You couldn’t help but take notice of Lena Headey on the red carpet at the 2012 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress went against the nude and citrus trend opting for more drama wearing a black Armani Privé dress.
Her silk and lace spaghetti straps dress encrusted with black paillettes was styled with a black silk netting overlay, creating an ethereal effect.
Do you think this look is too dramatic for a sunny Sunday evening, or was she right to make an effort to stand out?

She would’ve looked better in one of her costumes…
A dozen kinds of awful – I actually gasped when I saw this. Part is the contrast between the regal beauty of her character on Game of Thrones, and it’s really not fair to bring that into the equation – but I can’t help it. But this would be tacky any way you look at it. I really don’t need to see anybody’s underwear on the red carpet, and combined with all those tattoos — just trashy. Perhaps someone else could pull this look off an make it look classy, but not in this case.
this gown in pictures isn’t doing any justice.
this dress was AMAZING in real life, and she was so mystic on RC.
I find it much more tacky than dramatic. If she wanted to stand out this was def not a good shot.
Too dramatic and too gothic for my liking. Actually, I would have never thought that this is Armani Privé.

It feels a bit out of place with the hot/sunny/summery tone of the event, but this look really suits her tough/rock style, so I kinda like it.
Finding it hard to believe that this is Armani Prive…it looks so cheap, like an Elvira costume. Not loving it at all.
Some tattoos are truly works of art but still read biker chick to me when they are this large and prominent. It’s like having jewelry that you can never take off — there is less flexibility in evoking different moods. That’s why I’m surprised how much I like this look. Darkly elegant.
I’m surprised by how much I like this too.
I love this look as well. It is such a STARK contrast to her Game of Thrones charater and the entire look works for me, personally, tattoos and all. Especially the hint of blond streak amidst all that black hair.
Great dress, beautiful girl, ugly match. I don’t know why but for some reason I don’t like it, considering all the other dresses seen so far… No.
I like it and I don’t know why… Maybe it’s because she looks like she’s not trying hard like it’s part of her personnality. I think it’s the type of dress that suits strong and dark characters like her. I can imagine AJ wearing this dress.
This is just too somber for my taste.
Goth-beautiful!!i like it and her face is just amazing!
I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I’m kind of ambivalent about it. Maybe if there were a little less material… Also, I don’t like the lacquered hair.
My feelings exactly.
I don’t know why but I like it. I don’t see it that dark or goth.
I like it because she stayed true to her style.
I absolutely love this, it’s understated and yet unique. Best dress of the evening for me.
this is clearly left over netting from one of the battle scenes in the show. it should be returned. or burned.
I think she looks awesome. I love the gothic look. To me she stands out in a good way.
