2011 Royal Wedding Guests

Hundreds of guests attended the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton today.

Here are some of the one’s we were keen to see.

Charlene Wittstock opted for a pale blue Akris look with a wide brimmed hat. The look is classic and chic, yet I must admit I was a bit disappointed by it. I was expecting more from her.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden didn’t disappoint. She wore a long-sleeved V neck Elie Saab Spring 2011 dress.

She also opted for a wide brim hat and matching suede Elie Saab platform shoes.

You know how I feel about electric blue, so I loved Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s look.

I think she looked very elegant in her form fitting Deborah Milner dress which was accessorised with matching gloves, Nicholas Kirkwood pearl accented heels and a Philip Treacy fascinator.

Samantha Cameron opted for a simple no fuss teal Burberry dress with an Erdem necklace and Aldo ‘Samella’ heels.

Princess Ameerah Al Tawil, wife of Saudi Prince Al Walid bin Talal wore a custom made Zuhair Muard Couture dress especially made for the occasion. The light rosewood satin with silk lace overcoat was decorated with hand embroidered organza flowers.

Her dress and overcoat were accessorized with matching shoes, a clutch, gloves and a hat all by Zuhair Murad. She was one of my favourites at this event.

Karen Gordon, fiancé to Earl Spencer wore a pink custom Bibhu Mohapatra dress and jacket. I loved the hat, even though it covered her face.

Princess Eugenie In Vivienne Westwood & Princess Beatrice In Valentino Couture – 2011 Royal Wedding

The Princesses of York looked chic, modern and elegant at the Royal wedding of Catherine Middleton and Prince William at Westminster Abbey in London today.

Princess Eugenie wore a colourful blue Vivienne Westwood dress with bow accents, whilst sister Beatrice didn’t opt for a British designer.

Beatrice’s surprising but stylish choice was Valentino.

Her Valentino Spring 2011 Couture coat and dress was accessorised with gloves and shoes from the same collection.

I love both their choices. The young Royal sisters rarely disappoint.

Both wore Philip Treacy fascinators.

Pippa Middleton In Alexander McQueen – 2011 Royal Wedding

Catherine Middleton’s sister Philippa Middleton is the chief bridesmaid.

She also wore an Alexander McQueen dress which was designed and created by Sarah Burton.

The ivory satin-based crepe dress with a cowl front has the same button detail and lace trims as the Bride’s dress.

Pippa’s dress is similar in style to the red Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2009 dress Cameron Diaz wore to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.

Catherine Middleton In Sarah Burton For Alexander McQueen – 2011 Royal Wedding

STUNNING.

I will finally admit my reluctance to get excited about the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton was a defence mechanism to prevent disappointed.

She didn’t disappoint.

Catherine was resplendent as she made her way to Westminster Abbey this morning.

I was actually was quite emotional seeing Catherine as she left the Goring Hotel, and I’m sure many of you shared that feeling.

Her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen ivory sweetheart neckline gown had a gorgeous French Chantilly lace bodice and a full skirt.

The dress is made with ivory and white satin gazar with a train measuring two metres 70 centimetres.

Catherine wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen’s work. She worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.

The wedding shoes were hand-made by the team at Alexander McQueen and are made of ivory duchesse satin with lace hand-embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

The bouquet was designed by Shane Connolly and draws on the traditions of flowers of significance for the Royal Family, the Middleton family and from the Language of Flowers.

The flowers’ meanings in the bouquet are:
Lily-of-the-valley: Return of happiness
Sweet William: Gallantry
Hyacinth: Constancy of love
Ivy: Fidelity; marriage; wedded love; friendship; affection
Myrtle: the emblem of marriage; love.

Victoria Beckham In Victoria Beckham – 2011 Royal Wedding

Victoria and David Beckham have already arrived at Westminster Abbey for the Royal Wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton.

As expected Victoria wore a dress from her Fall 2011 collection.

The navy dress is slightly longer than the runway version, making it event appropriate.

Whilst I’m slightly disappointed she didn’t opt for something more colourful, she does look very chic.

I’m astounded that Victoria is going to spending the day in 6in heels whilst pregnant, but our girl wouldn’t have it any other way.

A spectacular Philip Treacy hat and Victoria Beckham clutch completed her look.

As usual she represents herself and her brand with sophisticated elegance.

David looked very dapper wearing a Ralph Lauren suit 3 piece suit.

I imagine he spent a lot of time on this perfectly coiffed hair, so don’t expect to see him wearing that top hat.
