Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Let’s face it, the London Olympic Closing Ceremony was a bit of a snoozefest. Judging by the reaction on Twitter, I wasn’t the only one hanging on for The Spice Girls’ performance.

Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary didn’t let us down.

Arriving in the blinged-out black taxis we had seen them rehearsing in earlier in the week, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton reunited to sing the hit that made them famous, ‘Wannabe’, as well as ‘Spice Up Your Life’.

The Spice Girls didn’t wear Giles Deacon, but Victoria did.

Her sexy strapless gown with tiers, ruffles and gold embroidery was inspired by look 3 from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. I would’ve loved to have seen her in something more colourful, but Posh was always known for her LBDs. Read more…

The Spice Girls reunited in London today to celebrate the launch of the new musical ‘Viva Forever’.

After much speculation over whether Victoria Beckham would join the rest of the girls, she did attend the photocall this morning alongside Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton at the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel to unveil the show which is based on their music.

The photocall would’ve brought back some wonderful memories for the girls. The venue is where it all began in 1996, as it was the video location for their hit ‘ Wannabe.’

Mel B wore a fitted slate grey Lanvin dress – as seen on Jennifer Lopez – with gold Christian Louboutin spiked ‘Pigalles’.

Melanie Chisholm looked stunning wearing an Acne ‘Barika’ white sleeveless maxi dress with tumbling curls.

Geri came as Baby Spice, donning a cutesy lace mini dress. Emma kept it simple wearing a navy-blue long-sleeve mini, but added a gorgeous pair of printed blue-and-white Brian Atwood ‘Manhattan’ slingbacks.

Victoria wasn’t giving up her signature pose for anyone, wearing a dress from her Fall 2012 collection.

As familiar as this look is, I do love it. She really stands out alongside a very statuesque Mel C.

Unfortunately that love does not extend to her Tom Ford boots.

The boots are not season appropriate and they are way too heavy.

The 2010 Pride Of Britain Awards took place in London last night with a whole host of gorgeous UK stars in attendance.

Only 4 of stars of Girls Aloud took to the red carpet.

I guess Nadine “I think I’m better than Cheryl Cole, yet only sold 117 units of my song” Coyle was too red faced to show up.

Cheryl Cole continues to be in mourning wearing a black Helmut Lang crepe cutout maxi dress with a thigh-high split and Jimmy Choo heels.

Her bandmate Nicola Robert proved why she’s the UK’s ‘Fashionista of the Year’ arriving wearing a William Tempest Spring 2011 dress.

The nude ‘siren devore’ dress with sleeves was paired with clear glitter ankle strap heels and a black clutch.

Dannii Minogue was also the other star who stood out on this red carpet wearing a self designed strapless pleated dress from her Project D collection.

The dress is gorgeous, but that Mawi statement necklace is divine.

A Stephen Webster ring and Tabitha clutch complete her look.

Kelly Brook maybe wearing a gorgeous pink dress, but she’s totally lost her mojo. She no longer wows me like she used to.

Where’s the glamour Kell?

Coleen Rooney left her ‘two-timing Shrek faced’ husband at home to shine on the red carpet wearing a simple LBD from Littlewoods.

She punched up her look with Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly leopard print pumps and a matching Louboutin clutch.

Kimberly Walsh looked stunning in a coral Issa strapless silk-crepe gown.

I don’t really care for Sarah Harding nor her nude lace dress.

I could’ve got on-board with Emma Bunton’s cape look had she ditched the gloves.

Patsy Kensit got my glamour memo by wearing a sexy strapless Dolce & Gabbana mermaid gown.

Within a week Emma Bunton and Salma Hayek have both worn this Alexander McQueen angular-shouldered dress from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

Emma wore it last week to the “Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards” in London.

The TV presenter wore her dress with black patent pumps and a simple silver bracelet.

Salma Hayek wore the same dress yesterday when she arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York for an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to promote her newest film “Grown Ups”.

If I was Salma I would be too busy trying on everything in the Gucci Group closet, but it’s great to see she’s still focused on her acting career.

The Mexican actress looked flawless wearing her McQueen dress with nude pumps.

Salma wins on two counts.

Firstly she wore better footwear and I also prefer how her dress drapes on her hips. Not sure what’s going on with Emma’s hemline.

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton will always be ‘Baby Spice’ with that cute adorable face of hers.

The last time we saw her on the red carpet she wore a British designer ‘Victoria Beckham – and she does so again wearing an Alexander McQueen purple angular-shouldered dress to the “Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards” last night.

I love the colour on her.

She doesn’t often wear many shape defining looks, but this angular shoulder dress shows off her figure.

I love the draped skirt, but as always I wish for more imaginative heels.
