Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Sarah Jessica Parker turned heads when she wore this gorgeous Proenza Schouler Fall 2010 dress whilst being interviewed for Access Hollywood in Central Park back in May 2010.

The actress looked unbelievably stylish in the baby blue V-neck, bubble hem dress which features a black and white paint print scattered over the dress.

Sarah added a pink blazer with contrasting black lapels and cuffs to her look, as well as killer blue and fuchsia lace up Nicholas Kirkwood suede platforms, a white bag and silver necklaces.

Alexa Chung attended Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2012 presentation in New York on Wednesday wearing the same dress.

The TV presenter added black accessories to her look including pointed toe, bow-adorned Louis Vuitton heels and a tasseled clutch.

A cameo necklace, dark red lips and tousled hair completed her ensemble.

SJP easily wins for me on her gorgeous shoes alone.

I love the addition of the pink blazer and think her pieces all work well together to create one super stylish ensemble.

Alexa’s basic black accessories fall flat in comparison.

Mulberry ♥’s NY.

Following the opening of their brand new flagship store at 134 Spring Street last Tuesday, they celebrated their 40th birthday party by throwing a lavish bash on the roof top of Skylight West on Monday night.

We sipped margaritas and scoffed down the canapés before taking to the multi-coloured lit dance-floor to rock out to Kasabian who played a 45 minute set.

A balloon artist made us animal shaped balloons and hats which was a fun addition to the party.

My friend from New York Daily News and I set about looking for the celebs at the party.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The actress quietly sat in the corner looking effortless and serene wearing a Mulberry Tille wrap dress from the Fall 2011 collection. She added a simple black blazer to her print dress and carried a Mulberry ‘Effie’ satchel from the Resort 2012 collection.

Solange Knowles: The face of Rimmel cosmetics is one of the nicest celebrities I have ever met. She’s beautiful and happy to talk to randoms like me. She wore a Mary Katrantzou Vienouas silk-georgette reversible shirt dress with Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte gold wedges whilst carrying a Mulberry ‘Fox Lock’ bag. She was impressed that I was able to name all her pieces (girl, this is what I do). I was stumped on her jewelery which she told me was by Lia Sophia.

Rose Byrne: As you know I have a mild large girl crush on Rose Byrne. The Australian actress was glowing wearing a Mulberry Resort 2012 gold pleat dress. I love the pop of colour via her aqua blue earrings. A white Mulberry mini ‘Taylor’ bag from the Resort 2012 collection and nude pumps I wasn’t too fond of completed her look.

Alexa Chung was spinning the decks at Stella McCartney’s Fashion’s Night Out event at the designer’s store in New York City this week.

The model and TV presenter chose a Stella McCartney Resort 2012 dress.

Her white dress which is adorned with cute black bows was teamed with Jimmy Choo ‘Wheel’ silver glitter flats.

Alexa finished her look with her trademark cat eye makeup and wore her hair in a casual ponytail.

It’s a more feminine look than what we’re used to on Alexa and I’m thankful she didn’t wear grubby boots for a refreshing change.

A similar version of this dress was recently spotted on Andrea Riseborough.

Alexa Chung channels the Swinging Sixties in a retro shoot for the October 2011 Harper’s Bazaar UK issue.

The DJ, muse, designer and presenter was photographed in and around David Hockney’s Notting Hill flat by Ellen Von Unwerth.

Her rebooted sixties photoshoot included retro-inspired designs from Chloe, Burberry, Prada and Stella McCartney.

In her interview Chung confesses to being in love with all things Sixties and has even dedicated a wall in her Columbia Road flat as a shire to her multiple sixties muses (such as Astrid Kirchherr, Marianne Faithfull, Jane Birkin, Jean Shrimpton) covered with cut-and-paste effigies, including paparazzi shots of those halcyon days.

The Harper’s Bazaar October British issue is on sale now. Here are some extracts from Alexa’s interview:

On why the Sixties suit her body type: “My ex-boyfriend [photographer David Titlow] showed me Antonioni’s 1966 film Blow-Up in my late teens. I remember seeing Jane Birkin. And I couldn’t believe it. She even made just wearing a pair of tights look sexy. . . I think the Sixties vibe suits my body type, which is skinny legs and a boyish frame.” Read more…

Burberry partnered with The Serpentine Gallery for their annual fundraising event, The Summer Party, which took place in London last night.

Poppy Delevingne: The British model looked very statuesque in her Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 dress with the classic Pucci print. The model would’ve handpicked the dress, as she was front row at the Pucci Fall 2011 presentation back in February.

Alexa Chung: The British TV presenter was the DJ at this event. She opted for a black Carven dress which matched the gloomy weather in London yesterday as it rained most of the day. I guess she wasn’t in a ‘Summer’ party mood as a result. On the plus side Alexa could’ve easily sailed home in her shoes.

Donna Air: The British TV presenter stood out on this red carpet wearing a neon yellow Roksanda Ilincic Resort 2011 one-shoulder dress with a draped detail. Whilst the Smythson clutch is so-so, the green peep-toes are amazing. I love this colour combo. Someone got the ‘Summer’ party memo.

Erin O’Connor: The model wore a beautiful Roberto Cavalli floral print maxi dress. Read more…

Alexa Chung was invited to the 13th Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball to Benefit Elton John AIDS Foundation, but still didn’t make the effort to do something different with her hair.

Despite the grand nature of the occasion, the TV presenter looked the same as she always does.

She wore a simple cold-shoulder vintage polka dot dress with red ballerina flats.

Her Chopard jewels included a Toi & Moi ring in white gold set with diamonds and 2 pear shaped yellow diamonds of 6.51cts and 7.12cts, a fancy-cut diamond bracelet and a Happy Diamond teddy bear pendant.
