Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Andrew Gn’s Fall 2011 collection was inspired by architects Pierre Chareau and Elieen Gray because of their seemingly effortless simplicity and impeccable finishing, two things which I admire from Andrew Gn’s work.

I have long admired Gn’s coats for Fall. They are so detailed, immaculately constructed and well fitted.

This season he added asymmetrical cuts, mother-of-pearl embroidered cuffs and fur trims to make them that much more luxurious.

We saw a lot of leather in this collection from the thigh-high Louboutin’s to the leather pants and leather opera gloves.

The jersey leggings, trench coats, fox fur wraps, satin shirts with sequin embroidery details all ready had me in awe of the designer, but when the gowns came out I was in a state of pure lust and excitement.

I adored the one sleeved fitted black dresses and the shimmering pleated gowns which billowed so elegantly down the runway, but my favourite look was the white bustier dress with the crystal embroidered skirt.

This would look amazing on January Jones or Blake Lively.

In the video below the model walks in the finale with a belt attached to this look, so I hope whoever wears it on the red carpet adds the belt give the sexy dress a chic finish.

Sharon Stone will be loving the range of white blouses showcased during this presentation. From blouses with embroidered leather sequins on the collar and cuffs; to a blouse with a pin-tucked organza bib and a hand pleated fan-shaped collar blouse.

Key accessories included Louboutin boots and Pigalle Plato pumps, fur wraps, jeweled cuffs, patent and leather belts and bedazzling necklaces.

Favourites: White bustier dress with crystal skirt, midnight blue pleated bustier gown and pebble asymmetrical sculptured coat with fox wrap

Emily Blunt was in London this weekend to attend to the premiere of her latest movie, “Gnomeo and Juliet.”

She wore a lovely Andrew Gn Spring 2011 long sleeved dress with laser cut floral accents, but that was the only thing I liked about her look.

The styling is really bad.

There is nothing wrong with wearing Spring looks in Fall, but Emily added heavy black tights and unimpressive heels which made the look feel very heavy when it should feel easy and light.

I’m also not very excited about her new hair colour. I much prefer her as a brunette.

Amy Adams continues her run of wearing dark colours at the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards, which was held at The Beverly Hilton hotel this weekend.

Her Andrew Gn Spring 2010 long sleeved dress was super sexy with a plunging neckline.

I love that jeweled butterfly detail at the waist which adds some oopmh to her look.

I am glad she’s starting to regain her confidence on the red carpet.

Amy added black satin Christian Louboutin peep toes and a Kotur clutch to complete her look.

This is how I like my divas.

Sexy, hot, fierce and fearless.

Jennifer Lopez looked breath-taking at the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards last night which was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

Her hips did not lie in this stunning Andrew Gn keyhole gown.

I’m aching over how amazing she looks in this dusty rose star embellished gown with a contrasting beaded belt.

Lose the oddly place grey clutch and we have total perfection.

When she’s on fire she can shut any red carpet down.

Is this a BDOTW contender for you?

Andrew Gn’s Spring 2011 collection was inspired by the late 60s and early 70s after a trip to London’s Portobello Road.

The soft elegant feminine collection had an eyelet theme in cotton, silk georgette and silk crepe in a variety of colours.

This theme was presented in blouses, dresses and tiered maxi skirts.

We also saw many pieces with ivy-leaf cut-out details which appeared on sleeves, pockets and pants.

Against the purple backdrop we saw a white, violet, magenta, black and coral colour palette.

Linen blouses with puff sleeves, linen pants, jackets with guipure pockets, jersey dresses with flared sleeves, trench coats, floral dresses with rosette details and ruffled gowns were presented.

Models all wore deep red lippie with blown out hair.

The main accessory apart from the Louboutin heels were the head wear which ranged from turbans, head-scarfs and floral hats.

Favourites: Magenta ruffled gown and green gown with flutter sleeves and rosette detail

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Angelina Jolie, Rachel McAdams, Michelle Monaghan, Claudia Schiffer and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Good on Beyonce Knowles who opted for the more colourful version of this stunning Andrew GN Fall 2010 strapless gown.

She wore it last night in New York to the “Keep A Child Alive’s 7th Annual Black Ball.”

I remember seeing this gown in the designer showroom last season and wishing to see it on the red carpet,

Thanks Bey for making that wish come true.

Her fuchsia satin gown drapes deliciously around her curvy hips before tying into a bow at the back.

This is the best I’ve seen Bey in a long time.

No crazy hair extensions, no OTT make-up and not a hint of try hard.

Just a beautiful girl in a beautiful gown.

I think I’m going to have to pick names out of a hat to come up with the top 10 for BDOTW.

The ladies have been killing it all week.
