.

She could have really sparkled at this night time event with some added bling.

Fredia Pinto also disappointed in a Dolce & Gabbana pink mini dress with a jeweled rosette belt. That’s because it was very similar to the dress she had worn earlier in the day.

Even the shoes are the same.

I love Kate Hudson’s golden sparkling ensemble, even the cape. But the hair is too mumsy for this look imo.

New mum Naomi Watts looked the most relaxed at this event, wearing a Helmet Lang-esqe suit, with a ruffled collared blouse.

I love the cropped tapered pants, and the turned up sleeves.

Scarlett Johansson continues to slip for me. Although her body looks amazing in this grey animal print dress, she lacks any spark.

Elsa Pataky’s black strapless mini dress with gold embroidery is gorgeous, and her platforms compliment the dress really well, but I am not crazy about her bouffant.

German model Nadja Auermann wore a satin maroon Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 dress with black floral paillettes covering the dress. Those paillettes were accentuated with ivory pearls.

This is a truly stunning creation. There is a lot going on but Nadja wears it so well.

Her fellow German model Claudia Schiffer also wore a dress from Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 collection, but hers was considerably quieter than Nadja’s, but Claudia was equally beautiful.

Miuccia Prada walked the red carpet in her own Fall 2009 collection as you would expect.

In her first public appearance since the Oscars, Freida Pinto arrived at the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2009 show this afternoon, looking gorgeous wearing an ivory Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 mini dress.

The dress had a ruffled detail on one shoulder, and she wore her dress with those outstanding bejeweled belts, that were heavily featured in the Spring 2009 collection.

A black clutch and sandals completed her look.

A short while ago, I said that I was surprised when Elsa Pataky attended an event wearing all black, because this is more like the Elsa I know. Wearing bright colours, daring prints, and edgy looks.

Elsa took on one of the toughest looks from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2009 collection – the voluminous, quarter-back shouldered pieces, and totally rocked it.

Eva Mendes played it safer, and just opted for the runway belt, to go with her purple satin Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Kate Hudson opted for a chocolate Dolce & Gabbana brown suit, with black accents, but her make-up seemed to suit Eva’s look more.

Maybe they switched at the last minute.

Scarlett Johansson, the face of Dolce & Gabbana’s cosmetic line, wore a simple shimmering sheath dress, with jeweled heels and ruby red lips.

After falling in love with the Burberry Prorsum’s Spring 2009 collection, I was really excited to see the Fall 2009 collection.

The Fall collection was full of double breasted trench coats, classic dresses, pleated skirts, all in fall colours of grey, mocha, navy and burgundy. The collection also included knits, tweeds, felt hats, and 6in heels.

If you are a Style.com stalker like me, you would have had a touch of de ja vu whilst looking at the collection.

Designers are always looking to be inspired prior to producing a collection. It looks like Christopher Bailey simply took inspiration from his own Pre-Fall collection.

With her trademark crop slicked back, Rihanna wore a haltered Gucci Fall 2008 dress, which is very much on the folk trend of the Fall season.

Unfortunately I do not think it does her any favours, as it does not flatter her at all.

Mischa Barton is 22 years old, so why is she styling her hair like a 60 year old woman.

Despite the ombre detail on the hem of this Alviero Martini dress, Mischa still manages to make it look very boring.

Italian actress Anita Caprioli brighten up the red carpet in her stunning vibrant violet Givenchy Fall 2008 Couture dress, with matching tights and heels.

This dress is similar, but not the same dress that Hilary Swank wore to Fashion Rocks recently.

Joely Richardson showed off her lean figure in a ivory sequined plunge-neck gown.

Margherita Missoni wore a embellished black dress from the Missoni Fall 2008 collection.

The surprise for me here is that Margherita wore head to toe black, considering her mother’s collections are always so colourful.

This look only works for me from the neck down. Jennifer Lopez’ decision to wear a veil from the Spring 2009 show was very odd. A black veil evokes images of widows at funerals.

The blinged out metallic dress is gorgeous. Such a shame she ruined the overall look.

Matthew McConaughey and his baby-mama, Camilla Alves, got all dressed up in contrasting colours. He was looking mighty fine in a black tux, and she was looking very elegant in a white strapless ruffled gown.

Dita von Teese also went strapless in her ivory corseted Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she wore with a pair of animal print shoes.

Eva Herzigova, Stefano Gabbana and Claudia Schiffer arrived together.

Stefano added a touch of red to his black suit, with his dinky bow tie.

Eva opted for an elaborate white tutu, whilst Claudia brought out the snooze factor with a plain dress which had a white bodice and a black velvet skirt.

Rachel Zoe looked stunning in a fringed white gown.

Fringed dresses were the main feature of Jil Sanders Spring 2009 collection.

Monica Bellucci opens her white fur stole, to reveal her fuchsia strapless mermaid gown.

Versace’s Spring 2009 collection had a lot of structured, architectural-type pieces. Ultra-short mini-dresses were sculpted to form a tiny waist, and skirts were pleated and folded to create drama.

I particularly loved the constructed hearts, which appeared on a few pieces, as one big heart, or a flutter of smaller hearts.

Usually when I look at a Versace collection, I notice the gowns, but many of the pieces were ultra-short minis. Also on display were skinny capris, sleek metallic jackets,

The colour palette consisted yellows, light blues, black, bronze and white.

Other stand out pieces were the Julie Verhoeven prints as worn by Jourdan Dunn above. These were used on swimsuits, short-fitted dresses, maxi dresses and handbags.

I can so picture Cameron Diaz wearing some of those ultra short minis on the red carept.

No celebrities in the front row, as there were many parties last night and Versace’s show was late in the evening.
