You may think that all the glamour headed to Cannes this week, well Iman & co., are proving that there is still a lot left in New York.

The supermodel is a veteran on the red carpet, so she knew that her emerald embroidered asymmetrical Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009 gown stands alone.

Minimalism is key with a statement dress like this one, so she wisely kept accessories to just a ring, and a clutch.

Ivanka Trump was the first of many to opt for a Carolina Herrera gown at this gala.

Her lapis blue metallic strapless gown, was from the recent Fall 2009 collection.

I would have loved to have seen her carry a pewter clutch, the black does nothing for me. The same applies to that large necklace.

Lindsay Price didn’t pick a show stopping piece like the previous two, but it needn’t have been, because her textured silk Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 teal gown, with a marigold bow detail, and cascading ruffles is so charming.

Her Lipstick Jungle co-star Kim Raver, did pick a show-stopping piece. Well it was show-stopping on the runway. On Kim, not so much.

This lapis blue and lavender gown, got lost in translation.

Her hair, make-up, and yellow gold cuff, all don’t work for me either.

Lynda Carter ages so gracefully. She was my heroine as Wonder Woman, and she still looks wonderful today wearing a Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 gown, with a fur shrug.

The lurex black and white rose print gown is accented with black organza ruffles.

Hilary Rhoda’s ivory Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 ruffled gown, had embroidered details on the waist and straps.

Belen Rueda wore it with a lot more conviction at the 2009 Goya Awards. On Hilary it’s just meh.

Since no one else is speaking up, I will say it. Coco Rocha you need to ditch the red hair. It’s starting to look very Ronald McDonald. Please return to your darker locks immediately.

Her teal off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 layered gown is exquisite, but I preferred it on the runway. Coco looks better wearing edgier pieces.

Veronica Webb’s Rachel Roy Fall 2009 champagne silk gown, just melts against her caramel skin.

I really like the asymmetrical neckline, which is balanced against the asymmetrical chiffon hemline.

We don’t need a look book to know that Rene Zellweger is wearing Carolina Herrera. Past experience, and that smoke jacquard material from the Fall 2009 collection is evidence enough.

I love the gown especially the dramatic skirt, but the posing is very editorial.

Eva La Rue is working this season’s nude trend to maximum effect.

Claire Danes opted for a Christian Louboutin silver sandals, with her silk Stella McCartney navy dress.

The swirling nature of the dress is interesting, but Claire fails to breath any life into it.

Deborah Roberts is so utterly captivating in this pink asymmetrical gown, I had to feature her.

The ruffled neckline might be a bit heavy, for some, but it’s an outstanding gown, which is event appropriate.

Mariska Hargitay’s teal and navy banded gown, looks a bit snug on her. This type of material can be unforgiving.

Kelly Ripa really lets me down here. She’s usually so colourful and vibrant. On this occasion she is so muted.

Not like her at all.

MTV and ServiceNation’s “Be The Change: Live From The Inaugural Ball”

Demi Moore continues to blow me away.

She looks outstanding wearing a black strapless Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2009 cocktail dress, with a folded detail on the front of her skirt.

Her hair was wavy, make-up flawless, and she is starting to become one of my girl crushes.

Rosario Dawson showed off her enviable hourglass figure, wearing a body-con black satin Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Samantha Harris looked chic in a Farah Angsana Fall 2008 red chiffon gown with a pleated bodice.

The Creative Coalition’s 2009 Inaugural Ball

Anne Hathaway wore this red chiffon Dior gown, which had a gold embellishment on the empire line.

I do like the dress, but had the plunge not been so low, and had her shoulders been down instead of hunched up, I would have liked this even more.

I adore this strapless nude multi-tiered gown that Rachael Leigh Cook wore last night.

The dress is ultra-feminine with ruching on the bodice to add the floaty, girlie look.

Kim Raver wore a silvery strapless J. Mendel gown, with embellished detail on the bodice. She matched her dress with a silver clutch and a tasseled silver necklace.

Desperate Housewives actress Dana Delany was very elegant in a olive taffeta gown.

Alfre Woodard who also stared in Desperate Housewives, wore a Pamella Roland elegant white silk crepe strapless evening gown with a ruched bodice.

The Inaugural Purple Ball

Ashley Judd wore a silver one-shouldered Monique Lhuillier Spring 2008 gown with a bubbled tiered detail on the skirt.

It looks like New York is as cold as it is in London, as many of the stars at this red carpet event opted for very stylish coats.

Marisa Tomei was by far the most fab, wearing a silver Burberry Prorsum Fall 2008 coat, with black tights and peep-toe booties.

Naomi Campbell opted for a white Alexander McQueen Fall 2008 fur 3/4 length sleeved coat with black polka dots.

Kim Raver went for head to toe black, sporting a leather jacket, black jeans and a polka dot scarf.

Kim has me wondering if she was ment to show her garter belt over her jeans.

Helena Christensen has modeled in the coldest weather conditions wearing nothing but a bikini, so a slight chill was not going to see her wear a coat and prevent us from seeing her stunning black tulle Lanvin dress, with a nude underlay.

Brooke Shields opt for a very Miss Money Penny all black ensemble, completed with a pussybow blouse.

Madonna first wore this Christian Dior Fall 2007 grey dress which has ties on the sleeves, when she attended the 2007 GQ Men of the Year Awards in London.

The singer wore her belted dress with a pair of silver peep-toe shoes.

Kim Raver wore the same dress last month when she attended the Vacheron Constantin event with co-star Lindsay Price.

The actress wore her dress without a belt, but with a pair of stunning white and silver striped Dior pumps.

I much prefer the darker colour of Kim’s dress, and I adore her pumps, so she wins this for me.

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Host the 18th Annual ‘A Magical Evening Gala, New York

Jessica Szohr usually looks very grungy and her hair is usually wild and out of control, but last night, she scrubbed up very well, with her hair pulled back to allow her stunning ivory J.Mendel Spring 2009 gown to shine.

She completes her look with a Nancy Gonzalez clutch.

It is only Tuesday from last nights events I already have 3 contenders for Best Dressed.

The colour is great on Kim Raver, but the Naeem Khan Spring 2009 dress is just a little confusing and does not quite work for me.

Lindsay Price looks ethereal in her ice blue dress. This is one of her best looks.

2008 AFI Film Festival Presents “Defiance”, LA

Djimon Hounsou arrived on the red carpet with his girlfriend Kimora Lee Simmons.

It is not often I compliment Kimora, but I always like to give credit were credit is due, and the media mogul, look fantastic. The strapless Notte by Marchesa Fall 2008 dress with embroidered bodice, and a floaty skirt.

A millions miles away from her ghetto fabulous look and I love it.

Michelle Trachtenberg sure has been wearing a lot of black lately, but she does look flawless wearing this black chiffon Catherine Malandrino Resort 2009 camisole dress with pleated layers.

I especially love her two-tone peep-toes.

Emily Blunt is more casual than we are used to seeing her on the red carpet, but I do love her printed dress and her pink clutch, but I am not crazy about her booties.

L’Oreal Legends Gala to Benefit The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, New York

Kerry Washington is flawless as usual, and I do not think she gets enough credit. She look stunning in a sequin golden Ralph Lauren gown.

Diane Keaton wore a floral Prada Resort 2008 skirt, with a black velvet blazer and a string for pearl. Gorgeous.

Ali Larter stood out from all the black and silver on this red carpet by wearing a magenta Emanuel Ungaro Fall 2008 gown.

She wore her hair up to show off the large rosette detail on her one-shouldered gown.

Kim Raver opted for an silvery shimmering, layered flapper Naeem Khan dress. The overall look with the hair is fabulous, and very in tune with the theme that appears to be a 1920s.

With her silvery sequined Naeem Khan gown, Lindsay Price adopts the same flapper-style for her look, complete with a castle bob.

Salma Hayek did not quite go with a flapper-esqe dress, instead she compromised by wearing a 1920s black sequined head piece.

She looked amazing wearing an ice white one-shoulder Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2008 gown. Very much back to her best.

I am slightly disappointed with Jennifer Morrison here. She usually always wows me, but this black bustier dress fails to do so, as I feel like I have seen it a million times before.

Molly Sims did not get the theme memo, but she does look gorgeous wearing a green gown with complimentary jewels.

18th Annual Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame Awards, New York

No matter what the occasion weather it be a premiere, an award ceremony, or political rally, Kerry Washington is always flawless.

She is very much taking over Thandie Newton who was Most Consistent in my Best of 2007 Awards last year.

The actress wore a stunning peachy halter neck Roberto Cavalli gown, which was mostly pleated.

Definitely a contender for Best Dressed Of The Week.

Vacheron Constantin, Launches Quai De L’ile in Support of Afghanistan World Foundation, New York

Kate Bosworth channels her inner rock chick, and looks much better than her previous outing, wearing a Miu Miu ensemble of a black sequined tee, burgundy leather skirt and Miu Miu Sculpted heel pumps.

I wonder how long it took to straighten her hair.

Kim Raver wore a grey Dior dress, with tie sleeves that has already been worn by Madonna.

What is it with Kim and re-runs? That is two nights in a row.

Lindsay Price keeps it chic in a classic LBD with sexy thigh-high split.

HUGO BOSS Store Opening, New York

Brooke Shields is the epitome of elegance, wearing a black velvet tuxedo with satin lapels.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, sure does love to wear black.

The actress wore her charcoal grey strapless Hugo Boss Fall 2008 dress with grey booties and a ivory necklace.

Fierce as always, Mena Suvari strikes a pose in blue satin dress, with a 3/4 lenght jacket.

Peaches Geldof tries to make a statement style, by wearing a skimpy playsuit and blue-tinted hair.

Peter Alexander Flagship Boutique Grand Opening And Benefit, LA

Katherine Heigl wear a stunning cobalt blue Black Halo Jackie O Dress, which seems to be remade in new colours each season.

With its flattering lines to accentuate all the best features, this dress will never go out of style.

Mandy Moore decided to go grunge, after her exposure the previous night.
