For this edition of Who Wore it Better? I’m taking it to the streets.

In my Best Of 2008 posts, I gave Victoria Beckham the Best Sidewalk Style Award, because the sidewalk is her catwalk, and no one can out do her when it comes to shopping in 6″ heels and Balenciaga dresses to go shopping at The Grove.

This was evident when she breezed through Heathrow airport back in November.

Not one to wear tights and ruin an ensemble whilst it was raining in London -see why I love her- Victoria wore her taupe Stella McCartney Felt military coat, with a matching taupe Hermes bag, brown hat, and Christian Louboutin Arielle Ankle Boots.

Anna Hathaway was spotted in New York wearing the same coat in a creamy beige colour, when she made her way to The Early Show in New York on Monday.

Like Victoria, Anne wore her coat with celebrity shades, and unbuckled but tied at the waist.

As much as I am crushing on Anne at the moment, and as much as she looks fabulous giving Victoria a run for her money in her playground. I have to give this to VB.

The coat, the hat, the bag all compliment each other perfectly, plus she doesn’t have a stylist putting her together, so she deserves more credit.

You can buy the taupe Stella McCartney coat Victoria is wearing from the international Net-A-Porter site for £1,175/€1,570.

Thanks to the person who informed me that Anne Hathaway heels were actually Christian Louboutin Very Galaxy heels.

These gold mirror satin peep-toes are currently available on pre-order from Saks.com for $1,295, but now that Anne has worn them, expect them to sell out quickly.

Remember how hard it was to get the Bling blings? I think I waited 3 months for those.

Get them before they go.

Many of you were disappointed that Anne Hathaway was the groom to Kate Hudson’s bride yesterday at the Bride Wars New York premiere.

I’m sure she more than made up for it in your opinions last night at the 20th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala in Palm Springs. The actress looked beyond AMAZING wearing a Balmain Spring 2009 black corseted strapless dress.

The dress had a mesh panel which was embellished around the midriff, and her hair was extension free.

She completed her look with Cartier jewels, and black furry Christian Louboutin Altadama Astrakhan platforms.

For those of you whole thought Anne’s style had taken a step back in 2009, shame on you, she is looking better than ever.

I am expecting her to blow me away on Sunday at the Golden Globes.

It appears that what we saw during the Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 presentation, we will not necessarily see on the red carpet, nor in stores.

I am sure some of you are breathing a sigh of relief, but I am not really a fan of collections being watered down too much. But saying that I understand clothes are there to be worn, not just admired.

Anne Hathaway appeared on Live With Regis & Kelly yesterday to promote Bride Wars, wearing a Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 dress, which was recognizable by the metallic material alone. The actual dress did not appear on the runway.

Rachel Weisz also wore the same dress, when she walked the red carpet for the Billy Elliot The Musical Opening Night in New York last November.

Judging from the pictures above, I will assume that Rachel Zoe got her boney hands onto Anne Hathaway from February 2008, when she dressed her for the 2008 Oscars, as this for me is when the transformation began.

OK her style was not that bad prior to this point, but is was just not quite polished and lacked direction. Her Oscars 2007 dress, with the big black bow was a clear indication that she needed help.

The pressure to live up to her stylish character Andy from The Devil Wears Prada, must have been huge, but the actress took it in her stride, stayed a smart, and grounded young lady.

Her most daring dress this year was the black Sophia Kokosalaki dress she wore to the MTV Movie Awards, which no one could have predicted. But your favourite dress of the year was her Atelier Versace gown, which she wore to the Rachel Getting Married premiere at the 65th Venice Film Festival.

Rihanna was last years winner.

Anne Hathaway wore this blue Marc Jacobs Resort 2009 dotted satin dress, when she visited the Late Show With David Letterman at the Ed Sullivan Theatre back in September.

The actress wore her dress with tight and black pumps.

On a very rare night out, Courteney Cox arrived on the red carpet of the LA premiere for Bedtime Stories at the El Capitan Theatre last week in Hollywood wearing the same dress.

The actress wore her dress with a gold necklace, which had a large pendent, gold trimmed heels, a gold watch and a black clutch.

I much prefer Courteney’s accessories, so she wins this for me.

The stunning Anne Hathaway takes us beautifully into 2009 by appearing on the front cover of Vogue US January 2009.

Anne has come a very long way from who she was a year ago. The talented actress was just recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Rachel Getting Married. She is up against others like Angelina Jolie for Changeling, Meryl Streep for Doubt, Kristin Scott Thomas for I’ve Loved You So Long and Kate Winslet for Revolutionary Road.

I am already so excited about the red carpet action.

In the interview with the magazine she talks about personal heartbreak with ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri to her professional triumph in the acting world. Here are some extracts.

On her ex-boyfriend: “I was a 21-year-old kid when I met him. It wasn’t a huge, dramatic breakup. We were in the process of winding it down when he was arrested. I don’t talk about this, except when I’m asked. It’s not a part of my life anymore. It’s a complicated situation that has the ability to define me in ways I am not comfortable with.”

On understanding the ‘things’ in her life: “I realized that the past five years of my life had been spent accumulating things I like but never asked if I love.”

On becoming vegetarian: “I don’t eat anything with a face.”

You can read her whole interview here.

Anne is such a talented actress. I hope in 2009 she will no longer be questioned about her ex.
