On The ‘Lucky Day’ Music Video Set With Nicola Roberts In Jil Sander

Nicola Roberts from UK girl group, Girls Aloud became the 3rd member of the band to go solo.

Last month she only managed to reach #27 on the charts with her debut single ‘Beat of My Drum’.

She will be hoping for better success with its follow-up ‘Lucky Day’, which the quirky singer was spotted shooting the track’s accompanying video in New York over the weekend.

Nicola wore a Jil Sander Spring 2011 mini dress.

Before you have a heart-attack she didn’t take scissors to the runway version, as a shorter version is available on Net-A-Porter.com.

The bold vibrant multi-coloured floral-print silk mini dress was paired with some high-top sneakers and punchy pink lips.

Jil Sander Fall 2011

The Jil Sander Fall 2011 collection felt sportier in comparison to Spring.

Raf Simons still played with bright colours and most looks had volume; skirts, coats and dresses.

But it wasn’t all about volume. This ski wear inspired collection presented us with a lot of body-conscious looks.

We saw a lot of black in this collection, but it served to enable the bold red, royal blue, yellow and green looks pop on the well lit venue.

I also loved the winter floral pieces which really stood out.

Some of my favourite pieces from this collection included the cocoon pieces with the arms lined up perfectly with the pockets.

The models were styled with conical hair, red lips and blue eyeshadow.

Minimalist went maxi on this occasion. The normally poker faced fashion crowd couldn’t help but raise a smile during this presentation.

The key accessories were two-tone clutches, totes and wedges.

Front Row: Anna Wintour

Favourites: Teal cocoon dress and mustard 3/4 length sleeve dress

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Tilda Swinton

Hannah Herzsprung In Jil Sander – ”True Grit” Berlin Film Festival Premiere

In the space of a week we’ve now seen 2 looks from the Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection on the red carpet in Europe.

This dress was my favourite of the collection, so I’m really pleased to see it worn by Hannah Herzsprung.

The actress attended the Berlin Film Festival Premiere of ”True Grit” last night with Anna Maria Muehe who kinda faded into the background.

I always assumed the skirt was tulip shaped, but that illusion I now see comes from the model walking and her hands being in the pockets.

Like all those who have worn a look from this now well worn Spring 2011 collection, Hannah kept her look simple by pulling her hair back and adding a bold dash of red lippie.

A pink fold-over clutch completed her look.

Hannah’s Jil Sander look is available to purchase from Browns Fashion. I’ve already ordered the tee.

Susann Atwell In Jil Sander – 46th Golden Camera Awards

As you know I’m slightly obsessed by the Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection, so I was super excited to see yet another look on the red carpet again this weekend.

My favourite Spring 2011 collection is getting a lot of celebrity love.

This time from Susann Atwell who wore a Jil Sander look to the 46th Golden Camera Awards in Berlin, Germany.

The German TV presenter wore the white cotton tee-shirt and neon pink silk duchesse tulip skirt in the minimalist fashion in which the designer intended this collection to be worn.

I think the secret to pulling off this collection is to be as long as lean as the models who presented the collection on the runway.

A simple gold clutch and minimal make-up completed her look.

Camilla Belle In Jil Sander – Conan

Those of you who watched “Conan” last night would’ve seen Camilla Belle making a guest appearance.

She was on the show to promote her new movie, “From Prada to Nada.”

The actress looked radiant wearing a neon orange Jil Sander Spring 2011 sleeveless dress.

Camilla is the 4th celebrity to wear a look from this collection after Tilda Swinton, Drew Barrymore and Kate Bosworth.

Kate is still my favourite, but this is a very close second.

This is a perfect look for her as the colour really pops against her olive complexion.

I’m glad she didn’t go for one of the more edgier pieces, because edgy is quite her style.

From this very quick video, you can see she wore black pumps with this dress.

Tilda Swinton In Jil Sander – 2011 Golden Globe Awards

Most Androgynous Award
I loved that Tilda Swinton added a shirt to her Jil Sander Spring 2011 look to make her look formal for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.

Whilst it shouldn’t work Tilda is the queen of androgyny, so she makes it work for her by keeping the look minimal yet still fashion forward.

No one else would get a pass with this look.

I love the pink pumps which you can see under her champagne skirt.

Drew Barrymore In Jil Sander – Covergirl Cosmetic’s 50th Anniversary Party

As the face of CoverGirl, Drew Barrymore was on hand to help celebrate their 50th Anniversary at party held in West Hollywood.

I pray that she become the face of L’Oreal to force her to dye those roots.

As much as I love the Jil Sander Sprig 2011 collection, I didn’t love this look on Drew.

I really tried to force myself to like it, but my head had a word with my head and said, “No.”

I assumed that this was one of the easier pieces to pull off, but – may the fashion gods forgive me – she looks like she got caught up in a sleeping bag unable to unzip it so she hobbled down the red carpet.

This look doesn’t flatter her at all.

I prefer the elasticated detail higher up like on the model as it sits at an awkward height on Drew.

In short, me no likey.

Jack Vartanian white agate leaf earrings and a black Hunting Season clutch completes her look.
