Evan Rachel Wood In Altuzarra – 2018 Met Gala

Evan Rachel Wood glistened at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, joining Rihanna, Dakota Fanning and Princess Beatrice.

The ‘Westworld’ actress was clad in Altuzarra from head to toe. The counterpoint of the black under-layer against the gilded opulence of the golden topper is most striking. Some might take issue with the heavy effect the layering presents but it’s part of what makes it so striking. Plus, the bare arms and open neck provide just enough relief.

No headpiece or dramatic makeup were necessary. In fact, the minimal beauty look actually enhances the ethereal nature of the ensemble.

‘Westworld’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

The cast of ‘Westworld’ continue to make the rounds. They attended the Tribeca Film Festival premiere on Thursday (April 19) in New York City.

Evan Rachel Wood: Falling for the charms of tailored separates once again, the actress was outfitted in Mugler. The bright white jacket against the deep black top and pants has such sharpness from the contrasting shades, but it’s the smaller touches that elevate it from simple tuxedo dressing. The statement shoulders mimic the pointed toes and the embellishment on the collar echoes the buckles on the shoes.

Thandie Newton: Also opting for separates, the English actress was outfitted in a Schiaparelli suit which has such sumptuousness from the silky fabric and cranberry colour. The touches of gold and the lack of shirt enhance the sultry, glamorous mood. Pippa Small jewels completed the look.

Evan Rachel Wood In Altuzarra – ‘Westworld’ Season 2 LA Premiere

Evan Rachel Wood was a beauty in tailored separates at the ‘Westworld’ Season 2 LA premiere on Monday (April 16). She joined Thandie Newton.

The actress often gravitates towards suiting so this Altuzarra Fall 2018 three-piece suit was very much in her wheelhouse.

Some might question the beige colour for a premiere, but the slim silhouette and pinstripe design provide a strong finish.

Modifications have been made from the runway version with the removal of the cropped topper and the pieces being elongated. Along with the vertical stripes, the new lengths make her look like a tall drink of water.

Proving that every detail was thought out, the mahogany buttons are tied in via her hair, shoes and makeup.

SXSW Conference and Festival Weekend Roundup

A number of other stars were in Austin, Texas this past weekend for the start of the 2018 SXSW Conference and Festival. Here’s a look at what they were wearing.

Carla Gugino: The actress was a beauty in blue at the ‘Elizabeth Harvest’ premiere on Saturday (Marh 10) with this vibrant, high-low variation on the iconic Diane von Furstenberg floral wrap dress. I probably would have opted for a different shoe to let her red lip and matching envelope clutch be the accessories of note, rather than bring in the additional metallic shine factor.

Jamie Chung: Making a case for colourful stripes, this was such a graphically intrepid Ronny Kobo dress—and I loved its slightly dizzying effect at the ‘1985’ premiere on Friday (March 9).

AJ Michalka: At the ‘Support the Girls’ premiere on Friday (March 9), AJ turned up the charm in a Markarian ‘Theres’ dress. The only thing about this look was that I felt the black peep-toe shoes dragged it down somewhat.

TIFF Presents ‘In Conversation With Evan Rachel Wood’

TIFF presented ‘In Conversation With Evan Rachel Wood’, starring the actress, on Saturday (January 20) in Toronto, Canada.

As she tends to favour sharp silhouettes and menswear-inspired tailoring, this Altuzarra Pre-Fall 2018 double-breasted suit was right in line with her style.

The fit was polished, but I can’t say she won me completely over with the stripes.

Her matching mulberry lip did help me warm to the colour palette, though.
