Kristen Wiig took to the red carpet on Sunday evening for the 2012 Emmy Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
The ‘Best Actress in a Comedy’ nominee chose her go-to designer, Balenciaga, for the evening.
While most actresses donned floor-length gowns, Kristen stood out in her light chiffon tea-length dress which has been slightly modified from the version which took to the runway for Spring 2006.
The feminine and airy dress, may seem a little too casual, but I find this look very refreshing.
A gold Judith Leiber clutch perfectly complemented her dress.

I like this on her, but shame about the shoes.
Dull, bland and underwhelming. With a delicate strappy sandal and hair in soft updo this would´ve worked better.
The dress slightly washes her out. The shoes is not a good look.
When I think of Balenciaga, I think of color or crazy prints.
I love the dress, and if doen right I don’t even mind short dresses, but this just feels too casual. I adore it as a look, but this is more indie spirits or film premiere, not Emmys, appropriate.
I think she is usually a disaster and this is time is no different. Looks like a nightie. Shoes are tragic.
Kristen is very very low-key. Even Kristen Stewart would’ve worn a gown. But this is very Kristen Wiig of Kristen Wiig. It works for her.
Wow, she can be the next Nicolas’s muse. I think that would be fun. She’s so funny and interesting, unlike some “boring celebrity” that shall be remained nameless…
A little too casual for the Emmys, and those shoes are a disaster.
I like the dress though I agree it is too much like lingerie. But when you get to her feet–it’s like she forgot to change shoes after taking out the trash. So sad.
She’s kind of slumping, and the dress feels like lingerie/beachwear. It is too informal, and MY GOSH WOMAN WEAR A COLOR! LOL.

I much prefer Kristen’s version of this dress to that of the model. That being said, I don’t particularly care for this at a major red-carpet event.
She has spruced the dress up nicely with a dressy clutch but then she puts on bank-teller pumps. Why?!? If she had worn festive shoes, I think the look might have worked.

I absolutely adore this look from the ankles up. So fresh – however, not the best choice for the occasion and she shoes are a no! I am in two minds about this look
