Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Amber Rose In Versace - 2013 BET Awards

I was pleasantly surprised by Amber Rose’s look on the red carpet at the 2013 BET Awards on Sunday evening.

That’s because the new mum’s Versace Resort 2013 yellow-and-black dress with graphic cut-out detailing didn’t focus on her prize assets: her boobs and butt.

For once, I can admire her sleeveless dress and how pretty she is without being turned off by too much exposure.

I love the neon-pink colour and simple black sandals. It’s been a while since I liked anything she’s worn so this gets a thumbs up from me.

Overdressed Award
The 2010 ESPY Awards which was held in LA last night was really disappointing.

Last years event was far more entertaining.

Anyway I’ll start of with Amber Rose who wore a beautiful tiered lemon Natalia Romano dress.

She looked really elegant – which just goes to show that it’s Kanye who brings her down.

My problem with this look is that she’s totally overdress for this occasion. It’s the ESPY Awards not the Oscars.

Also the layers make her appear wider than she actually is.

Nice attempt though.

Christian Siriano is always guaranteed to attract celebs to his presentations.

Amber Rose arrived wearing dress with that beautiful marine print from his Spring 2010 collection.

The dress has such bold shoulders that Amber shouldn’t have adopted this pose as it ruins the shape of the dress.

Her look was paired with same runway print heels.

Mena Suvari is a huge supporter of Christian Siriano, which is why I’m not surprised she wore a custom blue strapless dress from the designers Fall 2010 collection.

I am forever indebted to FC for allowing me to post this on here and I take full responsibility for any fashion bashing this site receives as a result!

Now that the disclaimer is over and done with, let’s talk about the ever ridiculous Amber Rose and Kanye West who were front row at Chanel’s Spring 2010 Couture show.

How they ever got an invite in the first place is beyond me but publicity hungry as ever, Amber turned up in a gold knitted hooded dress.

There is no point in me even attempting to critique this look as I wouldn’t even know where to begin. But please feel free to let me know your feelings on her *ahem* dress.

I know I should despise these two and their media grabbing antics but the comedy couple just never fail to amuse me.

I feel a new screensaver coming on…

UPDATE: Thanks to one of our readers, From Russia With Love, who identified Amber’s dress for us. She is wearing a look from the Fall 2009 Chanel Paris-Moscow show.

Katherine Jenkins and Amber Rose don’t seem like they would share a similar taste in fashion, but both have stepped out in this Jil Sander sculpted wool crepe dress.

Katherine wore this dress in October to the “Pride of Britain Awards” in London.

I like the dress, but it doesn’t seem to translate that well off the runway to red carpet. The structured piece gets kinda lost.

I think Katherine looks OK, but I’m not exactly blown away as she somehow manages to make this dress look dowdy.

I like the chunky clutch and the shoes though.

Amber wore this dress to the New York screening of “Twilight Saga: New Moon” back in November.

She wore the bright orange version and had it shortened. Figures!

I really love what she’s done with the length and that orange suits her skin so well.

Amber wins for me as I prefer the dress in orange.

Do not adjust your screens, this really is a Herve Leger dress.

I know many of you have sworn off Herve Leger due to every D to Z list celebrity wearing them on the red carpet, but Claire Danes proves that there’s more to the brand than neon bandage dresses.

The actress walked the red carpet with Disney pip squeak Zac Efron at the New York screening of “Me And Orson Welles” last night.

She looked amazing in her glittering silver mini dress, which she paired with pink Sergio Rossi heels.

Those of you who tag her as boring, will be eating your words.

This is definitely a BDOTW contender for me.

Lydia Hearst opted for a D&G Fall 2009 strapless ivory dress.

Even with the exaggerated hips, this dress fails to flatter Lydia.

I wish she had picked one of the rich plum or blue pieces from this collection, as this colour washes her out.

Jimmy Choo Nova gold snake-effect leather peep-toe pumps complete her look.

Once you get past the Kanye West association and the occasional OTT outfit, you can see that Amber Rose is actually a very pretty woman.

The model arrived on the wearing an ivory Dolce & Gabbana strapless bustier dress, which is a regular on the red carpet.

She also paired her look with gold Jimmy Choo heels.
