Reem Acra didn’t disappoint in her Fall 2008 presentation. Her collection mostly consisted of sleek and prim silhouettes of nipped-in waists with knee-length skirts.

A mixture of different shades of purple were on display in satins, silks, chiffons and feathers.

The ombre trend of Spring 2008 was evident in this collection, as was embellishments of the red carpet gowns.

One of my favourite pieces was the nude gown embellished with black laser cutouts, very sexy and risky, but would only appear on the red carpet with a underly.

You can view the whole collection here.

Sophia Bush now in her 10th front row show this week wearing a mini metallic dress from the Reem Acra Fall 2007 collection.

Aisha Tyler is surprisingly second behind Sophia in Front Row appearances, also wears a green silk silver embellished Reem Acra Fall 2007 dress.

Now this is red carpet glamour. Marchesa had it yesterday, but Naeem Khan took it to the next level with his breathtaking show.

There were lots of graphic prints, exotic prints, lace, gold beading, feathers, sequins, dramatic trains, cocktail dress, floor length gowns and silk wide leg trousers.

My favourite dresses were the sexy leopard print strapless gown with the beaded bust. I loved the dramatic deep green feathered floor-length skirt with a sequined top.

Now that the writers strike has been canceled, and the Oscars will now go ahead, these dresses will no doubt be on the red carpet come February 24th. I hope Vanity Fair change their minds and put on their fabulous party, because that is always very much the second red carpet event of the night.

You can view the whole collection here.

Eva Longoria was the only celebrity who attended this show, no doubt to get first dibs on her next red carpet gown.

Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are red carpet queens and they know just how to create red carpet magic.

The collection they showed on Wednesday was full of drop-dead gorgeous dramatic numbers, although for me it was not as strong as previous seasons.

These ladies are strictly evening gowns and cocktail dresses, so no day-wear here.

The colour palette was mostly black, purple, red and ivory, with the one pale blue one-shouldered gown. Ruffles, rosettes and lace adorned the gowns to enhance the beauty of these creations.

They did not have a runway show, instead models were on blocks, as guests got the chance to walk around the models as though they were mannequins or works of art, taking in all angles of the beautiful gowns.

I especially loved the deep v-neck sequined lapel jumpsuit, and the more dramatic ruffled red carpet gowns.

You can see the whole collection here and here.

Jennifer Lopez will no doubt get more publicity than the dresses for her humongous baby bump. She looks cute enough wearing a silk teal embellished mini Notte by Marchesa dress with a Fendi bag.

Anne Hathaway is wearing a gorgeous peachy pink Marchesa Spring 2008 dress, but it is a shame we can not see it properly as she covered it with her leather jacket.

She poses here with actress Eliza Dushku, who is wearing a black strapless number.

Kate Walsh shows her support for the Marchesa girls wearing a black feathered Notte by Marchesa cocktail dress.

As does Rebecca Gayheart, in a ensemble very similar ensemble to the designer Keren.

Michael Kors’ fantastic collection had a little bit of everything, luxe furs, skirt suits and daytime sheath dresses, sexy cocktail dresses and red carpet gowns.

The front part of the show consistent of mostly caramel ensembles, which was a fresher approach to the chocolate, aubergine and black which we have seen in most of the other collections.

There were influences of 50’s secretary, with cardigans and pencil skirts and of course there were red carpet dress to please the celebrities in the front row.

You can view the whole collection here.

Michael finally brought out more than 1 A lister to a show.

J’adore Angie Harmon and her effortless beauty.

I have a thing for lavender, violet and anything in the purple family, so this is just melting my heart. So well structured and so right for Angie.

And the clutch, ♥ x 1000.

Eva Longoria stole the spotlight in this gold sequined Michael Kors Spring 2008 shirt dress. This colour really works for her, and it’s a colour and style she seems to favour as she wore gold sequins to the Emmy’s last year.

Joy Bryant was more subdued in this Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2008 ensemble.

I love the colour on Ellen Pompeo’s shift dress. She made this edgy by adding Louboutin booties instead of the standard strappy sandal.

Debra Messing who is a Michael Kors devotee (surprised she did not wear his designs to the SAG Awards) wore a black-and-white striped bell skirt and black fur stole.

I love her sexy strappy sandals.

Oh MY God.

LOVE, Love, love.

I am totally in love with this collection. So far this fashion week we have seen so many browns, mauves, olives, blacks and other deep colours, so it was refreshing to see such a wonderful colourful collection. It had a very rockabilly edge to it but with luxurious textures and beautiful fur scarves.

Most of the collection was skirted, but there was the occasional trouser (3 out of 35 ensembles)

There were ultra-modern prints, new dress shapes, and coats that ranged from a navy patent shearling jackets to parka with a fur-trimmed hood.

Perfect for the Chelsea (NY & London) girl.

You can view the whole collection here.

Rihanna crop has taken on a very boyish look which I am not feeling here, but I love her Matthew Williamson top. Her orange shoes work much better here with the multi-coloured beading.

Holy Hot Mess.

Brittany Murphy takes over from Joss Stone, as the worst dressed person at Fashion Week.

Marc by Marc Jacobs collection offered schoolgirl skirts and mini shift dresses with exposed zipper detail. The zipper looked great and rebellious enough for urban trendsetters against black, hot pink and yellow.

Only the young, slim and confident can pull off leather dresses.

The houndstooth pattern came in interesting colour variations. My favourite piece was the hot pink houndstooth mini dress.

This J.Mendel collection used darker shades and a deep palette, that we are not used to seeing from Gilles Mendel, although there was one rose chiffon dress to please those hoping to walk the red carpet at the Oscars.

A lot of fur was used in this collection, mostly on coats, but it was also used to trim ensemble adding extra detail.

Bows were used at pockets, by the models which was an interesting twist.

Dresses are where Mendel shines, in colors ranging from copper to mauve. My favourite was the black metallic gown with satin bows. Can’t wait to see that one on the red carpet.

You can view the whole collection here.

Amy Smart was looking a lot more so, in this rose taffeta dress under a belted lurex coat.

Tinsley Mortimer wore a simple white dress with a black clutch and black pumps.
