Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Although many fellows were at the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17), a few others were hopping about to their own respective premieres and events.

Pedro Pascal: Pedro walked the line in his Ermenegildo Zegna Couture felt suit that offered a linear twist on tradition at the London premiere of ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ on Monday (September 18).

Dave Franco: Dave had me at hello at the ‘The LEGO Ninjago Movie’ premiere in Carlsbad, California on Saturday (September 16). With a nod to retro inspiration gone modern, he looked sharp in his Salvatore Ferragamo suit styled with a playful, bear-print shirt and Christian Louboutin ‘Cousin Greg’ shoes.

Colin Firth: Also at the ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ premiere, Colin carried the classic torch in his Tom Ford suit that fit him like a glove. Plus, he gets bonus points for the geek-handsome glasses.

2017 Emmy Awards Menswear Roundup

The 2017 Emmy Awards were last night (September 17) in LA, and they delivered a number of memorable looks from the menswear department.

Caleb McLaughlin: The ‘Stranger Things’ actor may only be 15, but age has had no impact on his trendsetting, grown-up style. He dressed to impress in a custom Garçon Couture tuxedo that I loved for its bold purple, floral dinner jacket; the colour of which added snazzy, youthful fun to the look. Slim trousers and slipper-style loafers completed the suave ensemble.

Noah Schnapp:
‘Stranger Things’ will not be faulted for not having quite the stylish set of young guns, as I’m even more obsessed with 13-year-old Noah’s style. Statement jackets and cool-kid looks are his current M.O., and that can be thoroughly witnessed in this Balmain outfit. From the royal, velvet military jacket, to his embroidered slippers, he is showing guys three times his age how it’s done.

Finn Wolfhard: Rounding out the ‘Stranger Things’ trio, Finn took a safer approach in a black Prada tuxedo that still wins him style points, though.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Our final menswear roundup of the week serves up three savvy styles.

Javier Bardem: The actor joined co-star Jennifer Lawrence for the ‘mother!’ New York premiere looking very dapper in his Gucci green Heritage suit, proving that simple and classic is often best.

Future: The rapper donned a full Dior Homme look which was smart while oozing contemporary flair. Methinks the turtleneck only served to show off the bling.

Zayn Malik: The singer usually gives us a contemporary or fashion-forward look, but for the US Weekly Most Stylish New Yorkers event he demonstrated his love for a time-honored, classic Tom Ford three-piece suit.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here’s midweek roundup of the men who have been spotted on the red-carpet circuit at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival and beyond.

Garrett Hedlund: There’s no denying that Garrett did look like quite the charmer at the ‘Mudbound’ TIFF premiere on Tuesday (September 12), despite the stuffier nature of his three-piece Dolce & Gabbana suit that could have used some proper tailoring through the pants, as well.

Luke Evans: I much preferred Luke’s Dolce & Gabbana ensemble at the ‘Professor Marston & The Wonder Woman’ TIFF premiere on Tuesday, as the aubergine colour of the suit mixed with the sky-blue shirt and paisley printed tie was such a handsome combo.

Andrew Garfield: The ‘Breathe’ TIFF premiere on Monday (September 11) had the actor dressing up in a charcoal Tom Ford suit styled with a wide, textural tie for added impact—and a less expected play on proportions, when a skinnier tie might have been anticipated with the slim-line jacket and pants.

Kate Mara In David Koma – ‘Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Kate Mara was joined by her Dior Homme-clad husband Jamie Bell for the Toronto Film Festival premiere of ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ on Tuesday (September 12).

Upon seeing the actress in her David Koma Fall 2017 mesh dress, I wanted to facetime her long-time stylist Johnny Wujek and give him a virtual high-five for nailing the lining of this dress, because lord knows we would’ve rolled our eyes had she stepped out in the runway version of this look.

David Koma doesn’t really do dainty, but with the modifications and Kate’s styling she gave this look a new lease of life.

Silver Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps completed her look.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men didn’t take a break this weekend either, with the 2017 Toronto Film Festival summoning many of them to the red carpet—plus a few other occasions.

Bill Skarsgard: At the ‘It’ Stockholm premiere, Bill wore a tweedy, printed Bottega Veneta suit that he enhanced with the deep navy dress shirt. I just wish he had buttoned the top button of his jacket.

Alan Cumming: At the ‘Battle of the Sexes’ TIFF premiere on Sunday (September 10), Alan showed off his quirky style in a Stella McCartney double-breasted pinstriped suit. The tapered pants didn’t really do the look any favours, and I generally have the same reaction to men’s platform shoes as I do to women’s—being.

Aubrey Drake Graham: At ‘The Carter Effect’ TIFF premiere on Saturday (September 9), the entertainer dressed up in a Prada ensemble that was emboldened by its aubergine palette.
