Crown Princess Mary of Denmark In Jesper Høvring – New Year’s Banquet

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Crown Princess Mary of Denmark In Jesper Høvring - New Year's Banquet At Christian VII's Palace

The Danish royal family rang in the New Year in style, with Queen Margrethe II throwing a lavish party at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Tuesday (January 1) with Crown Princess Mary starring as the belle of the ball.

Marking the occasion with a local designer, the royal stunned wearing a Jesper Høvring gown embroidered with delicate leaf patterns in autumnal colours of plum, grey and mustard, which she paired with a glittering Edwardian tiara.

Princess Mary tends to go for a more understated look, so I’m really enjoying this uber glamorous outing.

She was dressed in full regalia, sporting the Order of the Elephant – a Danish order of chivalry that dates back to the 1400s and is considered Denmark’s highest-ranked honour. It is used exclusively by royalty and heads of states.

Sometimes these ‘Orders’ can get in the way of a perfectly good look, but on this occasion it looks like it could’ve been part of her gown.
