Best Dressed Of The Week, Blog
Where’s Eva Riccobono in her first Armani Privé look on the Venetian beach? She was the best dressed!
+ 1,at least her lace dresses are so much better and glamorous than Cate Blanchett’s
Holland Roden in Naeem Khan and George Clooney in Giorgio Armani.
I’m pretty surprised that Taylor Swift at the VMA’s isn’t on here. Some thought it was her best look to date.
Me too. And I would’ve liked to see Cate in Christopher Kane too–far more than the Armani. But, the poll maker has the final say, and she knows what she is doing, so I try not to question her!
My favorite of these is Sandra Bullock in Alex Perry; Selena Gomez and Cate Blanchett runners-up.
I appreciate Holland Roden’s presentation but just can’t get past my personal dislike the of big-gown/pants combination.
Darren Criss for the men.
A lot of fantastic looks but this week’s title has to go to Sandra Bullock in the Alex Perry frock. God knows when we will be seeing her wearing such a colorful piece again.
Holland wore it best
Holland Roden, hands down. She’s like a breath of fresh air in her chic dramatic look.
Darren Criss for the men. I like how he kept it classy yet exciting for the event with the fun, but not ott, shoes and the deep maroon color of his suit is gorgeous.
It’s crazy that a teen wolf star is beating all of these huge A-listers, and whats crazier is that with that outfit, I think she actually deserves to be winning. I am still stunned by the beauty of this look. When she came on the live feed, I couldn’t breathe. She really brought her A-game.
I loved Sandra in Alex Perry and Cate in Armani, but Holland wins this one, hands down. She looks so classy, chic, poised and beautiful.
As for the men, none of them really impressed me, tbh.
I went for Sandra Bullock in Alex Perry as it was so refreshing to see her in amazing colour. The dress fit so well and she looks fresh and beautiful – plus I love Alex Perry. I also voted for Adam Lambert as he has his own style and it works for him so well.
Well, I knew I would likely be in the minority, but I didn’t think it would be that vast a minority, as I voted for Ali in Marchesa. I absolutely adored that stunning (last we’ll be seeing of) summer dress. It managed to be beautifully feminine, yet gracefully structured. And the purple pumps–egads! Just outstanding IMO. On the compete opposite end of the spectrum, I voted for Jared Leto for the men. I know I’m biased as it is, but he just looked like a total rock god–at the VMAs, which is, obviously the place to do so. Total standout at that show. Ya win some, and in my case this week, ya lose some.
Holland is my favourite . She managed to look super sophisticated and unpredictable at the same time and I really hope she’ll be the winner. Among the other contenders I really love Sandra Bullock and Selena Gomez.
Sandra Bullock in J. Mendel and Ethan Hawke in Dior Homme (difficult choice between him and Jared Leto).
Sandra Bullock in Alex Perry and George Clooney in Giorgio Armani. Easy choices!
Can’t wait to see Scarlett Johansson and Dakota Fanning at Venice. Hope they’ll bring their A game.
Have a nice weekend, FC!
Ok, that first look is flat out ugly. She has curtains attached to her arse. The more I see Kate Moss’s dress the more I love it.
OMG your comment is spot on !
Sandra wins this for me and Jared Leto for the men.
I voted for Kate.
George & Sandra win @Venice Film Festival!
What a tough week! There are some looks in this gallery I don’t get at all, but the ones I do like were in a fierce competition. Tao just ahead of Mrs. O and Sandra for me.
Holland was by far my favorite. Her look took my breath away.
+1 can’t even handle how stunning she looked.
I’m surprised not to see Francesca Cavallin in Barbara Casasola, or Eva Riccobono in either of her Armani Privé gowns on the list. Alas. If Roden hadn’t made such a clunky shoe choice, she’d probably be my winner, so I’m probably rolling Bullock. But In my heart, it’s Riccobono in her Armani Privé at the beach photocall.
Roden probably needed some height. The girl is tiny. Not gonna hold her shoe choice against her in this situation. Gotta work with what your momma gave ya.
i like kate moss dress, but don’t like the shoes (
also i love will smith’s outfit, he always looks fresh and stylish
I have the feeling that with the BDOTW votes there’re only one rule: the bigger the best. It’s a pity that cocktail dresses or street styles never have a chance.
FC, Could it be possible to make two list??? One with evening looks and other less formal.
I am sorry, but I don’t think making two list is a good idea. Plenty of non-formal looks have won in the past and this also would create a lot more work.
I agree. Making two lists is just not practical.
Sandra and Will or George.
Holland, hands down. That look is perfection from head to toe.
I voted for Selena, I think she looks amazing. Would have voted for Holland, but I think her dress was inappropriate for the VMA’s. It wasn’t the oscars and she is not a muscian. Way overdressed!
Disagree about Holland. I think the VMA’s are about wearing something different, unexpected, and fun, and people definitely always go dramatic for this, musician or not. I applaud her for doing something that’s out there. Also, I doubt she gets to go to the oscars so this is the only place someone like her can wear something like this and it’s the drama I was looking for when I tuned into the vmas last week. Glad that at least she brought it. Only liked her and Selena but my final vote went to Holland.
Darren’s suit is nice but not appropriate to the occasion – the VMA’s should be a moment for taking it forward and a little sexy. I think Adam Lambert’s Lanvin with those edgy shoes was perfection.
Selena Gomez & Adam Lambert for me.
Adam looking glamrock sharp in that suit & oozes sex appeal! Selena is just sexy. Can’t wait to see what she looks like at 30!
Adam Lambert’s outfit for the VMA does it for me. His total look, from top to toe was stupendous, and gave class and edge to the show where he presented.
Adam models perfection, and to my eyes, he looks the most comfortable and striking.
Adam Lambert is always edgy, elegant, fashion forward and always interesting and appropriate for the occasion. He’s never boring or predictable and not afraid to set a trend. He appreciates fashion and respects creative design and wearability. Loved his shoes at the VMAs. His lean body and perfect posture are runway model worthy. So exciting to see!
I’m suspicious that perhaps Adam’s fan site got wind of this poll. Darren was far ahead until the tail end, and then suddenly Adam’s numbers and comments spiked. Just sayin’.
Lol it’s just a poll. Anyway I voted for Ethan, he looked really classy and I loved his suit, but Adam’s Lanvin suit was cool too. It’s not the best look for Darren at all, sorry. The color was ridiculous imo.
Nicolas Cage looks like a wax model.
