Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I was very excited to see Leila Bekhti strike a laidback pose for the ‘Jury Un Certain Regard’ photocall during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals earlier today.

That’s because she was wearing a Carven Fall 2012 skirt I have been coveting since it hit the runway during Paris Fashion Week.

I was intrigued by what pieces a celebrity would pair with this slightly high-waisted velvet skirt featuring a Middle Ages-inspired print, as I wasn’t that crazy about the blue silk shirt worn on the Paris runway.

I think I prefer the simple white shirt that Leila selected. It’s more clean, crisp and summery.

Navy peep-toes completed her look.

Alexa Chung joined Jennifer Connelly on the red carpet at the Crosby Hotel in New York City for the ‘Virginia’ screening last night.

The British TV presenter wore a chic winter to spring transitional look.

She teamed a nude Carven lace appliqué silk-organza twill shirt with a contrasting collar which she paired with black shorts over opaque tights.

Black-and-gold accessories were the perfect way to style her basic shirt and short staples.

YSL slingbacks and a Valentino Rockstud flap shoulder bag added an edge to her prim and neat look.

Zooey Deschanel attended the Fox 2012 Programming Presentation Post-Show Party held in New York City yesterday evening.

The ‘New Girl’ actress chose a rather peculiar look, wearing a Carven Spring 2012 ensemble.

Dressed in a white button-down shirt with a large chest cut-out tucked into a plain black skirt, I cannot help but imagine Zooey as a waitress with a very bizarre dress code.

We all know that tights are Zooey’s signature look, but it is May – time to let your legs breathe.

Quirky can be done well on the red carpet – Zooey herself has done it before – but this is an example of eccentric gone horribly wrong especially since she wore the wrong style of bra with this dress.

Black pumps and a thin black belt accessorize the look.

Jessica Alba attended ‘The Biggest Baby Shower Ever’ in New York City yesterday.

Whilst I love that she selected a Carven Spring 2012 zig-zag-print shirt with a lemon A-line skirt, I’m not crazy about the rest of the look.

The black blazer and tights weigh down the ensemble. The look would’ve been warm summery without them.

Her Giuseppe Zanotti black-and-white toe-cap pumps would’ve worked better for me if they had been yellow or nude.

Jessica completed her look with a Proenza Schouler white PS1 bag.

Do you like Jessica’s look as she presented it, or do you have a problem with the styling like I do?

You can buy Jessica’s Carven shirt from Net-A-Porter.com, Browns Fashion, S|sense and farfetch.com.

Camilla Belle stepped out for the third time this week to attend the Tribeca Film Festival Awards party at Conrad in New York City.

We were crazy about Tuesday’s look because of her hair. On Wednesday your complaint was the makeup, so how does today’s look fare?

I personally love it. I never met a Carven dress I didn’t like and this colourful printed look from the Fall 2012 collection is no exception.

Camilla had the potential to blow this look with her love of black pumps, but on this occasion she selected pretty red Christian Louboutin pumps to go with her rich middle ages-inspired print long-sleeve dress.

Glossy brunette locks, Bulgari jewels and a tan top-handle bag from the same designer completed her look.
