We were so blindly obsessed with predicting Lady GaGa and others would be the first to wear the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 armadillo heels, that we didn’t consider the MOST like person to take them from the runway to reality - Daphne Guinness.

How could we have not even considered her?

The heiress donned the impossible-to-walk-in heels when she hosted this event with Marc Jacobs last night.

Her crazy heels were paired with an aqua marine bubble skirt dress from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection.

I love that gold bejeweled neckline, but hate that silver metal belt she paired with it.   These kind of belts are very much her signature, and they are usually Alaia.

Apart from the belt, my only disappointment is that she didn’t go for one of the embellished armadillo heels.

This may seem strange but every time I look at Daphne, I think this is what Victoria Beckham will look like in about 20 years time.

Many of you have expressed how much you are O.V.E.R Balmain, or that you didn’t get the craze to begin with.

Doesn’t Selita Ebanks make you want to forgive and forget?

As always the Victoria’s Secret model does just to Balmain.

She looks outstanding in this dress, her skin is glowing and the colour is divine on her.

As much as I love this dress, I think her J.Mendel white gown from earlier in the week was a far superior look to be included in the BDOTW poll.

Cassie looks peeved.  Maybe she’s still waiting for her ridiculous hairstyle to grow out.

The singer wore a  long sleeved LBD with cut-outs on the side, paired with a black pair of Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte Fall 2009 thigh-high boots.

Amber Valletta was the most glamorous at this event, giving off an elegant vibe wearing a dark jade RM by Roland Mouret Lombarde gown paired with Nicholas Kirkwood python cut-out platform heels.

Georgina Chapman For Garrard Launch, London

Standing quite a vision in regal blue, Georgina Chapman posed at the launch of her new jewellery collection for Garrard.

Once again we see the designer rocking her own brand, however the founder of Marchesa does make a rather impressive clothes horse for this exotic design.

A mass of sequins and beads, this short sparkly number certainly gains attention, with bordering feathers softening the tough structure. Opting for simple black platforms to complement her look, Georgina keeps the rest basic too, with natural hair and just a touch of a smouldering eye on show.

Princess Beatrice attended the event wearing a Notte by Marchesa Fall 2009 piece.

Very much in-keeping with this season’s favourite trend, Beatrice knows that anything that glitters or gleams goes, and looks fantastic covered in chunky gold sequins.

The little jacket and tights that Beatrice has chosen smarten this look, showing that even though she is a Princess, Beatrice knows grown-up glamour.

“The Box” New York Premiere

Despite this RM by Roland Mouret body-con dress fitting Cameron Diaz’s form perfectly, it’s disappointing to see the normally animated and lively actress in this more muted style.

Her personality has previously been heightened by what she has worn, however here, Cameron loses something of her kinetic celebrity persona.

By dressing down in tights and adding a tame up ‘do, it further dampens things. This dress doesn’t do her justice.

“Valentino: The Last Emperor”, New York

In keeping with recent ghoulish-festivities, Daphne Guiness stepped out a few nights ago in a dark ensemble, mixing textures and shapes creatively.

The fashion-forward mum-of-three stuck with her usual flamboyant style, combining tight leather leggings, a satin bodice and a velvet cropped jacket.

Stepping out in Nina Ricci’s lavish Fall 2009 boot, Daphne doesn’t disappoint as an example of someone unafraid to experiment with fashion, fully confident in her stride.

Socialite Lauren Remington Platt was spotted wearing this gorgeous Julien Macdonald dress recently, a garment taken from the designer’s Spring 2010 collection.

This same dress was placed on our Wish List page not long ago for starlet Cheryl Cole.

The candy-colours fused with figure-hugging fabric create a piece that is sweet and girly but with a flirtatious, sexy edge.

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Dinner, LA

Stunning Diane Kruger looks effortlessly chic in this asymmetric Chloe Fall 2009 jumpsuit.

Belted, to cinch her waist and showing just a peep of skin, the actress needn’t do anything else to this fabulous piece.

She kept her hair and make-up basic to achieve a flawless example of great style.

The world was in shock when Beyonce Knowles wore a not one, but two Gareth Pugh pieces to the MTV Europe Music Awards last November.

We were in shock that Beyonce would be aware of such an edgy designer, let alone wear his clothes because lets face it, at that point we were only used to seeing B in gorgeous flowing Lebanese designs or her mother’s vomit inducing pieces.

We weren’t so shocked when heiress Daphne Guinness wore Gareth Pugh to the Valentino: The Last Emperor New York premiere, because his Avant-garde pieces are very much what she wears day to day.

Despite that, I prefer the dress on Beyonce. Daphne’s black Azzedine Alaia belt, and the long-sleeve top, was overkill imo.

Italian Vogue created a spectacular shoot featuring Daphne Guinness, the brewery heiress who, unlike many actresses who borrow, actually spends a fortune on couture every season.

Steven Klein was the photographer for this shoot, and he really did make some magic happen. I love this shoot, which was titled “The Honourable Daphne Guinness”.

Queen Cate Blanchett first wore this Chanel Fall 2006 Couture dress back in 2006 to the Volver London Film Premiere.

Cate wore the stunning black dress with a gold turtle-neck and hemline, with black tights and knee-high boots.

Heiress and Couture Queen, Daphne Guinness wore the same mini couture dress with incredibly high platforms and a Azzedine Alai waist belt.

Despite Daphne being the Queen of Couture, and just recently finished shooting a 24 page Vogue Italia spread in Fall 2008 couture gowns, I MUCH prefer this dress without the belt, so Cate wins for me.

“David Babaii for WildAid”, New York

I love Kate Hudson in this multi-coloured Zac Posen Resort 2009 halter-neck belted dress, with a cute pair of jeweled aubergine peep-toes.

Many of you might be screaming that this is hideous, but I love it.

Chanel Paris-Londres Party At Dover Street Market, London

Agyness Deyn, the so-called epitome of London cool, was the poster girl for the Chanel Paris-Londres opening party in London yesterday.

The model was of course decked out in Chanel, wearing a black Chanel Spring 2008 dress with gold detailing.

She teamed her dress with very ugly clunky shoes, red socks, red gloves and those mini Chanel bags that were used as ankle bracelets during the Spring 2008 runway show.

Daphne Guinness is wearing a stunning structured Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 LBD that would have Victoria Beckham turn green with envy.

The pink shoes and the brooch are perfect touches.

I love those Karl Lagerfeld cut outs behind her.

“The Happening” Premiere, New York

Zooey Deschanel accessorized her berry strapless Dior bubble hemmed dress, with champagne Mary Norton clutch, which had clear Swarovski crystal detailing.

Misha Barton, who does not even appear in this film, but she did her best to upstage star of the film Zooey, in this mini dove grey ruffled Marchesa Fall 2008 dress.

This dress is gorgeous, but Mischa ruins it with her only pair of shoes. Yep you guessed it those darn Christian Louboutin Mad Mary Janes AGAIN.

Satine Boutique Party, LA

Nicole Richie keeps is sweet and simple in this sleeveless Alexander Wang LBD, which she accessorizes with a dark chocolate clutch and snake-skinned pumps.

Fuse’s New Ad Campaign Party, New York

I am not loving the blonde streaks, but I do love Michelle Williams’ one-shouldered Bebe summer maxi dress with a ruffled collar.

She is very much finding her style and experimenting a lot lately, as she has been dressed by Tina Knowles for so long. This boho vibe works on her.
