Charlize Theron Wore Dior To ‘The Odyssey’ New York Premiere

Charlize Theron was back in shorts for The Odyssey New York premiere on Tuesday.

If you’re anything like me, this custom Dior white silk jacket paired with another pair of short shorts gave you an immediate sense of déjà vu. We’ve already seen variations of this silhouette in Jonathan Anderson’s debut Spring 2026 collection, but it most closely echoes Look 25 from the Spring 2026 Haute Couture collection.

With all that in mind, I couldn’t help wishing Dior had created something entirely unique for the house’s longest-serving ambassador. If ever there was an occasion worthy of a truly one-of-a-kind design, surely it was one of the biggest film premieres of the year.

There’s no denying Charlize looks incredible because, well, she’s Charlize. She has the presence to make almost anything look exceptional. But when I compare this custom version to the couture runway look, I actually prefer the original. The dramatic draped bow at the front had far more impact on the runway, whereas this interpretation feels deflated by comparison.

Charlize is doing almost all of the heavy lifting here.

The jewellery was impeccable, and the white Dior sandals were the perfect finishing touch. I just wish the jacket had risen to the same standard as everything else she was wearing.
