2013 Brit Awards Menswear Round Up

Men Brits

On Wednesday, the Brit Awards 2013 was held at the O2 Arena in London. It was an impressive showing for menswear as many of the suits and tuxedos featured different colours and details. The best part was how many of those suits fit perfectly; English gents understand the importance of slim tailoring.

Ed Sheeran: The popular 22-year-old English singer once again looked very unpolished while wearing a Burberry navy suit. At the Grammys, Ed attempted to wear sneakers with his ill-fitted Burberry tuxedo. This time he chose much better sneakers, but his suit fits even worse than it did last time. Not only are his sleeves touching his knuckles, but his pants also look to be sitting quite low on his waist. Maybe that explains why they are bunching up at his ankles.

Louis Smith: This is my favorite suit out of the bunch. Louis sported a beautiful double-breasted Sand suit with peak lapels. He clearly has a great body, which comes with being an Olympic gymnast, and this suit accentuates that. Along with his suit, Louis wore a white Staunton Moods shirt with a classic black bow tie. His shoes also featured gold decals on them, but it didn’t take away from his loud suit.

Robbie Williams: The English singer-songwriter took a risk, wearing a purple one-button shawl-lapel tuxedo. He matched his deep-purple colour with a white shirt, a black skinny tie, and a well-folded pocket square. His risk certainly paid off.

Calvin Harris: Looking rather sharp in a midnight-navy suit, the Scottish DJ turned some heads on the red carpet. Under his notch-lapel jacket was a white semi-spread-collar shirt. A black skinny tie and just the right amount of blonde scruff polished off Calvin’s look.

Rafe Spall: Rafe, who was recently seen in ‘Life of Pi’, went for a more conservative look, showing up in a well-tailored Burberry grey two-button suit. He completed it with classic colours, wearing a white shirt, a navy tie, and black lace-up shoes. The watch on his wrist helped to make for a very clean look.

Conor Maynard: Young singer Conor Maynard donned a look unlike anyone else. Wearing a black one-button peak-lapel jacket and navy pants was already unique, but Conor paired it with a white pocket square, a collarless white shirt, and sneakers. Despite how weird that sounds, he and his signature coif pulled the outfit off, keeping his popstar chic.

Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule: Wearing a grey wool three-piece suit and a navy suit, respectively, the Rizzle Kicks duo looked trendy on the red carpet. Jordan’s three-piece notch-lapel suit was accented with a white shirt, a matching grey tie, and a white pocket square. His black-and-white saddle shoes were the highlight piece, though. Harley cleaned up with a fully-buttoned white shirt, brown lace-up shoes and a stylish hat.
