Who Wore Balmain Better Lala Anthony or Lindsay Lohan

Lala Anthony was the first to wear this green devoré-velvet mini dress from the Balmain Pre-Fall 2012 collection to BET’s Black Girls Rock back in October 2012.

Opting to sweep her hair up to show off that high neckline, she styled the dress with black Louboutins and a selection of silver jewels.

Lindsay Lohan attempted to make a fashion comeback wearing the same dress to the 2nd Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards this week.

While I think she should have done the same with her hair, those Christian Louboutin ‘Resillissima’ leather-and-mesh platform ankle boots kill any chance of her winning this contest.

An easy win for Lala.

Adèle Exarchopoulos In Balmain R14 - New York Film Critics Circle Awards

Adèle Exarchopoulos joined Melonie Diaz, Octavia Spencer and Cate Blanchett on the red carpet for the 2014 New York Film Critics Circle Awards Ceremony held at The Edison Ballroom on Monday (January 6) in New York City.

The French actress, who we can expect to see on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday, wore a high-neck, bold shouldered Balmain Resort 2014 white long sleeve part-quilted, part-chiffon ensemble accented with gold button detailing.

This look, which she styled with gold hooped earrings and sexy cat-eyes, would’ve benefited from better footwear.

Her shoes, sadly, add nothing to the youthfulness look.

Lindsay Lohan In Balmain - 2nd Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards

Lindsay Lohan attended the 2nd Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards at Pudong Shangri-la on Monday (January 6) in Shanghai, China, where she collected a fashion award – I kid you not.

She was certainly wearing stylish labels, wearing a Balmain luxe green devoré-velvet mini dress with peaked, padded shoulders that are a signature of the brand.

I wish she’d dialled up the glamour with gilded accessories and sexy sandals, but she opted for heavy Christian Louboutin ‘Resillissima’ leather-and-mesh platform ankle boots.

A pink-stained lip and tousled tresses completed her look.

You may remember that La La Anthony wore this same dress back in 2012.

Fergie In Aryn K, Wes Gordon - Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2014

Fergie attended Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve 2014 with Ryan Seacrest held at Sunset Gower Studios on Tuesday, December 31, in Los Angeles, California rocking two looks.

Look One: The first was a mixture featuring an Aryn K double-breasted blazer, Balmain Pre-Fall 2013 black-and-gold blouse, Wes Gordon gold sparkling pants, and Giuseppe Zanotti booties. Jewelry from Loree Rodkin with a high, twisted ponytail completed her look.

Fergie In Rubin Singer - Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2014

Look Two: The second was a considerably more glamorous look. Even though I much prefer this Rubin Singer Spring 2014 black glass and crystal embroidered halter gown with Loree Rodkin jewels, I wish she had kept her hair up.

Kelly Rowland In Balmain - X Factor Finale

Kelly Rowland sported a sassy ombre do for ‘The X Factor’ Season Finale held at CBS Television City on Thursday evening (December 19) in Los Angeles, California.

The newly-engaged singer wore a Balmain black gown featuring an embellished leather bodice with a suede thigh-high slit skirt styled with the same Anthony Vaccarello ‘Abisko’ sandals we saw on Jennifer Lawrence during her ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ promo tour.

I wanted to like this look as it screams diva; however, a part of me feels like this look is rather dated.

This is the kind of dress Mariah Carey would wear as a performance piece. This isn’t a compliment considering Mariah’s style has been stuck in the 90s for quite some time.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Balmain - AEM Association Children Of The World For Rwanda Charity DinnerRosie Huntington-Whiteley attended an annual charity dinner, hosted by The AEM Association Children of the World for Rwanda, held at Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris, France on Tuesday (December 17).

The supermodel strutted out a Balmain Spring 2012 plunging mini-frock, super-embellished in a black, white and gold beaded Art Deco-inspired pattern.

Although it delivered rocker-girl sexiness in spades, on Rosie, the glitzy-glam dress still retained an appropriate chicness. She did skip the waist-defining belt seen on the runway—not that she really needed it.

To complement the strong shoulder and leggy silhouette, Rosie put on a pair of high black ankle boots. She softened the look by styling her hair in bombshell waves, completing the effect with an exaggerated cat-eye and a deep pink lip.

You may remember Jennifer Hudson also wore this edgy rock-star dress, hers accented by a statement belt, last month.
