Anne Hathaway 2013 Awards Season

Anne Hathaway has a good run during awards season which started and ended with Saint Laurent.

Full of classic frocks with pops of colour here and there, my favourites were her Burberry, Giambattista Valli, Erdem and Gucci dresses.

Anne Hathaway in Madewell

When Kate Hudson appeared on the worst-dressed list for her Stella McCartney Oscars gown in 2001, she said the designer and her laughed their asses off.

Anne Hathaway’s approach was to issue an apology yesterday via WWD for the confusion over the dress: a press release had been sent out saying the dress was Valentino, so her Prada dress was miscredited by several outlets. A tad overdramatic, but I guess it was aimed at undoing the upset the House of Valentino must have felt, considering they have worked so closely with the actress over the years.

Yesterday she was sported grabbing lunch with her husband in Los Angeles, California wearing a prettier dress by Madewell.

Her sleeveless floral dress with a rounded neckline and nipped-in waist was styled with a Stella McCartney ‘Bailey Boo’ cross-body bag, chic shades and thonged sandals.

I love the effortless, ethereal nature of this feminine look, which she styled perfectly.

The chunky cardigan is much needed because despite the sunshine, it is actually quite cold in LA.

Anne Hathaway in Saint Laurent - 2013 Vanity Fair PartyAfter a rather perky appearance in a surprising baby-pink Prada gown on the Academy Awards red carpet, Anne Hathaway changed into another dress for Graydon Carter’s 2013 Vanity Fair Party, hosted at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles, California yesterday evening.

Her second look was another column gown, this time a custom design from Saint Laurent with a metallic sequin triangular neckline. I’m glad she didn’t try to wear another necklace here.

But the shapeless silhouette and dove grey colour had me yawning; that is, until the ‘Les Miserables’ star cracked her infectious wide smile, which was glossed in a pretty pink hue, as she posed with her proudest new gold accessory.

I really wanted to love Anne’s fashion on her big night. Unfortunately, her looks weren’t quite as triumphant as her Best Supporting Actress win.

Anne Hathaway graced the red carpet on Sunday evening at the 2013 Oscars hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Nominated for her role in ‘Les Misérables’, Anne chose a pink column-style gown from Prada. The halter neck tied down the back of the dress like a present ribbon. While this design wasn’t my favorite of the night, the dress has a very delicate feel that suits Anne and her equally delicate features well.

The actress joined Jennifer Lawrence in sporting the back jewelry trend by letting her floral necklace from Tiffany & Co. drape past her shoulders. I love the trend, but in this case the necklace competes with the crisscross of the open back of the dress. Anne wore beautiful silver ankle strap heels and a pink Roger Vivier clutch.

Anne completed her Oscars look with a side swept hairstyle and light pink lip to match her hue of choice.

Anne Hathaway In Theyskens' Theory - Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood 2013Similar to Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway attended a separate Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood 2013 event, hosted last night at Eveleigh restaurant in Los Angeles, California.

It was a celebration of ‘Les Miserables’ in support of The Los Angeles Fund for Public Education, but I wasn’t celebrating Anne’s Theyskens’ Theory Spring 2013 dress quite so much.

Did the fur-lined shrug provided a dose of vintage glam? Yes. Did it work here? Not as well.

The fuzzy coat was a strange pairing for the sporty perforated dress underneath. Plus, it covered up the most interesting detail of the design: the slightly exaggerated sleeve seen on the runway.

A berry lip and a metallic sandal tried to counteract the understated neutral shades. I’m not sure they were successful.
