Elle Fanning In Carven – The Academy Nicholl Fellowships In Screenwriting Awards

Elle Fanning In Carven - The Academy Nicholl Fellowships In Screenwriting Awards
Elle Fanning attended the Academy Nicholl Fellowships In Screenwriting Awards held at AMPAS Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California yesterday evening.

Ever the experimentalist, the teen actress wore a Carven Pre-Fall 2013 trompe l’oeil shirtdress which is cut in a fresh mix of fabrics – light-blue stretch cotton for the shirt and bottle-green silk for the back, waist and wrap skirt.

On the model it exudes a distinct contemporary air; however, it feels a bit laboured on young Elle.

Perhaps her hair worn back and a daintier pair of heels instead of the heavy Celine black-and-white lace-up platforms would’ve done the trick.

Sienna Miller In Carven – BFI Gala Dinner

Sienna Miller In Carven - BFI Gala Dinner

Sienna Miller attended a gala dinner hosted by the BFI ahead of the 57th London Film Festival held at 8 Northumberland Avenue in London, England yesterday evening, which also saw Eliza Doolittle in attendance.

The British actress turned to a much loved Parisian brand for her red carpet look, wearing a Carven white dress from the Resort 2014 collection.

Her spaghetti-strap dress featuring a gathered bodice and a draped, wrap-effect skirt with on-seam side pockets was styled with De Beers diamond jewels and black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps.

Yes, I am disappointed by the pumps, especially when everything is so clean and simple here.

Do you feel like you’ve seen this dress before?

That’s because Diane Kruger wore the Prince of Wales check-print strapless Look Book version of this dress earlier this year.

Alexa Chung In Carven – ‘It’ Book Launch Party

Alexa Chung In Carven - It Book Launch Party

Alexa Chung attended the launch of her first book ‘It’ at Liberty in London yesterday evening.

The book, which is a collection of personal insights into her fashion influences, style tips, drawings and photographs, is released today.

Continuing her love for French dressing of the Carven kind, the author wore an off-the-shoulder combo dress featuring a blue lace scalloped-neckline bodice, circular flounce and a chocolate-brown full skirt from the brand’s Resort 2014 collection.

I am not a fan of the shoes, but then I don’t think I have ever liked Alexa’s footwear choices; however, I do love the retro appeal of her Dolce & Gabbana ‘Agata’ handbag, simple updo and flawless makeup.

Many of you disliked her GQ Awards Carven look, so do you prefer this look?

Alexa Chung In Carven – GQ Men of the Year Awards

Alexa Chung In Carven - GQ Men of the Year Awards

Alexa Chung took to the red carpet at The Royal Opera House in London this evening for the 2013 GQ Men Of The Year Awards.

The British star wore a Carven Fall 2013 long-sleeved metallic faille top and matching skirt in a light-blue hue, which she disappointingly, but not surprisingly, styled with black pumps.

My favourite part of this look is her Chanel Perspex chain-accented clutch in the shape of a Chanel No. 5 bottle from the Resort 2014 collection.

Normally one to scream for a pop of colour, I think the red lips are too stark for this look on this occasion.

Do you agree?

The German actress put a fashion-girl spin on plaid, donning a Carven Resort 2014 strapless, drape-front midi dress, complete with side pockets. Who knew tartan could look this fresh?

Veering away from the flat loafer-sandals seen on the model, she moderately dressed up the frock with a pair of dove-grey Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals that matched the muted plaid tones.

I nearly expected to see the ubiquitous white pump make an appearance here, so I was pleasantly surprised with the subtle change of pace.

A loose side ponytail and a radiant, berry lip put the finishing touches on this effortlessly chic entrance.
