Amber Heard certainly had me doing a second take tonight (January 6) at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills — and that’s not necessarily a good thing in this case.

I just couldn’t get on board with this Monique Lhuillier Fall 2019 ball gown.

The dropped waist of the black bodice created a strange, figure-shortening effect — and the whole thing just seemed weirdly dated. The curled updo probably contributed to that.

Not even the mismatched, edgy earrings could bring any modern factor to the Renaissance-prom look.
