Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future Awards Honouring Hailee Steinfeld

Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future Awards Honouring Hailee Steinfeld

On Tuesday evening, Max Mara hosted an evening in conjunction with W Magazine to honour Hailee Steinfeld as the Women In Film’s 2013 Face of the Future award winner. The attendees either wore Max Mara or Sportmax.

Hailee Steinfeld: The woman, or should I say girl, of the hour wore a Sportmax grey cotton-and-neoprene sleeveless dress, which she styled with a black clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Myth’ black-and-yellow sandals. For an honorary guest, the dress doesn’t stand out enough for my liking. Thankfully, the accessories – a red lip colour and youthful side-swept wavy ponytail – save the look.

Jordana Brewster: While I don’t like Jordana’s accessories, when I saw her Sportmax ‘Azulene’ white-and-orange floral-print sleeveless dress my reaction was “this is more like it”. The looks stands out; it’s fresh, colourful and perfect for the current season.

Olivia Munn: The ‘Magic Mike’ actress also grabbed by attention in her Max Mara red-and-black velvet floral-printed dress featuring a black waistband, asymmetrical peplum and side slit. What it lacks in season appropriateness (who wears velvet in summer?), it makes up in vibrancy and ultra femininity. Like Jordana, the styling is way off track. The gold clutch gets a pass, but the grey Saint Laurent ‘Tribtoo’ heels get a hell no: mostly because of the colour, but I thought we had finally seen the back of these pumps.

Hailee Steinfeld In Tory Burch – 1st Annual Children Mending Hearts Style Sunday Event

Hailee Steinfeld In Tory Burch - 1st Annual Children Mending Hearts Style Sunday Event

Hailee Steinfeld graced the red carpet of the 1st Annual Children Mending Hearts Style Sunday Event yesterday afternoon.

The young actress looked radiant and summer ready wearing a wheat-print cotton feminine tailored dress from the Tory Burch Spring 2013 collection which she styled with a black cardigan.

While I wish the cardigan was in a more summery hue to match her dress, I do love the Tory Burch ‘Carina’ wedges she styled with her look.

Hailee Steinfeld In Suno – 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards

Hailee Steinfeld In Suno - 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards

Hailee Steinfeld took to the red carpet at the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City for the 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards.

The teen actress wore a custom made Suno ensemble which featured a short sleeve crop top and high-waisted skirt.

Her printed shimmering outfit was matched with gold accessories including Jimmy Choo ‘Linda’ ankle strap heels and Jennifer Meyer jewels.

I love how fun and youthful this look feels. There was a time when she was dressing too old for her age, but she’s now back to having fun with fashion.

Super straight locks and a bold red-orange lip colour provided the finishing touches.

Vogue and MAC Cosmetics Dinner Party

Vogue and MAC Cosmetics Dinner Party

Many more stars attended the Vogue and MAC Cosmetics dinner hosted by Lisa Love and John Demsey in honour of Prabal Gurung at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Monday alongside Diane Kruger, Zoe Saldana and Jaime King.

Cody Horn: The ‘Magic Mike’ actress opted for a luxe tapestry pencil skirt with a matching short-sleeved top with black sleeves and a ruffled peplum. The black ankle boots wouldn’t have been my first choice with this look; however, Prabal Gurung looks and edgy accessories go hand in hand.

Hailee Steinfeld: The teen actress selected a navy silk dress featuring an embellished bib, which she styled with a black clutch and ecru Coach ‘Leighann’ sandals. You may remember her first Prabal Gurung moment was at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.

Jena Malone: The indie actress opted for a decorative Prabal Gurung black-and-white frock paired with clear pvc heels with a black ankle strap. Had they not featured a visible ankle strap, it would’ve looked like she was barefooted.

Dramatic Eyes At The Met Gala: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Dramatic Eyes At The Met Gala The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Dramatic eyes were a big trend at last night’s Met Gala, and while some were absolutely stunning, others completely missed the mark. Everyone might not agree with me here, but I really feel that you can do punk and look attractive while doing it. Case in point, these three lovely ladies:

Good:
Hailee Steinfeld’s eyes were total showstoppers last night. Her green and black cat-eyed look was edgy but beautiful, and totally punk-esque.

Another real winner was the always-flawless Diane Kruger. Her silvery gray smokey eyes almost had an ombré effect, with the lightest silver at the inner corners and the darkest at the outer corners. Gorgeous!

And finally, we have Nina Dobrev, who sported an intensely winged upper lid and a silver-lined lower lid. Very high-fashion punk!

Bad:
You have to give Elle Fanning props for having fun, but her winged electric blue and pink eyeshadow is more little girl playing dress-up than fashion’s biggest night.

As for January Jones, her look reads far more alien warrior than punk! The disconnected triangular shape of her liner is quite harsh, and coupled with the grayed out eyebrows, she looks a little creepy.

Ugly:
Ginnifer Goodwin is always a fashion and beauty risk-taker, but this one simply did not pay off. The heavy black shadow from lash to brow, along with the heavily shaded brow may be daring, but it’s also unfortunate. The only place this look belongs is on a raccoon.

Hailee Steinfeld In Donna Karan Atelier – 2013 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld In Donna Karan Atelier - 2013 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld looked fierce on the red carpet of the 2013 Met Gala.

The sixteen-year-old ‘True Grit’ actress wore a tea length Donna Karan Atelier gown.

At first glance, the dress seems anything but punk, but if you look at the gold starbursts, they are actually made out of safety pins–the perfect mashup of high fashion and punk!

She accented her look with Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch and custom Eddie Borgo jewels.

Hailee’s fierce, green-accented cat eye is absolutely stunning and the perfect accent to this look, as is her wavy locks pulled to one side. She has completely nailed the ‘high fashion punk’ look, and I give her (and her stylists!) major props for this!
