Amy Poehler In Basler - 2013 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Funny girl Amy Poehler played up her serious fashion side at the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, hosted by Conan O’Brien, at the Washington Hilton on Saturday night in Washington, D.C.

The ‘Parks and Recreation’ actress went decidedly glam in her beaded white Basler gown paired with simple EF Collection bangles on each wrist.

The short sleeves and mock peplum, nipped-in waist weren’t only figure-flattering, they also kept this dress fresh and style-forward.

Amy’s cute, curly bob and bright magenta-pink lippie added a touch of lighthearted fun to her sparkling entrance, however, I would have opted for a more neutral nail lacquer here.

Amy Poehler In Tadashi Shoji - 2013 Time 100 Gala

Amy Poehler attended the 2013 Time 100 Gala held at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City yesterday evening.

The actress selected a Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 black lace long-sleeved dress, which she styled with black satin peep-toes.

Her simple, effective, event-appropriate all-black look received a pop of colour via her pretty pink lip colour and matching manicure.

15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards

Here are the rest of the looks from the 15th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California yesterday evening.

Amy Poehler: The comedian showed off the sophisticated side of her style wearing a black satin Prada dress. The cape-like sleeves gave this curve-hugging number a fresh take while matching black satin heels kept the glam factor going. My favorite part of the entire look? Her Ippolita emerald-green drop earrings that gave this all black ensemble a major boost of colour.

Kristen Wiig: On the other side of the colour-spectrum, Poehler’s former colleague and fellow comedian, Kristen Wiig opted for an all white relaxed shift dress. Taupe suede Christian Louboutin ‘Miyousra’ pumps and a tan clutch with a bright coral stripe accessorized the look by adding depth and a bit of colour.

Maya Rudolph: I can’t say this is my favourite look this awards season, but there are rumours that the comedian is expecting again, so this forest-green one-shoulder printed caftan might serve as a cover up.

Famke Janssen: The’Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ star wore a strapless body-hugging plum David Meister gown. While this simple gown felt safe especially on someone like Famke, who has the body to show off all sorts of cuts and styles, the end result was beautiful and elegant. The tone played out Famke’s gorgeous locks which had an Old Hollywood glamour appeal, while the form of the dress highlighted her statuesque form.

Amy Poehler In Zuhair Murad - 2013 SAG AwardsAmy Poehler stepped up her style once again for the 2013 SAG Awards, hosted this evening at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. She was nominated for her role in ‘Parks and Recreation,’ and she certainly was stage-ready.

She impressed me as co-host of the 2013 Golden Globe Awards with her Stella McCartney suit, and her black Zuhair Murad gown for the 19th annual Screen Actors Guild event rivaled that red carpet moment.

The subtle sparkle that outlined the bodice of her dress added a flattering shape to the hourglass silhouette, while Forevermark jewels complemented the look.

I would have just swapped out the heavy grey Judith Leiber clutch for something more sleek.

Intentionally or not, she coordinated perfectly with her partner-in-crime Tina Fey, who also chose an elegant black dress. Both of these talented ladies have really put their best stiletto-clad feet forward lately.

Topping it all off, Amy’s blonde hair was styled effortlessly into shoulder-length waves and her petal-pink pout added a touch of sizzle to this old Hollywood glam statement.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Host The Golden Globe Awards In L'Wren Scott & Stella McCartney

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the 2013 Golden Globes on Sunday, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA.

They took to the red carpet wearing L’Wren Scott and Stella McCartney respectively and both wore the same designers while hosting the show.

Tina wore the same L’Wren Scott dress from the red carpet to host the show, later changing into a custom peacock-blue embroidered L’Wren Scott gown, which was her best look of the night – in fact, it was one of her best looks ever.

Amy hosted the show wearing a burgundy Stella McCartney gown with an embroidered belt from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. This sexy frock featured a plunging neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves.

Her final look to close the show was a black sequin dress from Stella’s Spring 2013 collection. This halter keyhole dress wasn’t my favourite; it was a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
Amy kept the same hairstyle throughout the night, while her co-host Tina, opted for three different looks.

I was delighted to see both women step things up in the style stakes, as we know they often find themselves on the worst-dressed lists.
