Teyonah Parris In Jeffrey Dodd – ‘Slave Play’ Opening Night Reception

Teyonah Parris In Jeffrey Dodd - 'Slave Play' Opening Night Reception

Teyonah Parris attended the ‘Slave Play’ opening night reception at B Bar and Grill on Sunday (December 9) in New York City.

While I’m not 100% sold on the fit of the blazer, the azure-blue hue and Teyonah’s beauty sells this Jeffrey Dodd Resort 2019 suit to me.

I love the contrast lapels and topstich detailing. It has the same dynamic vibe as Cardi B’s Valery Kōvalska suit.

If I could change one thing, it would be white pumps or sandals over off-white.

‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ New York Film Festival Premiere

‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ New York Film Festival Premiere

KiKi Layne was joined on the red carpet by Regina King and Teyonah Parris for the New York Film Festival premiere of ‘If Beale Street Could Talk,’ on Tuesday (October 9).

Regina King: The actress wore a Michael Kors Collection dress with an elegantly structured cut, that spotlights a black and white floral print for the Fall 2018 season. I adore the classically feminine shape, and the effortless styling which included Nicholas Kirkwood ‘VV’ pumps and Chopard jewels.

Teyonah Parris: We know Teyonah for her love of ‘go big’ gowns, but on this occasion she opted for a more refined silhouette in this vintage Yves Saint Laurent pink dress which was oozing glamour. I was a little disappointed by the black clutch with this look.

Teyonah Parris In Marchesa – ‘CHI-RAQ’ New York Premiere

Teyonah Parris In Marchesa - 'CHI-RAQ' New York Premiere

Teyonah Parris attended the ‘CHI-RAQ’remiere on Tuesday (December 1) in New York City.

The actress has never met a billowing ballgown or up-and-coming designer she didn’t love, but on this occasion the look was streamline and mainstream.

As I said before Teyonah always delights on the red carpet; and this Marchesa crystal and threadwork embroidered ombre styled with a silver clutch and Marchesa ‘Clara’ shoes was no exception.

Those who are familiar with Teyonah’s style won’t be surprised that this piece was imbued with a twirl feature which came curtsey of the black draped fringe cape.

This look would’ve been perfect for me had she worn a flesh-coloured undergarments.

Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 7th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 7th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the presenters and guests who attended the 7th annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 14) in Los Angeles, California.

Cate Blanchett: Looking so very statuesque, the Australian actress wore an Armani Privé black asymmetrical modernistic with black velvet trousers. Her classic, yet modern look was styled with Casadei cut-out sandals.

Saoirse Ronan: The ‘Brooklyn’ actress brought some much needed colour to the event dressed in an Emilia Wickstead Fall 2015 pleated and printed frock styled with Alexander McQueen heels. I love the additional pop of pink to the lips.

Zooey Deschanel: While this Kate Spade New York colour-block fit and flare dress is perfectly in tune with Zooey’s style, I don’t feel it was quite right for this occasion. The look was styled with Wolford tights.

Teyonah Parris In Francesca Miranda – 2015 Emmy Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA - SEPTEMBER 20: Actress Teyonah Parris attends the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 20, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

Teyonah Parris made a dramatic entrance at the 2015 Emmy Awards held on Sunday night (September 20) at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Swirling around the red carpet, the ‘Mad Men’ actress worked the long layered skirt and train of her Francesca Miranda ball gown to its full advantage.

As a result, this black-and-white polka-dot design was total fun mixed with a still sophisticated stance.

I would have just styled the look with a slightly sleeker and less voluminous, beauty pageant ’do,

Teyonah Parris In Keep Sake The Label & John Paul Ataker – ‘Straight Outta Compton’ LA Premiere

Teyonah Parris In CMeo Collective & John Paul Ataker - 'Straight Outta Compton' LA Premiere

Teyonah Parris attended the premiere of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ on Monday (August 10) in Los Angeles, California.

It’s always a delight to see the ‘Mad Men’ actress on the red carpet.

Not only does she possess an infectious smile and colourful personality, but you’re guaranteed not to be bored by her look.

On this occasion I love how the sharp panels bring architectural edge to her strapless Keep Sake The Label bustier top, while John Paul Ataker trousers inject some colour.

Gold accessories including Kenneth Cole sandals rounded out the look to perfection.

8th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon Red Carpet Roundup

8th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the other looks from the 8th annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday (February 19) in Beverly Hills, California. Sadly it doesn’t include Lupita Nyong’o, who wore Peter Pilotto ‘Hendrix’ dress but decided to skip the red carpet.

Teyonah Parris: The ‘Mad Men’ actress is one person you can never miss on a red carpet. She may not be wearing a fabulous gown, but here she hits us with a bright emerald hue and modern suiting design by Kimberly Goldson. Factor in that studded clutch and lace pumps and we have yet another winning look from the actress.

Chanel Iman: As we know, Chanel loves a gown even more than Teyonah does, so even though this was a luncheon I was still shocked she didn’t stick to the tried and true. The model wore a sporty striped Jonathan Simkhai Pre-Fall 2015 racer dress styled with braided Brian Atwood ‘Olive’ sandals and a Rodo clutch.

Samira Wiley: Forgoing the ladies-who-lunch frock, the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ actress served up her own style of luncheon loveliness wearing an Azede Jean-Pierre Spring 2015 crop top and trousers featuring decorative embroidery.

Teyonah Parris In Amato by Furne One – 2015 NAACP Image Awards

46th NAACP Image Awards Presented By TV One - Arrivals
Teyonah Parris swept onto the scene at the 2015 NAACP Image Awards on Friday (February 6), hosted at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress literally owned the red carpet, shutting it down in her glorious Amato by Furne One blush-nude gown.

This confection was a work of art with its shimmering embellished plunge neckline, hourglass silhouette, and stunning sheer overlay.

I love Teyonah’s interpretation of the design, as she twirled the tulle and worked the dress to its full advantage without a hint of try-hard. Her signature, bold updo also added a beautifully unexpected edge.

This look can be summed up in one word: Breathtaking.

Elle’s 21st Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration Red Carpet Roundup

Elle’s 21st Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the attendees from Elle’s 21st annual Women In Hollywood celebration held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday (October 20) in Beverly Hills, California.

Renee Zellweger: I honestly didn’t recognise Renee. It’s the hair that threw me: for such a long time the actress has been perfect from the neck down, never paying much attention to her hair; however on this occasion her golden locks were teased into lovely waves. Dressed in a Carolina Herrera LBD with lace sleeves, the look was styled with gold accessories for a festive flourish.

Bella Thorne: The teen star wore a mustard-hued Gucci Fall 2014 dress styled with a mish-mash of accessories including nude peep-toes and a black clutch. I think black sandals would’ve worked better here.

Liberty Ross: The model wore a vintage Versace black dress with a plunging neckline and sexy open back, plus a tan leather panel around the waist which is throwing me off liking this look. Most bizarre addition. Especially when you see it from the back.

Teyonah Parris In Christian Siriano – 2014 Emmy Awards

Teyonah Parris In Christian Siriano - 2014 Emmy Awards

Teyonah Parris blew me away on the red carpet at the 2014 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday (August 25) in Los Angeles, California, and I’m sure she will do the same to you.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress has always had a love for colour and print, and this Christian Siriano lime silk overlay gown with a striped bodice from the Resort 2015 collection has it ALL.

Colour, personality, vibrancy and a fun-loving spirit that will etch this look in my memory forever.

Styled with a Carrera y Carrera ring, drop earrings, a topknot and that infectious smile, she was easily of my favourites on this red carpet.

What a breath of fresh air. I’m gonna sit back and soak this one in.

Teyonah Parris In Philip Armstrong - ‘Mad Men’ Season 7 LA Premiere

Teyonah Parris joined her co-stars January Jones, Kiernan Shipka, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks and Jessica Pare on the red carpet for the ‘Mad Men’ Season 7 premiere at the ArcLight Cinemas on Wednesday (April 2) in Hollywood, California.

Working a directional faux-hawk, the actress dazzled in a tropical shade of blue, wearing a Philip Armstrong Spring 2014 crepe pencil dress emboldened with an embroidered collar.

The figure-hugging frock was styled with a cool magenta lip, L’enfant Terrible silver-and-nude sandals and a silver Tyler Alexandra clutch.

As always, very well played.

Teyonah Parris In Hervé Léger by Max Azria – Vanity Fair and Maybelline Toast To ‘Mad Men’

Teyonah Parris In Hervé Léger by Max Azria - Vanity Fair and Maybelline Toast To 'Mad Men'

Teyonah Parris attended the Vanity Fair and Maybelline toast to ‘Mad Men’ held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Friday evening.

The actress –who usually styles her hair into an intricate updo—went for a voluminous bouffant on this occasion while wearing a Herve Leger by Max Azria ‘Jackyln’ yellow and black jacquard strapless bandage gown.

Her dress does an amazing job of giving her a sexy silhouette and elongating her petite frame.

Styling included a black L.K. Bennett clutch, an Effy Jewely ring, Doves earrings and Ruthie Davis heels.
