Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were no shortage of men making waves this week with their style statements on the red carpet—and on the stage. Here’s a roundup of their latest looks.

Charlie Hunnam: Charlie joined the league of ladies at the London premiere of ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ on Tuesday (May 10)—and he looked quite regal on the red carpet in his Ralph Lauren three-piece suit that

Orlando Bloom: Suavely straightforward at the Shanghai premiere of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ on Thursday (May 11), Orlando donned a navy Prada suit that was enhanced by the light-pink button-down underneath—a striking and unexpected treat.

David Beckham: Also playing with a pastel-hued dress shirt, David skipped the dark-suited convention and dressed in a tweedy, raffia Ralph Lauren ensemble when he joined Charlie for the ‘King Arthur’ premiere.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

A few men have been making the rounds to support their respective films. Here’s a look at what they wore.

Charlie Hunnam: Charlie joined the ladies at the LA premiere of ‘King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword’ was held on Monday (May 8). Looking sharp as usual, he kept it simple and straightforward in a traditional Prada suit with Christian Louboutin ‘So Charles’ brogues.

Michael Fassbender: At the ‘Alien Covenant’ movie presentation in Madrid on Monday (May 8), Michael went low-key handsome in a top-to-toe Brioni ensemble that subbed in a short-sleeve sweater for a dress shirt and sport coat. It was a nice change of pace.

Djimon Hounsou: Also at the LA premiere of ‘King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword’ Djimon impressed in his Ermenegildo Zegna blue-gray suit that he uniquely personalized with a patterned tie and pocket square as well as spike-embellished suede shoes.

2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men also had their moment at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday (May 7) in LA, with a range of experimental looks.

Zac Efron: The ‘Baywatch’ hunk may have been in all-white, but that didn’t keep this ensemble from having an edgy attitude. The holographic sheen of his jacket and the distressed, ripped denim made sure of that.

Brandon Flynn
: Tapestry took on a new, low-key meaning with this Saint Laurent Spring 2017 patterned bomber jacket from the women’s collection, styled with black denim and a John Hardy bracelet.

Tommy Dorfman: Apologies to Zara Larsson, but Tommy gets the prize for the real go-go boots of the night with these DSquared2 Spring 2017 designs. I really couldn’t take the rest of the look seriously if I tried, given that footwear. But, this Vivienne Westwood MAN Fall 2017 dudes-in-dresses moment certainly had enough chutzpah to compete with the glitter.

Jhene Aiko In DKNY & Big Sean In Dior Homme – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Big Sean and Jhene Aiko attended the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

Big Sean must have been feeling a bit crafts-y in his Dior Homme Spring 2017 patchwork suit, which he made smolder with his strong gaze.

As for Jhene, she properly balanced out the extreme proportions of her wide-leg DKNY Spring 2017 pinstripe trousers with a cropped bandeau that showed off her toned midriff.

An Emm Kuo ‘Ferrat’ clutch, Velina Jewelry and Lili Claspe jewelry completed her look.

‘Alien: Covenant’ World Premiere Menswear Roundup

A few men joined Katherine Waterstone and Dakota Blue Richards on the red carpet for the world premiere of ‘Alien: Covenant’ in London on Thursday (May 4).

Michael Fassbender: The actor looked sharp in a three-piece Brioni suit in a warm, dark charcoal hue. The tie struck me as a bit wide, but all in all, a handsome look for Michael.

Jussie Smollett: Also going the three-piece route, Jussie buttoned up in this plaid gray double-breasted vest styled with matching sport coat and trousers. He accessorised with a Henry London watch. His pants could have been better tailored at the bottom, if we were to nitpick.

2017 Met Gala Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

As one of the biggest nights in fashion, the 2017 Met Gala boasted a number of menswear looks that rose to the occasion on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Lewis Hamilton
: Scoring high style marks, Lewis’s green velvet Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria tuxedo was graced by Buccellati Collection diamonds and metallic-laced slippers. It was effortlessly luxe with an impossibly cool edge.

Alexander Skarsgard
: I was head over heels for this impeccable, white-hot Ermenegildo Zegna Couture tuxedo.

Rami Malek: We saw many ladies in red, and I loved how Rami brought the hue of the evening in this Dior Homme suit, accented by a floral pin and shiny patent dress shoes. Handsomely on theme—in all the best ways.

2017 Met Gala Couples

In addition to Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanch, there were a few other couples who attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Eddie Redmayne & Hannah Bagshawe: While they may not have fully embraced the theme like Pharrell and Helen, Eddie and Hannah still made for a pretty partnership in Prada. The deep jewel-toned hue of her amethyst gown, awash in the label’s signature embellishment, was striking against his midnight-navy suit that was precision-tailored with just the right amount of quirk in its oversized buttons.

Armie Hammer & Elizabeth Chambers Hammer: Coordinating in all black, both Armie and Elizabeth wore Ralph Lauren ensembles. However, no offense to Armie, no one was looking at his monochromatic moment that was nothing if not handsomely sleek. But, with her sheer lace gown, Elizabeth commanded attention—even if we’ve seen this leggy look done countless times over. Its ubiquity has cancelled out any hope of the avant-garde, although a more sculptural, origami-style ’do might have helped inch this ensemble closer to the night’s theme.
