Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Mens 23 Oct

It was another busy night on the red carpet for the heroes of Hollywood. Here is a quick look at what they wore.

Benedict Cumberbatch: The British actor joined Lupita Nyong’o for the opening of the Bally flagship store in London. Wearing a more casual look than we’ve seen from the usually suited and booted actor, this Bally look featuring a pinstriped blazer for added sharpness gets a rousing thumbs up from me.

Eddie Redmayne: Joining fellow Brit star Felicity Jones for the screening of their latest movie, ‘The Theory Of Everything’, the former model was decked out in Gucci once again, also working a semi-casual look. Donning a white dress shirt and camel ’60s sport trousers, the royal-blue plain-knit crew-neck sweater injects a touch of charm, with the sunglasses giving the look a cool finish.

Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey In Dolce & Gabbana – 28th American Cinematheque Award Event

Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey In Dolce & Gabbana - 28th American Cinematheque Award Event

Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey attended the 28th American Cinematheque Award event held in his honour at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (October 21) in Beverly Hills, California.
They were, of course, both wearing Dolce & Gabbana for this occasion.

Camila Alves: Looking as lovely as ever, the TV host opted for a more classic brand of glamour, wearing a long-sleeved black gown spliced with lace panels, which she styled with an Aldo clutch and Neil Lane jewels.

Matthew McConaughey: The actor wore a classic tux with a luxe velvet blazer with satin lapels styled with a Boucheron ring. Quite a suave look – no wonder Dolce & Gabbana continue to be his brand of choice.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear red carpet 21 october

Here is a quick rundown of some of the gentlemen who took to the red carpet yesterday (October 20) evening.

Ryan Reynolds: The actor joined his wife, Blake Lively, on the red carpet for the Angel Ball in New York City. Like Blake, he also wore Gucci, donning a Made to Order peak-lapel two-button Marseille tuxedo with a black evening shirt, navy silk bowtie and black leather lace-up shoes.

Eddie Redmayne: Making it a Gucci double, the British actor joined co-star Felicity Jones on the red carpet for ‘The Theory of Everything’ New York premiere decked out in a dark-blue Gucci Fall 2014 velvet ‘Dylan’ suit. We love the actor for his dabbling in colourful suits, but he looks just as good when he takes a walk on the dark side.

Mens 16 October

Here’s a quick menswear roundup.

James Marsden: The actor joined his ‘The Best Of Me’ co-star Michelle Monaghan for the 20th Annual Fulfillment Fund Stars Benefit Gala held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (October 14) in Beverly Hills, California. He wore a navy cotton jacket with a military-taped lapel from Kent and Curwen’s Spring 2015 collection, styled with a mahogany tie which matched his patent-leather shoes. Yet another swoon-worthy look from the guy who is ruling the red carpet at the moment.

Brad Pitt: When I saw the actor on the red carpet last night (October 15) for ‘The Fury’ Washington D.C. premiere, the first thing to come to mind was George “Pornstache” Mendez from ‘Orange is the New Black’. ‘Tache aside, the actor looked very suave in his charcoal-grey suit.

Miles Teller: The actor attended the gala premiere for ‘Whiplash’ during the 58th BFI London Film Festival at Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday (October 15) in London, England. Not letting the non-stop rain dampen his suit, the actor looked very dapper in his dark-wood windowpane notched-lapel suit. Much like James Marsden, the actor has showcased impeccable style all year.

Channing Tatum In Gucci & Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Marchesa Notte – ‘Foxcatcher’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Channing Tatum In Gucci & Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Marchesa Notte - 'Foxcatcher' New York Film Festival Premiere

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum brought a double dose of hotness to the red carpet for the ‘Foxcatcher’ premiere during the 52nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Friday (October 10) in New York City.

Channing Tatum: While we eagerly await the July 1, 2015 scheduled release of Magic Mike XXL, the actor is currently promoting his latest movie, ‘Foxcatcher’, which has been generating Oscar buzz. Sticking to his favourite brand, Channing looked as handsome as ever wearing a Gucci Made to Order brown check notch-lapel ‘Dylan’ suit with a steel-blue shirt sans tie for a more laidback, yet still smart feel.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum: Mrs Tatum was Channing’s perfect plus one, looking gorgeous wearing a Marchesa Notte floral cocktail dress accented with a lace overlay which lends a romantic air to this design. This look proves once again that those ‘Nudist’ sandals work with just about anything and aren’t disappearing from the red carpet any time soon.

men 10 oct

Here is a look at two smart gents who took to the red carpet yesterday evening (October 9).

Ansel Elgort: The young actor joined Kaitlyn Dever for the ‘Men, Women & Children’ London premiere. This is taking it up a level. Working a strong graphic-print look from Dior Homme, I love those black calfskin strapped derbies with black and white rubber soles which give this look the cool flourish it deserved. Very well played.

Jeremy Renner: The ‘Bourne Legacy’ actor joined Mary Elizabeth Winstead on the red carpet for the ‘Kill The Messenger’ New York screening wearing a more classic look from Dolce & Gabbana. The pinstriped midnight-blue three-piece suit with a petrol-blue tie is tailored to perfection to allow Jeremy to stand out in the most sophisticated way possible.

James Marsden In Thom Sweeney – ‘The Best Of Me’ LA Premiere

James Marsden In Thom Sweeney - 'The Best Of Me' LA Premiere

James Marsden joined his beautiful co-star Michelle Monaghan on the red carpet for the LA premiere of ‘The Best Of Me’ held at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live on Tuesday (October 7) in Los Angeles, California.

Bringing menswear back to the forefront, the actor makes us swoon in his Thom Sweeney notched-lapel cool-blue suit, which brings out those baby-blue eyes.

It’s not just the colour of the suit that should be admired, but also the sleek styling, consisting of a striped shirt, grey tie and Givenchy shoes.

While Eddie Redmayne is probably the front runner for best-dressed man of the year, I would say James should also be in consideration for his consistency and ability to always impress with something new.
