Red Carpet Fashion Awards

For the red carpet Jennifer Lopez goes glam, but she likes to opt for a more urban, street-style flair for her music videos to prove that she’s still ‘A simple girl from the Bronx’.

‘Goin’ In’ is Jennifer’s latest single featuring Flo Rida, appearing on the soundtrack of the upcoming dance film ‘Step Up Revolution’.

In the video the former American Idol judge wore a mixture of mostly Blumarine Fall 2012 pieces ranging from fitted sequin graffiti pants, neon crop tops, harem pants, leggings, iridescent leather jacket with micro studs and a white hot leotard.

In one shot Jennifer sports bedazzled lips as she dons a lavender hooded cape which looks like it came from Andre Leon Talley’s closet.

Jennifer, who just turned 43 three days ago, also spends a good amount of time in the video showing off her very-fit figure and busting out some incredible dance moves.

It appears that last night was the night to wear red, as Jennifer Lopez also wore the striking colour to celebrate her 43rd birthday with her beau Casper Smart in New York City on Tuesday evening.

The stunning Latina singer/actress looked ravishing in a form-fitting Tom Ford red dress with the signature gold shoulder to hip zipper detail.

This dress continues to be very popular having been worn already by Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Beckinsale.

JLo wore her sexy dress with matching Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ sky-high, ankle strap pumps and a stingray Fendi clutch.

The couple made their way to a lavish boat celebration to join a large group of friends to party the night away in honor of the birthday gal.

Back in April of this year, Jennifer Lopez wore a dress from the Lanvin Spring 2012 collection whilst fulfilling her ‘American Idol’ judging duties.

The singer/judge/actress paired the python sheath dress with Celine jewelry. Christian Louboutin ‘Picks and Co’ lace-embellished spiked toe heels with a top knot completed her look.

Fast forward to June, and former Spice Girl Mel B joined her fellow bandmates at the press launch of ‘Viva Forever’, a new musical based on the music of The Spice Girls, wearing the same Lanvin frock.

Like JLo, Mel paired her dress with spiked Louboutins, but she opted for a gold pair and chose to forgo the gold jewels.

I wasn’t a fan of Mel’s shoes with this dress, and I love Jennifer’s gold jewels, so she wins for me.

When Abbey Clancy wore this Victoria Beckham Spring 2012 tangerine dress with gold embellished sandals in Dubai back in March, I thought that meant we would never see the designer herself wearing this dress.

Thankfully I was dead wrong.

Following Abbey, Jennifer Lopez wore the same fitted halter dress twelve days later on ‘American Idol’ for the Top 7 to 6 live elimination show.

She styled her look with Lanvin ankle-strap sandals and a selection of jewels.

My wish came true last night when Victoria Beckham wore her tangerine dress to Simon Fuller’s birthday party in London.

I love the colour against her tan skin but I’m most excited about the fact that she’s not wearing those Tom Ford peep-toe over-the-knee boots.

On this occasion she wore Giuseppe Zanotti nude leather peep-toes which complemented her Victoria Beckham clutch.

A centre-parted ponytail, flawless makeup and a gold ring completed her look.

Even though I worship Jennifer’s gorgeous figure in this dress, no one outdoes VB in her own designs.

A very easy win for the designer in my eyes.

Jennifer Lopez made a triumphant return to the stage for her first tour in four-and-a-half years, which kicked off on Tuesday night in Panama City, Panama.

The singer flaunted her curves in a number of sexy Zuhair Murad custom looks, but the one gathering the most attention is the hand-embroidered crystal jumpsuit on nude silk tulle from her opening look whilst performing ‘Get Right’.

This look was also worn underneath a hand-embroidered marabou feather skirt.

JLo then went on to change numerous times and served up hit after hit from her 13-year career including ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’, ‘On the Floor’ and an acoustic version of ‘If You Had My Love’.

Check out some additional sketches of her tour costumes below.

Jennifer Lopez’ Summer Tour wardrobe has been designed exclusively by Zuhair Murad in collaboration with the diva herself.

The actress/singer has been a fan of the designer for a long while now. He most famously designed her 2010 Met Gala gown and her 2011 Billboard Awards gown.

JLo will debut the custom five-piece collection this week in South America before she heads to the US on July 14th.

“Each section is inspired by its own look and feel based on her song selection and choreography – I wanted to make sure each look not only reflected but actually enhanced the feel of each section, so that her costumes would give even more life to her music. Much of my inspiration came from Paris during the Mistinguett Years, when costumes were as much of a part of the show as the dancers and the movement.” – Zuhair Murad

Jlo will set the stage alight a vibrant red silk chiffon robe tied over an intricate, hand-embroidered dress.

The dress features over 2,000 crystals and pearl beads, hand-sewn individually in a flame pattern onto sheer nude silk tulle.

I can’t wait to see the end results.
