Chloe Sevigny In Kenzo - Sidaction Gala Dinner

Chloe Sevigny attended the Sidaction Gala Dinner held at the Pavillon d’Armenonville on Thursday (January 23) in Paris, France.

The actress, who we’ve not seen on the red carpet in a while, wore a Kenzo Spring 2014 double-face black-and-white leather dress styled with black-and-white sandals from the same collection.

Additional accessories included a pebble-leather clutch and a beaded necklace, with a hot-red lip and kempt wavy tresses completing her look.

At times, some of you find it hard to warm to Chloe’s I’m-too-cool-for-school, shabby-chic style, but on this occasion there is less shabby, and a lot more chic.

Do you agree?

The Bling Ring LA Premiere

‘The Bling Ring’ LA premiere, held at the Directors Guild Theater in California, was hosted by Louis Vuitton and Vanity Fair on Tuesday evening.

While Emma Watson didn’t wearing Louis Vuitton, many of the other attendees did.

Sofia Coppola: The director, who is very much an LV devotee, was oozing sophistication wearing an LV Pre-Fall 2013 look which featured a patterned metallic-gold bow-accented jacket, black pants and a white shirt styled with black-and-gold wedges and an LV clutch.

Haley Bennett: Of the LV crew, following Sofia, Haley was my favourite. She wore a caramel-coloured tweed LV Fall 2013 dress with nude Chantilly lace trims. Her sensual styling perfects the look with a soft wavy faux bob, hot-pink lips and complementary accessories including LV sandals, clutch and Jacquie Aiche jewels.

Chloe Sevigny: The indie actress wore a pale-pink Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall dress with a black lace panel. I’m not sure why she travelled with the oversized blazer to the event, because she ended up just dragging it on the floor behind her the whole time; at first I thought it was the train on her mullet dress. This is what happens when you wear Fall clothes during the summer months.

Chloe Sevigny In Rodarte - ABSOLUT Elyx Launch

Chloe Sevigny attended the ABSOLUT Elyx launch in New York City on Monday evening.

It’s been a long while since we last saw Chloe in Rodarte – you have to go back to January 2011 – however, the indie actress wore a head-to-toe look from the brands Fall 2013 collection on this occasion.

Her part-black, part-printed acid wash silk satin dress featuring a draped shoulder and asymmetrical lines was styled with a barbed wire headband, bracelet and necklace plus black leather and suede booties with grommet accents.

I love the barbed wire accessories; she manages to pull them off without making them look gimmicky. I don’t think this is a feat many others could’ve pulled off so effortlessly.

While Chloe has been frustratingly inconsistent on occasion, there is a lot going here I like, even if it is just ripped from the runway.

Chloe Sevigny In Christopher Kane - A&E Networks Upfront

Chloe Sevigny, who was one of the many disappointing attendees at the 2013 Met Gala, took to the red carpet yesterday evening for the A&E Networks Upfront event held at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

On this occasion, she opted for a white Christopher Kane Spring 2013 dress.

Her neatly constructed white wool crepe square-neck dress, featuring a slightly fitted waist, front-panel folded detail, hip front side slits and bolt accent, made me take notice on the runway, but it falls flat on Chloe, especially when styled with those black ankle-strap pumps.

A little while back I was happy that she appeared to have rediscovered her mojo, but it appears to have gone M.I.A. again, judging by this boxy look.

Chloe Sevigny In Proenza Schouler - 2013 Met Gala

The one person who I thought would’ve nailed the punk theme for Monday night’s 2013 Met Gala was Chloe Sevigny.

She proved me wrong.

The style maven, who’s known to take a fashion risk or two (didn’t she once have a punk phase?), opted for a long-sleeved Proenza Schouler Fall 2013 gown.

While this is a great look, it feels so wrong for the occasion and let’s face it, it’s a lazy effort.

The most punk rock thing about this look is the slashed detail.

And I’m over the Met Gala turban; been there and preferred that when Kate Moss and Karolina Kurkova rocked it.

Dolce & Gabbana's 5th Avenue Boutique Opening

The Dolce & Gabbana 5th Avenue Boutique Opening took place on Saturday evening in New York City, where Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana enjoyed a night of traditional Italian hospitality and mingled around the space of the new store, which spans three floors.

Giovanna Battaglia: The fashion editor stood out wearing a stunning red satin fit-and-flare dress with a lace overlay, which she styled with red embellished shoes. She was by far my favourite of the night. I love how she captures the essence of a brand without the theatrics.

Paloma Faith: Speaking of theatrics, the British singer went all out in a full Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 look, with the only solid piece of her look being her belt. I do love the fact that she’s not afraid of colour, prints and standing out in a room of black lace dresses. This Dolce & Gabbana look featuring a ‘Trio’ of Knight’ dress might not go down too well, but I love her boldness. You may remember that Zhang Zilin wore this same dress earlier this year.

Bianca Brandolini D’Adda: We usually associate Dolce & Gabbana with black lace dresses, but Giovanna and Bianca embraced red lace on this occasion. The socialite donned a bell-sleeved mini dress with a black overlay, styling her look with a black Dolce & Gabbana ponyskin clutch and red embellished sandals.
