Solange Knowles In Harbison – NYC Pride and Kiehl’s Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015

Solange Knowles In Harbison - NYC Pride and Kiehl's Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015

Solange Knowles attended the NYC Pride and Kiehl’s Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015 event on Wednesday (June 25) in New York City.

As you know I am a huge fan of Solange’s style, but even I had to give this tan and yellow Harbison Fall 2013 suit a confused “eh?” in reaction.

While Solange’s outfit is an improvement from the look book image, the dual-colour and overall style isn’t working for me as it doesn’t really flatter in any positive way, shape, or form.

Factor is the need for blot powder and the awkward white pumps and this is a very rare no from me.

Solange Knowles In Maticevski – Moet Nectar Imperial Rose x Marcelo Burlon Launch Event

Solange Knowles In Maticevski - Moet Nectar Imperial Rose x Marcelo Burlon Launch Event

Solange Knowles attended the Moet Nectar Imperial Rose x Marcelo Burlon launch event on Wednesday (June 3) in New York City.

The singer appears to have put her print-loving days behind her, preferring the architectural elegance of Stéphane Rolland and now Toni Maticevski.

Defined by cut-outs, asymmetrical cuts, a part-peplum and a contrasting draped detail, I’m sure many will claim that there is too much going on.

I don’t agree with that sentiment. I see this look as edgy, sleek and modern.

The red carpet needs more looks that stand up to be noticed like this one.

Solange Knowles In Marios Schwab – Veuve Clicquot Rich Launch

Solange Knowles In Marios Schwab - Veuve Clicquot Rich Launch

Solange Knowles hosted the Veuve Clicquot RICH Launch event at Café Royal in London, England on Wednesday (May 27).

Continuing to show her love affair with a good cape, the singer wore a Marios Schwab Fall 2014 asymmetrical dress.

Yet again proving that she need not bright colour nor print to make an impact, she cut a quietly subtle yet powerful profile in this minimalistic look, emboldened by Aquazzura white ‘Wild Thing’ sandals that echoed the feathered detailing at the hem.

This sleek, sophisticated aesthetic reminded me of another recent look she wore just as successfully at the ‘Bessie’ premiere.

Solange Knowles In Stéphane Rolland Couture – Martell Cognac Celebrates Its 300th Anniversary

Solange Knowles In Stéphane Rolland Couture - Martell Cognac Celebrates Its 300th Anniversary

Solange Knowles attended Martell Cognac’s 300th anniversary event at the iconic Palace of Versailles on Wednesday (May 20) in Versailles, France.

The singer wore her second Stéphane Rolland Couture look in a row, this time selecting look from the Spring 2015 collection.

I was disappointed with Nieves Alvarez’ Cannes look, but this is more like it.

Modern, bold, chic and smouldering with intensity. The Solange-Rolland combo continues to be a winning combination for me.

The look was styled with Repossi and Kattri jewels.

Solange Knowles In Stephane Rolland Couture – ‘Bessie’ LA Premiere

Solange Knowles In Stephane Rolland Couture - 'Bessie' LA Premiere
Solange Knowles attended the ‘Bessie’ premiere in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (May 14), where she performed a surprise show.

Showing that she needs neither colour nor print to make an impact, she donned a sleek Stephane Rolland Couture belted, asymmetrical dress, accessorized with matching nude Tamara Mellon sandals, a metallic Lee Savage clutch and Jennifer Fisher jewels.

I love the architecture of the cape that delivered both sophistication and directional edge.

Solange Knowles In Rosie Assoulin – 2015 Pioneer Works 2nd Annual Village Fete

Solange Knowles In Rosie Assoulin - 2015 Pioneer Works 2nd Annual Village Fete

Before Solange Knowles gave us a moody, galactic gown moment at the 2015 Met Gala, she walked on the brighter side at the Pioneer Works 2nd Annual Village Fete in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday (May 3).

Perhaps never meeting a directional look she didn’t embrace, the singer turned up the volume in a verdant, grassy green Rosie Assolulin Fall 2015 button-accented cape dress worn over coordinating pants.

The colour was radiant so I wish the trousers had been a tad more tailored at the bottom to enhance the polish of the look.

Her signature ’fro helped to direct attention upwards.
