Laura Whitmore In Warehouse – Elle Style Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In Warehouse - Elle Style Awards 2014

Joining Rita Ora and Suki Waterhouse, Laura Whitmore attended the 2014 Elle Style Awards in London’s One Embankment.

Bringing a touch of the high street to the glamorous red carpet, Laura chose a white sheer shirt tucked into a metallic purple mini skirt by sponsor of the evening Warehouse.

While I think the skirt is great and taps into the sports luxe and surfer girl trends of the season, I can’t help but think this would be more suited to a launch event rather than an awards ceremony.

I think it’s highly commendable that Laura has opted for high street rather than designer but this just feels a little too casual, especially when compared to the other looks on the red carpet.

For me, the crisp white works well against the metallic skirt but the shoes really let the look down. I really think Laura should have chosen a pair of patent pumps to tie in with the modern, futuristic edge of the look. Do you agree?

Laura Whitmore In LA Mania – National Television Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In LA Mania - National Television Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore made quite an appearance on the red carpet of the 2014 National Television Awards at London’s O2 on Wednesday (January 22).

Not one to shy away from trying new looks, this monochrome LA Mania dress from the Spring 2014 collection is no exception.

With a midriff-baring front cut-out panel, dramatic stepped hem and really unnecessary grid-like panel lining, this was one of the most striking dresses of the evening, but for all the wrong reasons.

Fortunately Laura did claw back some sartorial points by opting for a pair of simple black Kurt Geiger pumps and a white clutch which blended in with the stand-out dress.  A chic, loose up-do and a flash of red lippy pulled the look together and some Stephen Webster jewels were the finishing touch.

I’m always keen to see stars try out new and experimental looks but is it just me or is this just too much? Laura can get it so right normally so I’m sure this just a minor blip…

Who Wore The Kooples Better… Joanne Froggatt or Laura Whitmore?

Who Wore The Kooples Better Joanne Froggatt or Laura Whitmore

Last month Joanne Froggatt attended the British Independent Film Awards 2013 wearing a black strapless jumpsuit from The Kooples.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star, who usually opts for more colourful looks, styled her jumpsuit with a black Louis Vuitton clutch and simple black pumps.

Irish TV presenter Laura Whitmore wore the same jumpsuit last week, opting to go a bit further with her accessories, adding a white blazer, a Kate Spade New York clutch and a Jennifer Behr gold-spiked headband.

While I appreciated Laura’s styling efforts, less was more in this case so Joanne wins for me.

Laura Whitmore In The Kooples – BRIT Awards Nominations

Laura Whitmore In The Kooples - BRIT Awards Nominations

Laura Whitmore attended the BRIT Awards nominations held at ITV Studios on Thursday (January 9) in London.

The Irish TV presenter wore an uber-chic look consisting of a black strapless jumpsuit with a satin neckline styled with a white blazer, both of which are from The Kooples’ Fall 2013 collection.

A Jennifer Behr spiked headband, black pumps and a Kate Spade New York box clutch accessorized her look.

At first I wasn’t too sure about the clutch as I thought it dominated the look but, along with the headband, Laura proves that she likes to have fun with fashion.

You may remember that Joanna Froggatt wore this same jumpsuit to the British Independent Film Awards 2013.

Laura Whitmore In Fyodor Golan & Louise Roe In Mara Hoffman – 2013 MTV EMAs

Laura Whitmore In Fyodor Golan & Louise Roe In Mara Hoffman - 2013 MTV EMAs

Laura Whitmore and Louise Roe were the presenters of the red carpet event prior to the MTV EMAs yesterday evening held at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The ladies gave us two very different looks.

Laura Whitmore: The Irish presenter opted for a white satin structural Fyodor Golan Fall 2013 strapless mini with a peplum waist and black embroidery, which she styled with Kurt Geiger shoes. While the runway version would’ve been impractical for her job, it’s much preferred over her red carpet version.

Louise Roe: The LA-based, UK-born presenter opted for a more colourful look which was more to my liking, despite this Mara Hoffman Spring 2014 sweetheart-neckline printed top and skirt feeling very much season inappropriate. Vamping up the look with kohl-rimmed eyes, she accessorized with a gold cuff and gold Jimmy Choo sandals.
