Rooney Mara In Louis Vuitton – ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ Paris Premiere

YAY…we have our first bonafide red carpet premiere look of 2012 courtesy of Rooney Mara.

She picked up right where she left off in 2011 promoting ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ with a premiere in Paris this evening.

The actress, who appears to have had some red carpet posing coaching over the holidays, looked super confident on the red carpet wearing a black Louis Vuitton sleeveless dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

Her gorgeous dress with a bell-shaped skirt also has an embroidered and woven detail with gold embellishments which really sets it apart from the average LBD.

A black leather belt and Balmain strappy sandals provide the finishing touches, whilst she swept her blunt bangs to the side and added hot red lips for a pop of colour.

With her shoulders back and sexy glare, the shy timid star is no longer.

J’Adore this look from head-to-toe.

Rooney Mara In Rodarte for Opening Ceremony – Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Following Rooney Mara’s appearance on ‘The Today Show’ yesterday morning, she also made a guest appearance on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’.

The young actress wore a Rodarte for Opening Ceremony Fall 2011 dress.

Her Scandinavian-inspired two-tone A-line cold-shoulder dress has a ercu high-neck yoke.

Prada ankle-strap wedges and soft makeup including light pink lips completed her look.

I love that she swept her bangs on this occasion, as it has instantly softened her face.

Her stylist is on fire at the moment. I love the romanticism for this Edwardian-meets-Lolita dress.

Rooney Mara In Roksanda Ilincic & Carven – The Today Show

Whilst many celebs have signed off for the year, Rooney Mara was still out promoting ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ in New York City this morning.

She made a guest appearance on The Today show wearing a Roksanda Illincic Spring 2012 dress. This is her second Roksanda Illincic look within a week.

On this occasion she wore a dainty off-white sleeveless bubble dress which was teamed with simple nude Brian Atwood peep-toes.

A dark red lip colour and her trademark blunt bangs completed her look.

From watching the interview it looks like Rooney will be sporting this look for at least four to five years as there three movies in total.

Rooney arrived at the NBC studios wearing a luxe Carven oversized ecru coat with cropped sleeves and black patent leather-trimmed faux welt pockets.

A black Balenciaga bag completed her look.

You can buy Rooney’s Carven coat from Net-A-Porter US, Net-A-Porter International, farfetch.com and Ssense.com.

Red Carpet Evolution: Rooney Mara

Rooney Mara is still relatively unknown to many people, but her red carpet style has evolved very quickly in such a short space in time.

The New Yorker who went to NYU is the younger sister of actress Kate Mara. She has already starred in many hit movies including ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘The Social Network’ and her current movie, ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’.

Here is her red carpet evolution.

The Blush and Bashful Years
Her first red carpet appearance was at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival for the screening of ‘Dare’ where she was an unknown fresh-faced beauty wearing a pretty nude dress under a plaid coat which she teamed with a beige belt, tights and olive ankle boots.

Her love of nude dresses didn’t end there as she went on to a nude frilly confection at the Toronto Film Festival during the same year with a small leopard-print clutch and sandals that matched her dress and completed her look.

Cut to 2010 and cute nude dresses with matching shoes were still favoured by Rooney on the red carpet for the ‘Youth In Revolt’ screening and for the LA premiere for ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ where she wore an Alberta Ferretti pinafore dress with matching accessories.Read More…

Best Dressed Of The Week – Rooney Mara In Givenchy Couture & Jennifer Lopez In The Row & Milly

Rooney Mara had two amazing looks this week, but you went crowned her Givenchy Couture gown the best of the week.

It was a vast improvement from her Calvin Klein look from the 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.

I had a much tougher decision. I narrowed it down to three: Rooney in Givenchy, Taylor in Reem before finally going with Jennifer Lopez wearing a mustard coat from The Row and white Milly pants.

As I said in the original post, I would wear this head-to-toe look if money was no option.

She looked achingly hot, chic and sophisticated.

I love her when she’s on this type of form as I’ve never been a fan of those nude embellished jumpsuits she seems to love.

Rooney Mara In Donna Karan – The Late Show With David Letterman

Before Rooney Mara headed over to the Ziegfeld Theater for the premiere of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the actress dropped by ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ to promote her new movie.

She also talked about her football background, getting drunk before her audition and how much she was paid for the movie (apparently not a lot).

Rooney is the second person after Coco Rocha to wear a look from the Pre-Fall 2012 collections, as she donned a Donna Karan jumpsuit.

Her strapless jumpsuit with a white bustier top and black wide-legged pants was teamed with the same Christian Louboutin Mary Jane heels she wore to the premiere.

Blunt bangs and barely there makeup completed her look on this occasion.

Rooney Mara In Prabal Gurung – ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ New York Premiere

Rooney Mara took to the red carpet again last night to promote her latest movie, ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, with the New York premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

She was back on form wearing a Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 dress.

The black silk-crepe dress with graphic inserts and flutter sleeves also has a completely sheer back.

This look couldn’t be more perfect for Rooney. It’s gothic with a girlie twist, but it’s a shame some of the details are lost against the black background.

The Nicholas Kirkwood for Prabal Gurung heels would’ve been the perfect choice, but Rooney opted for black Christian Louboutin Mary Jane patent peep-toes instead.

With her hair smoothly lacquered, the actress completed her look with red lippie.

This look has become my favourite out of the three she’s sported this week.

Rooney Mara In Roksanda Ilincic – ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ Stockholm Premiere

Following Rooney Mara’s amazing Givenchy Couture look on the red carpet for the London premiere of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, I expected her to turn things up a notch.

Sadly I was left a tad disappointed by her Roksanda Ilincic Resort 2012 jumpsuit.

The pants are killing this look for me. They are too long and the creases are bothersome, plus the overall fit appears to be too big for the petite star.

It’s ironic how her lacquered hairstyle is almost exactly the same as that of Keira Knightley who was the last person to wear this collection on the red carpet.

What do you think?

A step up or down from the London premiere?
