Giorgio Armani titled his Armani Privé Fall 2011 collection, “Hommage au Japon.”

The designers work has often drawn inspiration from Japan, his Armani Privé Spring 2009 collection is a perfect example.

As an admirer of the captivating culture and the refined sense of aesthetics of this country, the designer found himself profoundly moved by the tragic earthquake in March, so he dedicate this Armani Privé Fall 2011 Couture collection to Japan.

The designer favoured a sleek silhouette of classic chic looks, mixing black with gorgeous vivid floral prints throughout this collection.

Velvet was used heavily. We saw velvet suits, bustier tops, tapered skirts, pants and obi belts which accented
several pieces.

With Cate Blanchett and Katie Holmes in the front row the designer catered to both their needs.

The stronger, directional, modern pieces would be mastered by Cate, who could easily pull off the floral suit with the patent leather belt as effortlessly as the floral print Mikado silk skirt suit and the black velvet bustier gown with Swarovski fringed details on the hips.

Katie may chose the more classic Armani pieces like the signature tailored jackets, velvet pants suits, or the black bustier gowns. I would personally love to see her in Look 34.

Front Row: Cate Blanchett, Katie Holmes, Olivia Palermo and Daphne Guinness

Favourites: Floral print duchess satin suit and strapless gown with tangerine embroidered top and black sequin skirt.

Key Accessories: Floral clutches, fan fascinator, obi belts, patent leather belts and geishas hairstyle-shaped fascinators

Who I Would Like To See Wearing This Collection: Cate Blanchett, Katie Holmes, Jodie Foster, Rihanna and Marion Cotillard

Katie Holmes flaunted her fresh Miami vacation tan at the “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” Premiere, which closed the 2011 LA Film Festival at the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live this weekend.

The actress opted for a simple navy Contrarian backless dress with a pleated skirt.

She accessorized with tan T-strap Lanvin pointy pumps, a gold Jennifer Meyer “S” pendant necklace and pearl stud earrings.

Katie’s young co-star Bailee Madison upstaged her by wearing a very colourful cute printed pink strapless dress.

Katie Holmes took time out to enjoy a day at the beach with her daughter Suri in Miami, Florida recently.

The actress wore Isabel Marant Mitchum low-rise stretch-denim shorts from the Spring 2011 collection over her burgundy bikini.

Katie covered up with a Current/Elliott shirt, which gained her many cool points but they are lost instantly lost with that ‘Inspector Gadget’ green hat.

A horse-print Hermes Steeple tote large enough to fit towels and suntan lotion plus a Jennifer Meyer “S” pendant necklace completed her look.

Katie Holmes did her best to use the palm tree as camouflage when she left Larios On The Beach in Miami this weekend.

Her Lanvin palm print silk halterneck dress from the Spring 2011 collection, failed to blend into its surroundings as the paparazzi spotted her.

The actress opted to belt her dress and add thong sandals and shades at night to complete her look.

Katie Holmes attended the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last night.

Her Holmes & Yang collection has only been worn twice on the red carpet, so I’m glad she gave this eye catching look a run out.

She looked beautiful wearing a fuschia Holmes & Yang silk crepe de chine blouse with pleated cap sleeves and a tie neckline, which she matched with a pleated skirt.

As not to overshadow her look she carried a simple black clutch and black sandals.

She looks absolutely radiant.
