Mariah Carey In Philipp Plein – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

There was a brief moment of joy when I saw Mariah Carey on the red carpet for the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday (February 26).

Without a sequin, rhinestone or leotard in sight, I was about to praise the singer for finally doing something new.

That was until I saw how Mariah’s twins were taped into this black and yellow, leopard print Philipp Plein Spring 2017 gown.

If I wasn’t familiar with Mariah’s forced smile, I was say she was wincing in pain.

This could’ve been so right had the look been modified to house the twins.

Ruby Rose In Julien Macdonald – Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party

The sheer dress trend was alive and kicking at Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday (February 26), thanks to Ruby Rose.

The actress turned to one of the kings of sheer gowns, Julien Macdonald, wearing an embellished cut-out gown from his Fall 2017 collection.

Do you see sexy beach cover up? I do too.

Sofia Vergara In Michael Kors Collection – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Sofia Vergara continue to make a change at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday (February 26).

By that I mean steer in a new direction away from the expected, to the unexpected and find new ways to showcase that untameable sex appeal.

And she did wearing a custom silver sequined Michael Kors Collection gown styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

She is a stunning woman and I love how this dress enhances that beauty.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Atelier Versace – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley debuted her baby bump on the red carpet for the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday (February 26).

The British model looked stunning wearing a custom made Atelier Versace figure hugging silver gown with asymmetrical draped shoulder details, Swarovski crystal accents, and daring thigh-high slit – this was Versace after all.

I have been told that one of the hardest things to do is make a custom gown for pregnant woman as they are growing all the time, so considering this look is impeccable, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Atelier Versace team were putting the final touches to this piece over the weekend to ensure the fit was flaw-free.

Donatella sure knows how to make a maternity gown, first Amal Clooney and now this vision of perfection.

Nirav Modi jewels completed the look.

Freida Pinto In Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna & Elie Saab – 2017 Oscar Parties

Freida Pinto’s pre-Oscars looks at the Women in Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party and the Film Independent Spirit Awards has us worried, but things took a better turn for the Oscar parties on Sunday (February 26).

Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party: The Indian actress started her night wearing a Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna embellished gown. I love the pop of colour via the fringed Corto Moltedo clutch and the sassy sandals. This made me breath a sign of relief that she’s back on the right track.

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: The good times continued to roll with this Elie Saab gown. The dolphin-blue hue is breath-taking, the slit was tantalising and the accessories including Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ sandals, added a golden touch.

Was this a return to form for Freida? Or are you still not impressed with her current red carpet style?

2015 Oscars & Vanity Fair Party Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Oscar men

The men were out in force at the 2015 Oscars and the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where there was plenty of handsome inspiration to go around from a fine group of fellows.

Jared Leto: Getting the evening started on a non-traditional note, the actor and musician was every bit the unorthodox Academy Awards dresser in his baby-blue Givenchy tux, accented by a white bowtie and white lug sole shoes. He let his hair down literally and made no excuses for it, saying that the Oscars was his going-away party for his locks. I wonder if the beard was also included in that party. While no one could pull this off like Jared, between the mane and the male pastels, this was verging on almost too much too handle.

Chris Pine: A stark contrast to Jared, Chris went for the all-out traditionally classic route and suited up in a Giorgio Armani black double-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo. It was impeccable and goes to show what transformative power a well-tailored tux can have.

David Oyelowo: Looking as if he was inspired by the red carpet itself, the ‘Selma’ actor dressed to impress in a crimson Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo word with #TackleEbola handcrafted pin by Jason of Beverly Hills. He does a great job pulling off this colour, yet I’m not completely sold on the satiny look of the vest and bowtie underneath.

Models @ The 2015 Oscar Parties

Models @ The 2015 Oscars Parties

As always, there were plenty of models on hand to provide the glamour at the Oscar parties on Sunday (February 22).

Alessandra Ambrosio: I was surprised the model didn’t jump on the sheer train; instead she selected a glamorous red gown from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection. This brand of sexiest from Alessandra I can totally get on board with.

Poppy Delevingne: The British model wears a lot of Pucci frocks, having a close relationship with the designer Peter Dundas, so I was surprised no one informed her that Natasha Poly had already worn this frock. Poppy made a great impact styling the look with a choker and deep plum lip.
