Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Gloria Estefan attended the amfAR New York Gala to kick off Fall 2012 Fashion Week.

As someone who was mildly obsessed with Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine back in the 80s, I can confirm that the Latin queen hasn’t aged.

She looked sensational on the red carpet wearing a Roberto Cavalli gown.

Her vibrant fuchsia jersey gown was teamed with a black fur shrug.

With her hair swept up into a top knot, she completed her look with gold jewels.

The South Lawn at the White House was transformed into “Fiesta Latina” – a night to celebrate Latin Music.

Eva Longoria can add ‘host’ as a profession on her CV as she hosted this event, as well as the ALMA’s last month.

At the ALMA’s we saw many wardrobe changed from Eva, but on this occasion she wore just a Reem Acra Spring 2008 gold tulle embroidered dress.

I love the way the dress was unexpectedly paired with a purple belt on the runway, but I’m glad Eva decided not to wear the runway belt as the dress is even more spectacular without it.

Not so crazy about the hair though.

Jennifer Lopez wore a bronze mini dress with a flared skirt, accented with a bow at the waist.

It’s a cute dress, but I can’t help but thinking it would look better on someone like Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez.

Kristen Dunst wore this dress front row at the Rodarte Spring 2010 show, so I would assume that this dress is by the Mulleavy sisters. The reason I assume this is because I can’t find a runway picture.

Gloria Estefan’s “Anything For You” is still one of my favourite albums of all time and I have loved her my whole life.

The beautiful singer looked out-friggin-standing wearing a black ruched Dolce & Gabbana gown with a mermaid hem – she’s giving me chills.

Like my other childhood heroines she just gets better with age.

“Fiesta Latina” night at the White House will be broadcast in full on PBS tonight in the US.
