Zendaya Coleman in Chloé – ‘Black Nativity’ New York Premiere

Zendaya Coleman attended the ‘Black Nativity’ premiere at the Apollo Theater in New York City yesterday evening.

While I was fan of her last look, this one doesn’t quite do it for me.

She wore a black, sleeveless turtleneck crop top with a white polka-dot tulle skirt from Chloé Fall 2013, which she styled with a Veinarde biker jacket and turquoise Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ patent pumps.

As you may remember, this skirt has been previously worn by both Olivia Palermo and Zhang Ziyi, and not with much positive review.

On Zendaya, it seems like the styling was supposed to be a play on sweet versus tough, but it comes off as a bit too contrived and clunky instead. Perhaps a shorter jacket length and sandal would have lent some lightness to the look.

What do you think — did she wear this Chloé skirt better than Olivia Palermo and Zhang Ziyi, or should this article of clothing be retired once and for all?
