Nieves Alvarez In Zuhair Murad Couture, Andrew Gn & Pinko - Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez ushered in the New Year during her ‘Solo Moda’ show over the weekend with the same lofty level of style that won her the Best Dressed International Star of 2013.

On Saturday (January 4), the model host exclusively strutted out a trio of tantalizing Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 Couture designs, each one taking the notion of lace to a new level.

First, she was the epitome of full-on glamour in a snow-queen-worthy, icy-blue gown, embellished with a sea of sparkling, crystallized branches and finished with an illusion neckline and a sheer lacy sleeve.

Following this floor-scraping confection, Nieves debuted a knee-length nude design, emblazoned with black flowery embroidery. The nude effect and the plunge detail oozed sultriness, while the peplum waist and classic silhouette was sophistication personified.

The calling card for her final look of the day was its dreamy colour of deep lilac. Of course, despite the refined sweetheart neckline and cocktail length, the sheer nature of the embroidered purple filigree had sexiness written all over it.

Xu Qing wearing a Zuhair Murad Couture ballgown was your best dressed this week.

I opted for Juliette Lewis in Monique Lhuillier. I love the colour of the gown, the voluminous skirt, plus the decorative styling which included a vintage bejewelled headband.

The look was bold without being brash and fun without being comical.

As for the fellas, James Marsden in Dolce & Gabbana was the clear winner. On trend in blue, he mixed things up wearing a dual-colour navy-and-grey suit, looking incredibly dapper and handsome in the process.

Xu Qing In Zuhair Murad Couture - Van Cleef & Arpels Dinner

Xu Qing swept onto the scene at the Van Cleef & Arpels dinner, held in Beijing, China over the weekend.

The Chinese actress wore a nude silk Zuhair Murad cap-sleeve ball gown, hand-embroidered in electric blue twigs, from the Fall 2013 Couture collection.

The epitome of gothic glamour, the elegance of this confection was intensified with the more sinister edge of those barren tree branches that twisted across the entire design. The skirt’s frothy tulle overlay delivered a sense of fairytale enchantment.

While the dress may have been a dark beauty, Xu complemented it with a lighter touch—minimal jewels, save for a cocktail ring, accessorized the look whilst a petal pink lip added a soft note.

Elsa Zylberstein In Zuhair Murad Couture, Elie Saab & Christian Dior - Marrakech Film Festival

We are three days into the Marrakech International Film Festival, which kick-started on Friday in Morocco, and we have three looks from Elsa Zylberstein.

Opening Ceremony: At the opening ceremony, the French actress wore a Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 Couture nude high-neck gown with lace embroidery. The first words that came to mind were “mother-to-be”. That was until I saw her next look.

‘A Thousand Times Good Night’ Premiere: Wearing a more streamline Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 black beaded gown, “mother-to-be” wasn’t my first thought. More like “what a chic, elegant look”, which she styled with a sleek centre-parted bun, a cuff and a satin bow-accented clutch.

‘Like Father, Like Son’ Premiere: Dior dresses are really dominating this festival. I’m guessing it was a prerequisite in order to attend, or the brand was smart enough to take their fabulous dresses to the event knowing they would have beautiful actresses ready to snap up their red-carpet-ready looks. Elsa wore a black-and-white strapless corseted dress with a draped detail at the hip, which you may remember we first saw on Jennifer Lawrence during Cannes Film Festival. Carrying the same black clutch from the night before, Elsa added a pair of stunning earrings and black Louboutin pumps to her look.

Blanca Suarez In Zuhair Murad - 'Intimissimi' Flagship Store Opening

Blanca Suarez helped open a new ‘Intimissimi’ flagship store in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening.

The actress smouldered wearing a Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 black velvet dress with a sheer polka-dot yoke and part-sleeves, but she let herself down with her choice of bra.

Considering that she was promoting a lingerie brand, she should’ve worn a strapless bra with this look.

Snakeskin Aquazzura ‘Amazon Roccia’ sandals and a selection of jewels accessorized her look, with a braided updo and smoky eyes completing her look.

Does the visible bra totally put you off?
