Red Carpet Fashion Awards

This is Amy Adams second red carpet appearance since giving birth to her daughter in May.

She walked the red carpet at the Gruman’s Chinese Theatre last night for LA Premiere of “The Fighter”

Amy wore a J.Mendel Spring 2011 floaty dress.

Her pearl grey silk chiffon pleated v-neck dress was accented with a silver beaded belt.

I loved this dress on the runway as it moves so gracefully. Unfortunately I’m not as blown away by it on Amy.

Her version loses some of its appeal with the extra layer on the skirt plus the colour washes her out.

I also think some of the elegance is lost with the stark contrast of the red satin Brian Atwood pumps.

New mummy Amy Adams looked radiant at the Variety’s 2nd Annual Power Of Women Luncheon yesterday.

She’s shifted her baby weight really quickly.

The actress wore a Roland Mouret pink structured one shoulder cocktail dress which is an absolutely divine colour on her as it enhances her rosy glow.

I’m also loving her champagne coloured clutch which she teams with nude heels.

We’ve known Roland Mouret as ‘RM by Roland Mouret’, for a long time, but the designer has reverted back to his just Roland Mouret.

Amy Adams and Marisa Tomei were the blue belles of the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday night.

Actress Amy Adams wore a blue silk chiffon Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti paired with a black clutch.

Her maternity style is so elegant.

Marisa opted for a vintage Halston gown from Decades Inc.

Her deep blue bugle beaded gown was accented with a black silk satin obi sash.

Her look was paired with Sergio Rossi heels and H Stern jewels.

Penelope Cruz wore a Armani Privé Spring 2005 black gown with a mermaid tail.

I like the lace the detail around the bust a shoulder line but I’m a little bored by Penelope in black again.

I feel that she’s trying to channel her Spanish roots here but it somehow looks a little messy.

Glenn Close sparkled in this black Oscar de la Renta floor length Fall 2009 dress.

I just feel it isn’t special enough for the Globes.

The bust line of the dress and the bare shoulders make her arms look too muscular.

Rose Byrne wore a Lanvin Pre-Fall 2010 dress in a deep purple with a bow detail at the waist.

I’m glad Rose decided to wear the dress in this colour but I apart from that I’m left feeling a little bored.

Kate Hudson walked the red carpet in a Marchesa Bridal Spring 2010 gown with sculptured band bodice and bottom flared skirt.

I just can’t make you my mind about this. Part of me is thinking “what the hell?” and the other part doesn’t mind it so much.

I’ve never really got why stars wear bridal looks on the red carpet but I’m actually quite drawn to the sculpting on the dress.

The shoes are way too heavy though.

Jaime Pressly is shimmering in this Kevan Hall Spring 2010 dress with a split up one side.

I prefer this dress on the model as I feel that it has more of an impact against brunette hair.

I don’t think the champagne coloured clutch compliments this dress at all.

Jenna Fischer wore a dress from Halston’s Spring 2010 collection.

I like it but I don’t love it. I just can’t see how this dress is event appropriate. This is a star’s chance to shine and this dress is never going to deliver that moment.

9th Annual New York Times Arts & Leisure Weekend, New York

Natalie Portman has done something many of us wish we could have done…got our hands on the Rodarte for Target collection.

The petite actress wore a mustard slip dress, with a cute tulle overlay and a bow details on the shoulders which was featured in Teen Vogue.

She covered up wearing a black belted cardigan, whilst completing her look with Stella McCartney booties.

Natalie’s dress is now sold out, but you can find other pieces on from this collection on Target’s website.

Theatre Royal, London

Anna Friel was spotted leaving the Theatre Royal in London after her final performance of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” looking sensational wearing a Herve Leger Resort 2010 black and white bandage dress.

Like most of us in London she sported a (faux) fur coat in a bid to keep warm.

2010 NBC Universal’s Press Tour Cocktail Party, LA

When I saw this pretty pink Elise Øverland Resort 2010 dress on Melanie Brown, I was considering giving her a first ever compliment.

On reflection everything feels heavily weighted to the right with her one-sleeved dress and side-swept bun.

Also the necklace was so unnecessary with this pretty dress.

Close…but no Zig-a-zig-ha.

Dior Cocktails For Marion Cotillard And “Nine”, New York

Miss Dior aka Marion Cotillard looked beautiful wearing a silver lurex Christian Dior dress, which reminds me of the dress Charlize Theron wore last year.

I love the dress and the ruby pumps, but not so keen on the poodle perm.

“Leap Year” New York Premiere

A Pea In A Pod is the usual destination for expectant celebrities, but Amy Adams has Ms. Carolina Herrera on speed-dial.

The designer has reworked pieces from her current collections to create a custom-made wardrobe for Amy which included this red silk georgette dress.

I guess Ms. Herrera has found her new muse. Amy is glowing.

How I Met Your Mother`s 100th Episode Celebration, LA

Alyson Hannigan – the People’s Choice Favorite TV Actress – walked the red carpet wearing a BCBG printed dress with a cascading ruffle front.

She kept her accessories simple adding black clutch and Jimmy Choo “Lace” black patent sandals.

Damn you Freida Pinto.

BDOTW is going to be hard enough.

The nude runway version of this Valentino Spring 2010 dress is beautiful, but the Indian beauty picked a black sheer version with a nude underlay which I absolutely adore.

Her look was paired with satin black heels and a Roger Vivier Canasta clutch.

I’m loving every thing about Emily Blunt’s Basil Soda Fall 2009 Couture maroon dress from the waist up.

Her patterned skirt doesn’t quite work for me.

Had it been one block colour, I think I would been drooling over this look.

This appears to be a less formal event, so I will concede that she did make a great choice despite my reservations about the skirt.

I love the wrap around beaded bodice as it’s so interesting and unique, plus I adore her silver sandals, but that crystallized ruby clutch is to die for.

I know a lot of you find Claire Danes very boring on the red carpet, but I find her quite calming on the red carpet.

As much as I like big dramatic gowns, with bling and vibrant colours, you never see Claire making huge mistakes on the red carpet.

She has a formula, and it appears she is sticking to it.

For me this Oscar de la Renta look is in a long line for simple flawless looks for Claire.

Amy Adams wears a simple navy Azzaro dress with a twist, as it has a ruched detail going down one side.

All in all, this is a fantastically well dressed event.

Kudos to all these ladies.
