Nicole Kidman In Alexander McQueen – Cannes Film Festival Jury Photocall

Nicole Kidman In Alexander McQueen - Cannes Film Festival Jury Photocall

Nicole Kidman attended the Jury Photocall for the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival this afternoon in France.

Having been announced as the face (or should that be feet) of Jimmy Choo’s Fall 2013 ad campaign, I wasn’t surprised that her Choos were the stars of this look.

The Australian actress wore a black Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 dress with a sculpted neckline and box-pleated sleeves paired with Jimmy Choo ‘Award’ grape-coloured suede pumps with a croc toe-cap.

Opting for a gold Omega timepiece, Nicole’s uber-chic look was completed with a side-swept ponytail tied with a black ribbon.

I have never been a fan of side ponytails on grown women, but the dress and shoes more than compensate.

Nicole Kidman In Christian Dior – Cannes Film Festival Jury Dinner

Nicole Kidman in Dior - Jury Dinner

Nicole Kidman attended the jury dinner on the eve of the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday evening at Hotel Martinez.

The Australian beauty looked very statuesque wearing a Dior knee-length black sequin cocktail dress.

Nicole always keeps it interesting on the shoe front; her black satin Dior pumps, which tie around the ankle, could never be classed as boring.

Cathy Waterman jewels and a Dior clutch completed her sexy black look.

Nicole Kidman In Emilio Pucci – 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Nicole Kidman In Emilio Pucci - 2013 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Nicole Kidman attended the Bloomberg and ‘Vanity Fair’ cocktail reception, which was hosted after the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the residence of the French Ambassador in Washington, D.C.

The statuesque actress was a vision in lavender in this top-to-toe embellished Emilio Pucci dress.

Because the swirling, beaded gown was its own best accessory, she kept hers to a bare minimum with Manolo Blahnik shoes, a creamy Bottega Veneta clutch and a perfectly matched pair of Fred Leighton earrings.

I don’t know about you, but I liked seeing this softer side of Nicole.

With her strawberry-blonde strands styled into slightly tousled waves and a glossy mauve lip as an added flourish, Nicole clutched another fashion victory while simultaneously putting me in a bit of a ‘Great Gatsby’ mood.

Who Wore Elie Saab Couture Better…Laetitia Casta or Nicole Kidman?

WWIB Elie Saab Couture

Serving as a jury member for the 2012 Venice Film Festival, Laetitia Casta had many great red carpet moments, including this peach tulle gold-embellished Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture dress, which she wore to the premiere for ‘The Master’.

Her breathtaking look was styled with the same matching heels we saw on the runway.

Five months later, we were surprised to see Nicole Kidman wearing the same dress to the 2013 G’Day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala.

Not only because we don’t expect someone of her calibre to wear a look already worn by another celebrity, but also because the look felt a bit twee on the statuesque beauty.

Laetitia wins for me, not only because I prefer her shoe choice and makeup, but also because the twee factor doesn’t apply here.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Nicole Kidma In Oscar de la Renta, Diane Kruger In Preen and Ryan Gosling In Gucci

BDOTW 1 April

I am not surprised that you picked Nicole Kidman in Oscar de la Renta for your best dressed this week. This was the first time in a long while that she oozed glamour from head to toe. This signalled that the Nicole we all love was finally back on form.

Picking a best dressed was really difficult for me this week.

Nicole was a given, so I opted to select my second best, but there were so many options.

Karolina Kurkova stunned in all her looks, and Victoria Justice also deserved a shout out, but in the end I had to pick Diane Kruger in Preen. From the break from black, to her gorgeous printed Preen dress and complementary styling I was in total lust.

When it came to menswear there was a clear winner: Ryan Gosling in Gucci.

The man knows how to wear a suit. Stepping out of the narrow menswear box, he opted for both colour and texture, giving us a swoon-worthy red carpet moment.

I would love to see a BDOTW with both Ryan and Eddie.
