Masculinity was a key theme within Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2008 collection. This was seen in tailored vests, three-piece suits in tweed and corduroy, and page-boy caps.

Corduroy skirts and pants, as well as plaid shirts and pants gave a country feel.

For a finale, models wore billowing netted tulle skirts with swathes of tweed, silk and knitted wool wrapped over them.

There did not appear to be a specific them to Versace Fall 2008 show, but I did feel that the glamour was very understated. There was not the usual over-the-top bling pieces – which I always love.

There were many voluminous cropped coats, mid-calf skirts, silk trousers and asymmetrical dresses.

Donatella produced many the one-shouldered gowns in steel grey, baby blue, purple, fuschia and blush. Hopefully we will see those dresses on Sunday.

Gucci Fall 2008 collection has a very gypsy-esque, boho, hippie vibe to it with the tapestry bags, frills and tassels all featured, alongside studded suede ankle boots, leather belts and over-the-knee leather riding boots.

There were lots of accents on shoulders and hems, drop-waisted flapper dresses had bold prints and many pieces had low-slung scarfs as belts.

This was a very strong and sexy collection.

I was very confused when I first saw this Roberto Cavall Fall 2008 collection, as there were many of the floral romantic gowns from Roberto Cavalli Spring 2008 collection.

A strong floral theme ran through the whole collection, with embroidered flowers on summer dresses, black evening corsets, and coats.

Prada collection had too much lace for my liking. I am not a fan of this material and there was too much on display here.

Many of the pieces were completely see-through, due to the lace material and the models had to use big pants to cover their modesty.

Etro’s collection was a mix of many trends. It had a bit of everything florals, stripes, mini’s, fur, shearling coats, thigh-high laced boots, waist coats, skirted suits, trouser suits, velvet, plaid, fringing.

Etro’s typical printed chiffon dresses also featured in this collection.

Burberry Prorsum’s Fall 2008 collection had many heavy winter coats of varying sleeve lengths, with fingerless gloves and knitted beanies kept out the chill.

Necklaces on the coats and most pieces added a touch of glamour.

The slim satin bellbottom trousers were my favourite pieces, followed by the feathered cocktail dresses.

I am a girl who loves, sequins, embellishments, beading and high end glamour, but I am so in love with this mininmalist, very well tailored collection from Jil Sander. I would go as far as to say this is one my favourite collections of the Fall 2008 season.

The jackets and coats collars were twisted, highlighted and sculpted around the necks of the models.

Despite the structured pieces, everything was very wearable.

Jenny Packham Fall 2008 collection, was full of all the things I love, glamour, embellishments, sequins, beading, ruffles, chiffon, and feathers.

I absolutely adored the red beaded dress to the far left. Had Nicole Kidman not worn the red Balenciaga dress dress to the Oscars last year, I would have loved for her to have worn this dress to this years event.

I would suggest that no-one attempt to wear these luscious gowns without a perfect hour-glass shape.

I am not sure the significant of the red shoes and lips on every model, but it would be interesting to find out.

Christopher Kane Fall 2008 collection was all about the paillettes which embellished nearly every piece in this floaty, feminine collection.

The show opened with knits, then it moved onto chiffon dresses varying in lengths and styles.

My favourite ensemble was the black pants with black paillettes and the grey embellished sweater.

Erdem Fall 2008 collection had lots of artistic prints which reminded me of the Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2008 artistic dresses.

I love the bright colours and mix of cocktail and evening gowns.

Giles Fall 2008 collection had his signature couture stylings in tailored padded vests which I adored. The collection also had shift dresses, slashed gowns and model wearing bags made of transparent silk over their heads.

The red fish-tail red skirted ensemble was my favourite piece.

Luella Fall 2008 collection had high-waisted trousers, short dresses and bell-style layered skirts in colours going from girly peach to gothic black.

The gothic make-up and the models wearing witches’ hats or knitted pixie hats gave the styling a twisted fairytale theme.

Marios Schwab Fall 2008 collection was all about second skin, as the ensembles were all figure-hugging and full length. Some were slashed to reveal fabric or denim underneath.

My favourite piece was the cropped jacket over a navy figure-hugging dress.

I can picture Thandie Newton and Keira Knightley in these designs.

It is very rare that I dislike an entire collection, but nothing appealed to me from Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 collection.

It had a very samey feeling from some of the pieces, the colours palette consisted of yellow and blue pastels, which is not fitting for a fall collection for me, the styling was all over the place and the masculine pieces were even too masculine for Tilda Swinton.

I know many say he is a genius and an artist, but for me it just did not work. I felt like he had simply run out of ideas.

Just not my cup of tea I am afraid.

You can judge for yourself, by viewing the whole collection here.

Victoria Beckham more than made up for my disappointment wearing a gorgeous burgundy sequined dress from the Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 collection, for which she is the face of.

Selma Blair looked stunning in this crystal beaded mini dress.

Ellen Pompeo and Molly Sims both looked amazing in their respective ensembles as they took in this show.

Despite Sophia Bush attending the most shows out of any celebrity this Fashion Week, it was standing room only for her at Marc Jacobs show.

That must have been a bit embarrassing for her.

Fashion can be so cruel.
