Yesterday I attended my first and final D&G presentation. Sadly, this Spring 2012 collection will be the last D&G collection as the designers will be focusing on strengthening and expanding their signature line.
Dolce & Gabbana’s kid sister went out with a bang.
Bold, contrasting prints dominated the runway of this glamorous, feminine collection which is the most colourful, eclectic and fun presentation I’ve seen this Fashion Week.
The only solid pieces are a white shirt, two knit sweaters and a denim pant suit.
The silhouettes ranged from flowy dresses of various lengths with handkerchief hemlines, to ultra-short fitted mini dresses, which I’m placing bets on Fergie being the first to wear on the red carpet.
We also saw sexy shorts, bloomers, cropped tops, printed pants, tunics and a finale of maxi dresses.
The fabulous, eclectic prints with nods to the 90s were teamed with satin print wedges and gold gladiator flats.
Other key accessories included oversized straw hats, which I immediately pictured on Kimora Lee Simmons, charm bracelets, satin print wedges, minaudières, fold-over clutches, tassel-accent quilted bags and lots of ghetto gold jewellery.
Favourites: Paisley print top with floral print shorts and printed shirt and matching pants
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Fergie, Kimora Lee Simmons, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Rowland, Jessie J and Shingai Shoniwa
