Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Michelle Ryan attended the 58th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards, held at the Savoy Hotel in London on Sunday evening.

The former Eastenders actress didn’t get it quite right for me in this YSL suit.

I like the idea, and the pops of red liven up the look, but the suit is terribly ill-fitting.

From the cut of the blazer – I would’ve liked a narrower waist – to the length of the pants – just too damn long – there is nothing I like about this look.

The gold eyeshadow which leaves me speechless.

EA British Academy Children’s Awards 2009, London

Bonnie Wright is no stranger to wearing Prada, but I’m still surprised she picked such an interesting piece from the Resort 2010 collection.

I adore this look from the printed skirt, to the pink blazer and it even gets better when she takes her blazer off. The thing that brings down the look a tad is the black clutch.

This look has certainly brightened up my cold and rainy afternoon here in London.

Bonnie reminds me of Julianne Moore, both in hair colour and their love of experimenting with fashion.

Michelle Ryan is following Whitney Houston and Madonna who have both worn this Dolce & Gabbana animal print dress.

Both diva’s rocked this look.  Michelle should’ve have but her tights and peep-toes take this look from sexy to mumsy.

Monte Carlo Comedy Film Festival, Monaco

Daria Werbowy is the second celebrity to wear a look from Balmain’s Spring 2010 collection.

Sienna Miller was the first, and her dress was similar with the distressed material but Daria’s is slightly longer and has sexier cut-outs.

I hope she’s looking at those booties and saying, “I wish I hadn’t worn these”.

Alessandra Mastronardi looks so chic wearing this forest green ombre Valentino Fall 2009 sleeveless dress.

This dress may appear to be for someone much older than Alessandra, but the fresh-face beauty pulls this look off magnificently.

Clotilde Coureau wears the same lilac polka dotted Christian Dior Resort 2010 dress we saw Dita von Teese wearing during Paris Fashion Week.

I’m not liking the shoe choice, but I do like her studded clutch.

Dita Striptease Book Signing, London

Whilst Coltilde is following Dita von Teese, Dita is following Penelope Cruz who wore this Alexander McQueen houndstood pencil dress recently.

This style of dress was made for Dita.

I’m loving the brooch detail and the t-bar Louboutin’s.

Make A Wish Winter Ball, London

I’m loving Nicola Roberts teal Issa silk jersey gown.

Her confidence befits this stunning gown which she accessorizes with an Alexander McQueen skull clasp clutch.

I’ve never taken to Sarah Harding.

Her look always feels so dated and forced compared to Cheryl and Nicola.

Leona Lewis AGAIN wore a black corset belt whilst on a TV show in Toronto this weekend.

Let’s hope it gets confiscated at immigration.

Dizzy Feet Foundation’s Inaugural Celebration of Dance, LA

Katie Holmes’ look is more casual than we are used to seeing from her on the red carpet, but I’m still liking the look.

Former “Eastenders” and “Bionic Woman” actress Michelle Ryan arrived at the “Carries War” press night in London last night, wearing a red and navy blue colourblock Michael Kors sheath dress from the Spring 2009 collection.

This collection was full of red white and blue pieces, with touches of yellow and black through into the mix.

The dress is sold with the white patent belt and I really wish Michelle had worn it, because the dress has a much better silhouette with the belt.

Gold bangles and a black pumps complete this look.

Do you think her dress looks better without the belt?

Julianne Moore wore this hot pink Balenciaga pocketed wrap dress, back in October last year, when she attended her “Blindness” stage greeting, during the “Tokyo International Film Festival”.

As a red head, Julianne knows what colours suit her complexion, and magenta pink is one of them.

On Tuesday night, Michelle Ryan attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London.

The actress collected her, ‘UK TV Actress of the Year’ award wearing the same pink dress, with a large statement necklace.

On the same day, Ugly Betty actress Vanessa Williams performed The Real Thing on Good Morning America, wearing the same dress, with black strappy sandals.

I’m not crazy about the fact that Vanessa wore a belt with a wrap dress, that never works for me. Michelle necklaces fails to make her look more interesting, so flawless Julianne wins this for me.

Katy Perry looked sensational wearing a thigh-skimming strapless Foley + Corinna dress, adorned with an oversized bow.

Her turquoise dress was set alight with bold red lippie, sky-high blood red Casadei heels, and a red Lulu Guinness lips clutch.

You all know how I feel about tights on the red carpet, so I don’t need to go there.

Amanda Seyfried was very easily my Best Dressed at this event, where she won Film Actress of the Year.

The “Mamma Mia” actress opted for a Peter Pilotto Fall 2009 multi-coloured satin dress, which gathers and drapes from the hip.

I do wish she had worn her hair back, as a lot of the interesting detail appears on the neckline and shoulders, but her sexy strappy gladiator heels, and gold clutch more than make up for that.

Estelle usually opts for complicated, edgy ensembles, but on this occasion she opted for a very beautiful and simple Stella McCartney shell print dress

The slender star wore her dress with a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood pearl and lace peep-toe pumps.

Estelle got the Editor’s Special Award. I will guess this is for conquering America, and just being fabulous.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley oozed effortless chic. The former Burberry model wore a simple black crystal embellished Gucci Fall 2009 mini dress, with open toe shoe boots from the same collection.

Jacquetta Wheeler also wore head-to-toe Gucci. Her look consisted of a dazzling silver sequined tunic, with black leggings, which I prefer to the runway grey version.

Her rock chick look is soften by the Gucci jeweled sandals, but I love that she didn’t opt out of the large chain statement necklace, as it gives her soft rock look an edge.

The two ladies represented Frida Giannini, who was awarded Fashion Designer of the Year.

Alexa Chung, the unofficial Chanel brand ambassador, won Presenter of the Year. She wore a ruffled shouldered silk mini dress, with a nipped in waist.

There’s not point mentioning the hair, as she rarely switches things up.

Her black and white sequined Chanel Spring 2009 ankle boots are worth mentioning. I love the bejeweled oversized bows.

For once this doesn’t feel like she tried too hard, this is the effortless Alexa I once really admired.

Kylie Minogue was named Woman Of The Year and Entrepreneur Of The Year at this event.

She wore her Emanuel Ungaro LBD with a swirly gold embellishment, with a leopard print cropped Dolce & Gabbana jacket, which she paired with a large gold pendent, gold Jimmy Choo’s, and a matching clutch.

Kylie always looks like she’s stuck in the 80s. I’m not a fan of this look at all.

Writer of the Year, Sophie Kinsella looked effortlessly gorgeous wearing a floral print Christian Lacroix Pre-Fall 2009 dress, with a jewel embellished collar detail.

Her ruby red metallic heels perfected this look, making her one of the Best Dressed at this event.

Fearne Cotton never lets me down on the red carpet. She arrived wearing a Moschino red satin dress, with a huge ruffled skirt, in red Moschino pumps, which showed off her tattoo.

I love her blonde hair styled in this big frizzy wave, and her cat-eyes.

Becki Newton, Comedy Actress of the Year, opted for this cute strapless Robert Cavalli pearl-print mini dress, which showed off her killer bod.

Her hair is a bit blah, as are the heels, but she did the right thing by keeping her accessories to a minimum.

Rachel Stevens dressed appropriately for the baking hot weather we experienced in London yesterday.

She opted for a soft pink chiffon dress, with a pleated skirt, and cowl neck, which she accessorised with an Anya Hindmarch Marbled leather clutch clutch, and white T-bar heels.

Having spent some time in the US, Michelle Ryan doesn’t appear to have picked up many red carpet tips. She’s wearing a gorgeous hot pink bubble sleeved Balenciaga maxi dress, but she is not injecting much life into it.

The only thing that excites is her statement necklace.

She won UK TV Actress of the Year at this event.

Kirsty Gallacher continues to fall down in my estimation. This time the TV presenter wore a asymmetrical body-con dress with fabric that was so sheer, you would see her nipples.

Attention Seeker/Worst Dressed Award
Elize du Toit had a fight with some BacoFoil and lost. Miserably.

Does anyone else find it ironic, that there appears to be a banana skin at her feet?

Stop Trying So Hard To Be Cool/Get Over Yourself Award
Why Alexa Chung is considered a style icon, I will never understand. Yes she has moments of brilliance, but then don’t we all.

Her Luella Fall 2009 dress is not the issue, more the disheveled way she presents herself.

Opaque Tights? In this Weather? Award
On one of the hottest days of the year in London, Kaya Scodelario really could have done without the tights, as it totally ruins her cute golden Collette Dinnigan Fall 2008 mini cocktail dress.

Silver or gold strappy sandals would have made the world of difference.

Worst Cover Up/Worst Red Award
I really like Louise Redknapp, but I really dislike her red Sonia Rykiel Spring 2009 gown.

Sorry did I say gown? I meant tent, which does nothing for her.

Yes she recently had a baby back in November, but I have seen her a few times since, and she has a fantastic figure, and shouldn’t feel the need to cover up so much.

Her look is complete with a beige gold studded clutch.

Most Uncomfortable Award
Michelle Ryan another star who wore a red gown which just didn’t work for me

From the waist down, it’s a fabulous Donna Karan gown, but it feels so constricted around the upper arms. She would have had to walk around with her arms by her side all day.

Love The Dress, Hate The Hair Award
Jenni Falconer wore a teal gown from Ashley Isham’s Fall 2008 collection, which I really love, but I’m so tired of her same old hairstyle.

She has been in TV for about 7/8 years now, and the length, colour, cut has always been the same.
