McKenna Grace’s Oscars Beauty By Dr. Althea

Celebrity makeup artist Allan Avendaño turned to K-beauty favourite Dr. Althea to prep McKenna Grace’s skin for the 2026 Oscars, building a luminous base that held up under high-definition lighting.

With glass skin still dominating, this is a clear example of the shift towards skincare-first prep, especially K-beauty formulas that prioritise hydration and skin balance over heavy layering.

“For every red carpet moment, my goal for McKenna Grace is to create the most radiant, glowing, hydrated, and protected complexion possible. When the skin looks healthy, makeup applies more seamlessly and reads better on camera. Dr. Althea products create a smooth base that allows the makeup to melt into the skin,” he said.

His approach is all about layering lightweight hydration without overloading the skin. He started with the StretchFit Calming Pads, leaving them on for 10–15 minutes to calm and refine texture, then pressing in the remaining essence.

Next came the ABC Glow Whipped Serum, applied and set with a handheld fan to lock in hydration and give the skin that fresh, lit-from-within finish.

For targeted smoothing, he used the Retinol Flat Iron Eye Roller under the eyes and around the smile lines, ensuring concealer would sit cleanly.

The 345 Relief Cream followed, delivering moisture without weight and creating a smooth base for makeup.

He finished with the Aqua Glowing Sunscreen for protection and a final boost of radiance, while the 345 Relief Cream Mist was used throughout to refresh the skin and help everything blend seamlessly.
