Who Wore RED Valentino Better…Alexa Chung or Audrey Tautou?

Who Wore RED Valentino Better Alexa Chung or Audrey Tautou

Back in February, Alexa Chung wore a girly RED Valentino daisy-print dress when she attended the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Her dress, which didn’t feel quite right for the event, was styled with Valentino sparkling silver ankle-strap pumps, with a touch of red lippie adding some life to the rather casual look.

Audrey Tautou wore the same frock when she was unveiled as the mistress of ceremonies for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival last month.

Her nude pumps may not have been as inspiring as Alexa’s sparklers but her dress felt much more event appropriate.

For her shoe choice and overall styling, I do prefer this dress on Alexa, even though it doesn’t exactly scream Grammys – but not everyone has to wear a meat dress or one slashed to the hipbone to stand out at the event.

Alexa Chung In Bella Freud – L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards 2013

Alexa Chung In Bella Freud - L'Oreal Colour Trophy Awards 2013

Alexa Chung was announced as the face of L’Oreal Professional INOA colour back in February, so it was not a surprise that she hosted the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards 2013 at the Grosvenor House in London this evening.

The British star opted for a British designer wearing a Bella Freud gold shimmering frock with metallic gold peep-toes.

Her short sleeve, high neck dress is very short. So short, that it would not be advisable to sit or bend over whilst wearing it.

Sporting wavy tresses in a slightly lighter hue, Alexa completed her look with smoky eyes and a shimmering pink lip colour.

Is this dress way too short, so does Alexa make it work for you?

Alexa Chung In Moschino – Glamour Presentation of ‘These Girls’

Alexa Chung In Moschino - Glamour Presentation of ‘These Girls’

Alexa Chung attended the presentation of ‘These Girls’ in New York City on Monday alongside Dianna Agron and Emma Roberts.

The British TV presenter wore a Moschino Spring 2013 coat over a black mind dress.

While this look feels all too familiar, I love the white organza flower appliqués which accent her black geometric sheer coat.

Adding a quintessential British brand to her look, she carried a Mulberry ‘Bryn’ bag along with some black strappy sandals.

Alexa Chung In Erdem – 2013 Met Gala

Alexa Chung In Erdem - 2013 Met Gala

The always fashion-forward Alexa Chung wore a dress from Erdem’s Fall 2013 collection to the Met Gala.

I don’t read punk here, but I do love the subtle peek-a-boo factor of this dress. Bare midriffs are a huge trend this spring, and I like the trendy-without-being vulgar version this dress offers. I also really like the effect of wearing the black hotpants under the dress.

My one fashion complaint here is the extra high neckline, which takes this into victorian territory–it looks better on the runway stopping at the collarbone.

Alexa’s soft updo and simple makeup are well paired with the bold dress–Alexa never looks overdone, and tonight is no different.

Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dresses Opening Exhibit

Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dresses Opening Exhibit

There were many more celebs who joined Carey Mulligan and Katy Perry for the special exhibition of selected costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’ in New York City yesterday evening.

Alexa Chung: Fresh off the plane from her Vogue Festival London trip, the jet-setting TV presenter wore a black Miu Miu crewneck tunic featuring some gold detailing. Black loafers and a black clutch accessorized her outfit, with barely there makeup completing her effortless look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The indie actress stands out here wearing a bright-white Prada dress with ruffled details on the bodice and cuffs. Maggie’s choices are often hit or miss. This for me is a hit, although I’m not a huge fan of the platform sandals.

Florence Welch: Is it me, or does Florence’s Prada look have a touch of Saint Laurent about it? Maybe it’s the suit-and-hat combo which has now become synonymous with the brand. As always this is a stellar chic look from the British singer.
