Glamour Women Of The Year Awards 2013

Glamour Women Of The Year Awards 2013

Here is a roundup of the rest of the looks from the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013, held at Berkeley Square Gardens in London on Tuesday evening.

Laura Whitmore: The Irish TV presenter wore a Carven collage-newsprint dress from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The A-line dress has plenty of personality and I’m glad to see she has just as much fun with the styling, adding a Sophia Webster ‘Speech’ Bubble clutch and bauble-accented heels by the same designer.

Myleene Klass: The singer/TV presenter glowed wearing a Rachel Gilbert hot-pink strapless frock styled with Stephen Webster jewels. She took home the Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Joanne Froggatt: Taking home the Best TV Actress award, Joanne opted for a fall-like hue when so many others were wearing summery frocks. Her maroon Alberta Ferretti dress was styled with metallic-silver Jimmy Choo pumps and a Christian Louboutin spiked clutch.

Victoria Beckham In Carven – LAX Airport

Victoria Beckham In Carven - LAX Airport

The Beckhams were spotted at LAX on Saturday afternoon en route home to London.

I almost fell of my chair when I saw Victoria Beckham’s look on this occasion.

The designer, who tends to stick to a fairly neutral colour palette, has been stepping out of her comfort zone of late, but I was still surprised to see her don this Carven Fall 2012 skirt.

Her ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’ skirt, a modern interpretation of a Renaissance print inspired by Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, was an instant hit with the fashion ‘It’ crowd. You couldn’t walk to a show during New York, London, Milan or Paris fashion week without spotting someone wearing this skirt.

Victoria styled her fashion-loving-art skirt with a simple white shirt and her favourite Chloe wedges.

You may remember that we first saw this skirt on the red carpet over a year ago, worn by Leila Bekhti during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Emmy Rossum In Carven – Out In New York City

Emmy Rossum In Carven - Out In New York City

Prior to attending the Jeffrey Fashion Cares 10th Anniversary Celebration, Emmy Rossum was spotted out in Chelsea, New York sporting a very colourful outfit.
The actress wore a Carven Resort 2013 look.

She teamed a lightweight cotton shirt bearing an illustration of Paris with a matching jacket featuring a notch collar and bracelet-length sleeves.

Instead of opting for a hat trick of Paris-print pieces, as featured in the look book, Emmy added a bright-orange Carven skirt (from the same collection) with a flared ruffled hemline to provide a more interesting mix of textures and colours.

A baby-blue quilted shoulder bag and tan pumps accessorized her look.

She has been on fire this week, both on and off the carpet. The actress, who claims she doesn’t have a stylist, is doing a very fine job on her own.

Saoirse Ronan In Carven – SiriusXM Studios

Saoirse Ronan In Carven - SiriusXM Studios

Saoirse Ronan paid a visit to SiriusXM Studios in New York City yesterday afternoon to promote her new movie, ‘The Host’.

The Irish actress wore a Carven Pre-Fall 2013 look, which consisted of a green satin shirt with the designer’s signature Peter Pan collar in blue, with a forest-green flared tweed skirt.

My attention immediately went to her feet as she was wearing a striking pair of Monique Lhuillier ‘Blue Kid’ black-and-blue python-print heels from the designer’s debut Spring 2013 collection.

Barely-there makeup and a simple bun completed her daytime promo-tour look.

Natalie Dormer In Carven & L’Agence – ‘Games of Thrones’ San Francisco & Seattle Premiere

Natalie Dormer In Carven & L’Agence - ‘Games of Thrones’ San Francisco & Seattle Premiere

Natalie Dormer attended two back-to-back premieres for HBOs ‘Games of Thrones’ wearing the same Nicholas Kirkwood black suede frill platform pumps.

San Francisco Premiere: I wasn’t so crazy about the pumps with her youthful Carven Pre-Fall 2013 brush-stroke dress; a coral or blue hue shoe would gone down really well here. I’m guessing a solid shoe was selected on this occasion because she opted for a multi-coloured and textured clutch.

Seattle Premiere: On Thursday night she opted for a very chic look. Natalie was almost a totally different woman wearing a bordeaux L’Agence drop shoulder backless dress. The shoes are perfect on this occasion.

Two premieres, two looks, one pair of shoes; which look works better for you?

Alexa Chung In Carven – The Big British Invite

Alexa Chung In Carven - The Big British Invite

Alexa Chung attended The Big British Invite at 78 Mercer Street in New York City yesterday evening in her ongoing efforts to champion all things great about Britain overseas, which is her ambassadorial role.

However, she was feeling very Parisian when it came to her look, wearing a Carven Spring 2013 ensemble.

The look consisted of a tailored cotton-faille jacket with a notched collar and heart-shaped cut-out midsection, which she styled with a matching A-line skirt and a simple white shirt.

It’s not often we see Alexa in something so tailored; her looks often have a looser-fitting schoolgirl vibe to them.

She styled the look with black accessories, including pointy pumps and a pineapple brooch.

This brooch could be something of a good luck charm as she has been spotted wearing it a few times before.
